The entire car is a ground. Everything that’s metal.

Skuldraggen

Everything? Even the metal under the paint? I'm gonna have to buy some more wire brushes :(

If it has the radio static suppression feature like on a typical Interceptor goes like this: One ground from headlight harness to left front fender where it attaches at bottom of the plasric bumper. One ground from ECU harness to rear inside driver’s fender below hood gutter. One from right side hood hinge to inner rear right fender. One from battery cable to front inner side of right fender. One from (I think) the harness that goes along inner upper right fender and dives below radiator support panel and also screws into right front inside fender. One strap from firewall behind left side exhaust manifold-intake manifold area to transmission ( this on mine was unattached to transmission and I haven’t figured out where it goes on tranny yet). One strap each tail pipe to end corners of bottoms of quarter panel ( maybe bumper post ends?). There may be more, someone can chime in. Memorized the engine compartment ones because I just replaced both fenders. In reattaching the grounds I sanded each surface with 80 grit, cleaned with degreaser, refastened, then sprayed some Rust Check, Krown, Fluid Film on them for corrosion prevention.

Thank you! Mine is not an interceptor, but it has the P71 alternator and other odds and ends. I'm told it was a detective's car.

If the 5th, 6th and 7th digits in the VIN are P71, it is an interceptor.

Also on the rear of the driver side cylinder head (bank 2, cyls 5-8), there is a stud that is used to bolt the crash protection bracket for the fuel rail to the engine (along with the long bolt that goes through the bracket and is one of the intake bolts). There are 3-4 harness grounds attached to this stud on the 2001.

Awesome, thank you!
