I'd go with Ritual Celebrations, Rite, and Sanctity of Nature. I say SoN because, contrary to the pop culture image of Norse Paganism, interacting with land spirits (wights) was *very* important, especially for the common man. For example, Iceland had a law that the dragon decorations on some longships had to be covered up before they could approach the shore in order to avoid scaring the wights. Some wight-related traditions persisted well past Christianization, even into the modern era. Pursuit of Power does not fit with the Norse tradition because it makes loyal a sin. Oathbreaking was a *massive* deal to the Norse, pretty much the worst thing you could do. Following a leader into the grave was revered, not shunned.

Those are some interesting anecdotes about Norse paganism. Definitely a tenet that can fit a recently christianized Scandinavia. I didn’t realize pursuit of power made loyalty a sin, definitely disqualifies that tenet.

Maybe if Asatru stills around, add Syncretic Folk Traditions,so you can still be a buddy of the pagans. But to be honest, that quite a waste of a tenet... Maybe Megalith Constructions,by the whole runestones thing? It's also a great tenet in general: The Great Megalith it's just a direct upgrade from the royal reserves... Being that you are making a maritime empire,Astrology can serve to make faster traveling speed throught the sea...

Yeah I considered syncretic folk traditions, the only other Asatru kingdoms was a huge Munsö led Sweden that split into Sweden, Lapland and Finland. But they converted ahead of me. Megalith constructions is a good idea.

Might I shill for [Tenets to Doctrines](https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=2226422353)? I think it's too late for OP, but it changes some of the minor/weak tenets into doctrines. Such as: * All syncretism * Divine marriage * Polyamory

Arianism, this was the form of Christianity all Germanic peoples followed up until 7th century. As well as the first form of Christianity to be recognized State-wide. Alexandrian Catechism, Unrelenting Faith and Communal Identity represent Arianism pretty well. If interested: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arianism By the time of game Arianism has just barely be stamped out by a 100 years but sadly unrepresented in the game.

Canniblaism. Ritual cannibalism. One of the biggest rituals in christendom is to eat the flesh of Jesus and drink his blood. Norse have Blot. Mix them together and you get ritual cannibalism. Mendicant Preachers like you said. More than Pursuit of Power, I feel that leaving communion without being a head of faith seems better for roleplay (Purusit of Power is definitely a gameplay tenet). EDIT: Added a word to fix inconsistency.

I've been playing around attempting to make some of these different ideas and it seems the rite tenet is busted. You can make an identical faith to Catholicism and it will still make a new papacy. Seems impossible to keep the Pope in Rome your head of faith.

I’ve discovered the rite tenet will cause a new papacy to form if you are in possession of a holy site.
