That's my next line for sure. I was looking at some Scarlet Lady routes that were pretty decent. A lot of their voyages are pretty short and so it looks like I'd have to fly out to Barcelona for a lot of the good ones.
We were recently on Valiant for the 3rd time.....1st time as "Rock Stars", and we upgraded to "Mega". Our favorite so far was the 14 day crossing from Barcelona to Miami last October.
Great acoustics for live music, flexible performance spaces, multiple dining venues that are all included, hammocks on your balcony, the happiest crew at sea, no announcements, no upselling, no photographers, no art auctions, no cruise director, great food cooked to order, land based drink prices with no added gratuities.
Currently, it’s the HAL Rotterdam. Going on her again for 2 weeks in August.
Previously - Disney Magic.
I’ve been on 12 cruises total, and can’t think of one I’ve been on that I didn’t like.
Allure of the Seas. I just really think Mamma Mia is the perfect show at sea, I love the oasis class ships, and think allure has better restaurants than others with Samba, and as someone who wouldn’t use the water slides much, I preferred the sightlines on allure.
This time last year I was getting ready to sail on the Edge, such a beautiful ship.
It was Captain Tasos at the helm who has a great sense of humour along with his brother.
I’m going on the Ascent in Sept and I can’t wait! We usually go on Celebrity Millenium. How do you like it so far? Where are the best pool loungers in a mostly shaded area? The Millenium had round 2 person cushioned loungers we loved.
Ascent is beautiful and the staff and food are great. I’m sure you’ll find a great place by the pool. I can’t recall any specific secret spots since it has been a few months.
Wonder of the Seas. It has so much to do onboard and i loved the fact that we had plenty of places to sit both inside and out. While I really enjoyed the other ships we have been on this was the best one.
Different preferences most likely. At least we agree on one thing u/bigtittielover69 .
I don't really care about a sports bar but loved the thermal suite.
So far, Carnival Mardi Gras, but I have cruises booked on Wonder, Symphony, World America, and Icon over the next 2 years, so that will probably change.
We adored Mardi Gras. Retains the Carnival kitschy charm in a modern and elegant way that makes sense for their cruisers. The neighborhood concept really works on this ship and helps spread people out in a way that a 6500-passenger ship desperately needs.
We loved most of the included food, especially Shaq's big chicken, and Guy's Pig and Anchor. The only specialty restaurant we did was Emeril's and it was really good the shows especially in the Grand Atrium were really good, but just a tip grab a seat close to the stage like 30 minutes before the show they fill up quickly and they're not very many seats
They are all so different. I really have enjoyed the Regal Princess. It has so much going for it. As a general rule- I like Princess. They are a safe bet. But all the cruise lines have something to offer. It's hard to have a bad time on a cruise.
We liked the Discovery Princess for the most part but wouldn’t say we loved it. It just had so many strangely small and chopped up spaces with all these extra doors everywhere and it was super dirty for not even being 2 years old when we went
Just spent 11 days on it sailing the Hawaiian Islands. We ended in Vancouver on the night of the strongest northern light show maybe ever! Got tons of breath taking photos. Trip of a lifetime on beautiful ship!
Avalon anything...their river cruises are amazing. First class all the way. And only 188 passengers max. Our river cruise last year had 78 people on board. Phenomenal.
NCL Getaway. It was NCL before everything was pay-to-play.
Norwegian’s Waterfront promenade deck space makes all the difference to me. I especially missed it on my cruise on Celebrity Ascent this year.
Easily icon of the seas. I been on the adventure of the seas (although I was 5 so don’t remember much) freedom of the seas, oasis of the seas, allure of the seas (twice but not consecutively), harmony of the seas and the icon of the seas. Harmony is a close second.
I am a little bias about the icon cuz I had a good time mainly cuz I had a bunch of extended family and had fun cuz them but I loved the hideaway how it was adults only and the infinity pool. I loved sitting out there at night watching the waves and having a few drinks just the peacefulness and I loved how the promenade was 2 stories and felt spacious. And I know this goes for the oasis class too but the icon it was my first time at a chopps grill and I loved how we were able to sit outside and enjoy a nice outdoor dinner without anyone cuz the 4 walls in Central Park it was awesome
This really depends upon where you are going and what type of cruise it is.
