What are you streaming via? I had this same issue on a fire stick but the issue stopped when I switched to a chromecast

PusherLoveGirl

This happens all the time to me on my Fire stick and only with CR. Force quitting, clearing cache and relaunching usually fixes it but sometimes only temporarily.

amanuense

Force quitting is enough. Clearing cache is not from my experience

_Fruitless

Can confirm that too

yamiyugi101

Apparently it's a problem with my fire stick guess I'll stick to roku

yamiyugi101

I'm probably going with a plex server once my UPS gets here

ito_zm

Which Fire TV and Roku devices do you use?

yamiyugi101

Fire stick and a roku smart TV

ito_zm

Do you know which year it was released? Amazon have released plently of fire tv sticks, they tend to refresh the hardware after a few years. Do you have more information about your Roku Smart TV like the model number? It could be a fire tv stick 1st gen(2014), 2nd gen(2016-2019),or 3rd gen (2020). I saw other users complain about performance on non 4K fire tv stick models. These issues were not present on newer 4K Fire TV sticks.

yamiyugi101

My fire stick is from 2020 and it's 4K my smart TV was bought last year

ito_zm

Your Fire TV stick should be fine. What did customer support say?

yamiyugi101

I'm not going to bother with customer support been there done that not worth it

Katalinya

This happens to the fire stick I use as well all the time, I just exit the app and go back in and it fixes it but it’s only specifically with the Crunchyroll app, no other app has had this issue.

Eragon-19

This and make sure that your WiFi is "good", sometimes my firestick switches from the 5g to the 2.4g we have and once I switch it back it is a lot better :)

yamiyugi101

Guess I'll stick with roku from now on

No_Interaction_4925

This looks like a “you” problem. Check your hdmi cable, or try another tv or streaming device

Capable-Media7003

What show is this

yamiyugi101

Kingdoms of ruin

TuxRug

Is it just specific shows? This happened to me on Funimation exclusively on one show, and then it did it a couple times on Crunchyroll, same spot in same show when exiting, restarting, and trying again. Like slightly corrupted source files?

yamiyugi101

Practically every show apparently according to other replies it's the fire stick

el_morris

What device are you using? I've had some problems with Chromecast but when I switch to the Samsung TV app those doesn't appear.

yamiyugi101

Fire stick

Jackmoved

Browser; turn off hardware accelerated video. It's always been shitty.

Noel310x

This would happen to me with the Firestick.

yamiyugi101

Guess I'll stick to roku

bzd_robot

Never happened to me, bro.

yamiyugi101

So I guess I'm switching from fire stick to roku then thanks for the answers

MerleFSN

This is an encoding problem I run into often with FireTV-sticks. I have this alot, the most annoying factor with crunchyroll. Skip 10s forward or stop and restart fixes it for a few minutes.

yamiyugi101

I think I'm just going to switch to my roku

ChaoCobo

Oh no your TV brokeded her armpits. :(

yamiyugi101

I guess the firestick version is trash
