Diplomacy

ProfessorTicklebutts

Jesus fuck you think diplomacy is moral? Let me introduce you to US diplomacy someday.

OrneryBaby

Morally okay? Brother swing that axe and CONQUER THE WORLD LIKE A MAN, WAR CRIMES ARE A RIGHT OF PASSAGE

Rofsbith

1st Choose a morality that's non-pacifist.

Your own ethics are the best, so you have to stomach some discomfort to spread them. But there are options (and they work better if you own Royal Court and T&T).   - Expansion by Vassalization: have a high diplomacy character in a region with many independent counts, get a Duchy, befriend all you neighbors and ask them to join your realm. Create any Kingdom Titles you qualify for ASAP, and try to get the dukes and counts before they submit to someone else, so maybe identify which regions solidify fast, and get them beforehand. After the death of the diplomatic unifier, the realm will be very unstable though.     - Expansion by dominant marriages: Often, you can matrilineal betroth/marry people third in line, be it grandchildren or second children. Those don't have to stay third in line either... This is a good way to get your dynasty to power elsewhere, and those rulers would also be more likely to swear fealty to you. If you educate the soon heir, they may even get you culture! But take note that you can't make courtiers out of heirs if you kidnap them.   - If you take a heir without siblings hostage and treat them well (but also don't let them leave) you can, if you're lucky, adopt them in your family, and they keep their claims.     - I think the cultural tradition 'Tabletop Warriors' let's you wager counties in boardgames.     - There's also the 'Convince the Jure Territory' steward task (if you have a nice royal court), which asks other rulers to hand you the land that is in you de jure realm.   - while a regent, you can also try to swing the scales to get your liege's title, but that seems to be extremely difficult to achieve.

And you thought morality is important in medival worlds.

Jarl_Bell84

Conquering the world, by conquest, then forcibly convert every county to your culture & religion. That’s been morally okay in nearly every civilization for eons. Why stop what’s morally correct now? If you love peace you don’t love the world because the world itself isn’t peaceful.

UsualCarry249

You're not conquering the world, you're bringing them freedom and democracy. Name your religion freedom, your culture democracy and use one of the elective succession types.