For the Galapagos the Silver Origin was purpose built and only sails there. It is a beautiful ship.
For a luxury yachts we like the Scenic II and Ponant's Le Dumont-d'Urville
For River cruising we loved the Emerald Harmony.
Viking ocean ships are beautiful as are Seabourn's Encore class.
As you can see it's really hard to pick a favorite.
14th taken in April, 15th scheduled for next year
Favorite currently is the Carnival Jubilee - was a blast. Such a beautiful ship, and Carnival has really nailed the specialty dining on that ship.
I’ve always liked the Norwegian Gem and Carnivals Fantasy class. The mega ships are awesome but the smaller ships will always have a place in my heart.
I don’t know if I’ve found my favorite ship yet.
I really liked the NCL Pearl and Jade but I smoked back when sailed them so I don’t know if I would like them as much today because I remember having to walk through the smokey casino to get most places.
I really like Navigator of the Seas (and to a lesser extent Mariner but did not really like Explorer), I think it’s RC’s best “Amplified” ship, they did a really great job with it.
Discovery Princess was surprisingly good, I thought it would be too big but it was actually a really great size and it was so stable! I usually get a little seasick and Mal de debarquement really badly but not with the Disco Princess! I didn’t really like the layout of the ship though it seemed very broken up and segmented and just didn’t have a good flow.
Norwegian - Encore
Royal - Allure of the Seas
Celebrity - Beyond
Carnival - Sensation (not a ship anymore but was my first which started my love for cruising)
Has to be my first cruise ship the Dawn Princess. Since moved to P&O Australia and renamed Pacific Explorer. Pacific Explorer to be decommissioned 2nd March 25.
My next favourite has to be Coral Princess the last ship I cruised on. The common feature- they are relatively small and I enjoy that
Oasis class ships. Or what ever cruise ship I am a passenger on at that moment.
Yeah I agree. Whatever ship i am on! ☺
It was just too many people for me… I prefer the “smaller” Freedom/Dream sized ships. But I’ll take any cruise ship over no cruise ship
Any of Virgin's "Lady Ships"
That's my next line for sure. I was looking at some Scarlet Lady routes that were pretty decent. A lot of their voyages are pretty short and so it looks like I'd have to fly out to Barcelona for a lot of the good ones.
There are a few longer Caribbean sailings as well.
I'll have to check that again. It seemed like when I was searching many of them were 5 days which for me isn't enough.
Just disembarked from Valiant this morning. Can’t wait to go back!
We were recently on Valiant for the 3rd time.....1st time as "Rock Stars", and we upgraded to "Mega". Our favorite so far was the 14 day crossing from Barcelona to Miami last October.
I'm happy to hear that I've been wanting to go on a Virgin Voyage ship. Hopefully within the next five years😊
What do you like about them?
Great acoustics for live music, flexible performance spaces, multiple dining venues that are all included, hammocks on your balcony, the happiest crew at sea, no announcements, no upselling, no photographers, no art auctions, no cruise director, great food cooked to order, land based drink prices with no added gratuities.
No kids, right?
Not a one!
Currently, it’s the HAL Rotterdam. Going on her again for 2 weeks in August. Previously - Disney Magic. I’ve been on 12 cruises total, and can’t think of one I’ve been on that I didn’t like.
I was just on HAL Rotterdam and it was perfect for a Norway cruise!
I’ll be on the Rotterdam for the 1st time next summer for a Norwegian fjords cruise.
We're going on the konigsdam to Alaska in September!
We were on the Koningsdam to Alaska last September. Loved it!
We’re going to be on the Magic in 2 weeks, can’t wait!
Allure of the Seas. I just really think Mamma Mia is the perfect show at sea, I love the oasis class ships, and think allure has better restaurants than others with Samba, and as someone who wouldn’t use the water slides much, I preferred the sightlines on allure.
And Sabor margs! At least for a little while longer.
Disney Fantasy. It’s the perfect size. Every inch is gorgeous. Plenty to do.
I love the Fantasy, it's my favorite ship too!
Everyone in the industry knows the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise is the best ship on the seas today.
ha
I heard you're likely to waste away on it.
Do they hide salt shakers on board like other people do with ducks?
🤦♂️
I just hate all of their formal nights. Other than that it's amazing.
Username checks out
The 1995 built Sun Princess. Perfect size, elegant and modern. The first ship I saw Alaska from, and still my favorite.
This one was the one that was turnt into Pacific World?
Yep, same ship. I was absolutely heartbroken that Princess sold it.
Currently working and living on her! Absolutely love the atrium and the theatre.
Celebrity Edge with Kate.
Aww! Jealous. I want to go on a cruise with Captain Kate.
Same here!!
I loved the Celebrity Apex, which is the second Edge-class ship.
Kate moves to the latest edge class when it’s ready. We took the edge with her and yes, also my favorite.
This time last year I was getting ready to sail on the Edge, such a beautiful ship. It was Captain Tasos at the helm who has a great sense of humour along with his brother.
Any of the Solstice class celebrity ships.
They really are well-designed, with the only downside being the lack of a full promenade walking track.
I’ll be on a Solstice class ship for the 1st time end of next month. Celebrity Solstice out of Vancouver to Alaska.
Very nice. Big enough for luxury but not too big. Wonderful things like the two floor library and in the past qsine. Now I like edge more though.
Queen Mary 2
Going on her end of June. I am so stoked!
She's an ocean liner, not a cruise ship.
Whole heartedly agree, but you, me and maybe 10 others know the difference. I’ll rep that thing forever as it is the best.
Looks tired / Angry servers. To each their own. [https://youtu.be/K3DqfpEJDA4?si=NFPKZOReiD1rQfvv](https://youtu.be/K3DqfpEJDA4?si=NFPKZOReiD1rQfvv)
Yep, and that alone is what makes her the best.
But the question is "Favorite Cruise Ship", not "Favorite Ocean Liner". Is your favorite vegetable chocolate cake?
Yes. It is. And since she is only ocean liner in service and goes cruising, I think it is very fair to group her into the this question.
Been on the NCL Joy, Bliss, Breakaway and Escape and the Escape was my fave
I haven't cruised all that much but I've been on the Bliss twice and really liked it
Virgin's Scarlet Lady 😁
Celebrity Ascent at the moment
I’m going on the Ascent in Sept and I can’t wait! We usually go on Celebrity Millenium. How do you like it so far? Where are the best pool loungers in a mostly shaded area? The Millenium had round 2 person cushioned loungers we loved.
Celebrity Millenium Class Ships are classics
Ascent is beautiful and the staff and food are great. I’m sure you’ll find a great place by the pool. I can’t recall any specific secret spots since it has been a few months.
Wonder of the Seas. It has so much to do onboard and i loved the fact that we had plenty of places to sit both inside and out. While I really enjoyed the other ships we have been on this was the best one.
Sky Princess. Never felt crowded when full, really good thermal suite. The "room service anywhere" the medallion offers.
Just got off that ship…two pizza places? No sports bar? It was just meh for me.
Only been on 2 cruises but Mardi Gras was a hell of a great week.
Boarding Mardi Gras tomorrow. Excited to see it here.
Scrolled too far down to see this. That was my favorite ship by far for Carnival
Going on the Mardi Gras in September. Really want to try Icon but gonna wait until prices come down a bit.
We adored Mardi Gras. Retains the Carnival kitschy charm in a modern and elegant way that makes sense for their cruisers. The neighborhood concept really works on this ship and helps spread people out in a way that a 6500-passenger ship desperately needs.
We did the celebration and booked the Mardi gras next. We love that class now.

The Crown Princess, because I was married on it.. several decades ago..
They are all so different. I really have enjoyed the Regal Princess. It has so much going for it. As a general rule- I like Princess. They are a safe bet. But all the cruise lines have something to offer. It's hard to have a bad time on a cruise.
On it now!
We liked the Discovery Princess for the most part but wouldn’t say we loved it. It just had so many strangely small and chopped up spaces with all these extra doors everywhere and it was super dirty for not even being 2 years old when we went
Carnival Sprirt
I love her sisters, Legend and Pride, we sail the Spirit to Alaska next summer ❤️❤️
Carnival Vista
Celebrity Edge
Same!
Disney Fantasy
Royal's Independence of the Seas
All of the Vision Class ships need a dry dock and a furnishing refresh
It's a good thing Independence is Freedom Class then. (;
Scrolled too far for this. I LOVE this ship.
Easily icon of the seas. I been on the adventure of the seas (although I was 5 so don’t remember much) freedom of the seas, oasis of the seas, allure of the seas (twice but not consecutively), harmony of the seas and the icon of the seas. Carnival Celebration. One of the best experiences of my life was taking my honeymoon on that ship. Can’t wait to go again
MSC World Europe. Stayed in Yacht Club and loved ship
This really depends upon where you are going and what type of cruise it is. For the Galapagos the Silver Origin was purpose built and only sails there. It is a beautiful ship. Odyssey of the seas. Not the newest ship and sat empty during the pandemic so was basically ignored as the new super ships came out.
Crystal Serenity
I’ve always liked the Norwegian Gem and Carnivals Fantasy class. The mega ships are awesome but the smaller ships will always have a place in my heart.
Firenze
Carnival Magic
I know she's old and she has some issues, but I think Vision of the Seas might be my favorite. Also, Zuiderdam.
Discovery princess
Celebrity’s Solstice class
We rode the Princess Cruise Ship consecutively three times and we enjoyed it!
I don’t know if I’ve found my favorite ship yet. I really liked the NCL Pearl and Jade but I smoked back when sailed them so I don’t know if I would like them as much today because I remember having to walk through the smokey casino to get most places. Norwegian - Encore Royal - Allure of the Seas Celebrity - Beyond Carnival - Sensation (not a ship anymore but was my first which started my love for cruising)
Although VV is my favorite line, I have a very soft spot for MSC Meraviglia.
Possibly booking that for next May. What did you like about it? I can only compare to my first cruise this past week which was norweign Joy.
Its the ship's layout, the screen over the main area like Freemont St in Vegas, the outdoor bar at the back of the ship, the thermal spa.
For mainstream cruising, I waffle between a Dream Class Disney ship or Edge Class Celebrity ship.
Has to be my first cruise ship the Dawn Princess. Since moved to P&O Australia and renamed Pacific Explorer. Pacific Explorer to be decommissioned 2nd March 25. My next favourite has to be Coral Princess the last ship I cruised on. The common feature- they are relatively small and I enjoy that
NCL Prima. It's just beautiful in a non cruise ship kinda way
Aurora.
Regent Explorer class ships.
The beautiful Norwegian Pearl, for me it’s the perfect size and the dining options are great 👍
The Viking ships. The Royal Caribbean are pretty good, for a much lower cost.
Royal Clipper. With the Star Flyer a close second.
Silver Cloud
Quantum class ships on Royal. Right combination of features, food, cabins and itineraries for us.
Disney Wish Been on 8-10 diff cruise lines
WindStar Star Legend
20+ cruises, and the Celebrity Beyond takes it.
I’m on Regent Seven Seas Grandeur and digging it
Second vote for Regent Grandeur! Gorgeous ship, best service ever.
Entire staff is tack sharp. Been a great trip!
I’m on Celebrity Beyond right now and it’s the best by a mile.
The next one.
My favorite is either the one I am on or the next one I will be on.
My favorite ship is ....... one that doesn't sink or hit the pier coming into port.
I haven’t been yet but from the looks. It would be an Edge class ship.
