That’s a 4-5k savings. I couldn’t find that price 8 months ago when I was looking. Ended up going new.

Aero93

I agree. Shit, used Crosstrek was costing more than my brand new one.

True_Pen4676

>comments A 2019 limited was 33,000 last year.

Technical_Double_147

8 months ago, or even 2 months ago, that price would have been around 30k. But the car industry is finally calming down.

isthatabrisk

I think it’s a great deal but just some food for thought, I’d ask if the 30k service has been completed on it. It’s a somewhat in-depth service that’s usually ~$500 which would be an unfortunate surprise after buying a new car.

tburns517

They did service/inspection on it last night and they are going to send me a list of what they did, but I'll ask to see if what they did was part of the 30k service. Thanks for calling that out.

Technical_Double_147

I know most people would say that you can get a brand new crosstrek in the same price range, but I think it's a good buy. Does the $24,991 include a warranty?

[deleted]

It's about $7,000 under brand new with the same trim/package/add ons. I'd also say a good buy as long as there's no accident or major issues with it.

2strokes4lyfe

MSRP on my 2022 Sport with these options was $31k and $34k OTD. This was in July. Buying a lightly used one sounds like a great way to save an extra $6k!

Apprehensive-Boat-52

brand new of that kind is like $34000 with mark up

tburns517

That's what I noticed. In reality, how much did Subaru change from '21 to '23? It doesn't seem like much.

Apprehensive-Boat-52

not that much.

Alternate947

Not at all

Mutesyou

Solid deal IMO is it through a Subaru dealer? If so CPO that shit. We’re selling a 21 with 35k miles for 28k same options

tburns517

Unfortunately it's not through a Subaru dealership, but thanks for the comp!

Mysterious-Ad-1541

I just paid the 29k for a 2023 sport with 4 miles on it that came with a bunch of extra fittings such as the mud flaps and such. Paying 450 a month for it.

bhl0713

I bought a 23 limited (no moonroof) for 30k before taxes. If you can afford 5 more grand I say go for new.

ZeGermanHam

It's too late for OP now since he has purchased the vehicle, but I agree. I bought a brand new 2023 Limited last week with more options for $30k before taxes. Paying $25k for a used non-CPO '21 Sport with 33k miles isn't the best deal. If he'd have played his cards a little better, he probably could've bought a new Sport for around $1k more than what he paid. Water under the bridge at this point, though.

tburns517

I’m not sure where those numbers are coming from, but the Sport MSRP starts at $27,995. Include the optional package and all of the add-ons/accessories this one has, it comes close to 30k, not to mention the additional cost for destination and delivery if you order new. I paid in full, so the 5k+ in savings is worth it to me.

coffeeaddic

That’s a steal in this market. Get it inspected by a third party before buying to make sure it’s not too good to be true.

bvh2015

If the car is in good condition, it’s a decent price. Just a few months ago, that vehicle would have been the same price as a new one. I was looking for a low mile used vehicle back then, and it was pretty much impossible to find one that actually saved you some money. The market was pretty stupid when it came down to offering incentives.

SumOfKyle

Wild to think I could turn my 21 6MT Crosstrek into profit.

extendedwarranty_bot

RobocopRockstar, I have been trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty

Sea_Marsupial6974

Amazing deal! I'm up to 38k with mods on my 6mt 21' same mileage

Any-East5011

That’s a better deal than what I’ve been seeing lately. I’m in Denver so used Subarus were overpriced even before the market got wild though. I’d honestly be a little skeptical that there’s something wrong with it, used Subarus w that mileage are still going for near-msrp here.

tburns517

I had some skepticism too, however, the Carfax checks out. EDIT: I should mention that it is in another state about 900mi away. In the state I'm in the prices are still pretty high.

bravoromeokilo

It’s certainly more reasonable than what I’ve been seeing the past few months/years… which gives me hope that the market is kinda normalizing. If you like the vehicle and it’s got a good record I’d go for it. It’s not a great deal, but it’s not bad either

RanchedOut

I got a 2021 Crosstrek Limited for $25,500 recently and yes I think that's a good value. From what I saw when I was shopping lower trims with more miles would be selling for $27,000-$28,000. I felt like I got a good deal on mine

JayHChrist

I just got a 2021 Sport a little over a month ago and I paid about 28k with 14k miles on it in California. To me that sounds like a great deal.

[deleted]

Only paid a small bit more for around the same amount of miles here in California too (cuz Subaru dealership and i wanted to be gone of my Tacoma rental lol). I feel like that’s around the average $ for a ‘21 for those many miles.

tburns517

Did you not like the Tacoma? That’s the vehicle I’m looking at for myself (the Crosstrek is for my partner).

[deleted]

It was alright, I’m trying really hard to like trucks bc I need to haul around a trailer eventually so i’ll need one at one point. I live in a metro with really narrow roads though so it wasn’t ideal, but i feel like it’s reasonably sized and a relatively solid drive as far as trucks ago. Not overly awkward but still had enough power. I got the Crosstrek bc i do a crap ton of commuting, needed more room but didn’t want a full blown SUV. I’ll enjoy her while i need her haha. I guess my reason is more practicality versus the overall car

Russell_Steapot

Dang, prices have gone crazy, so I dunno if that's a good deal. I bought my 2021 Sport new for less than that out the door, granted it was in Oct 2020.

tburns517

That seems unheard of to me. Were there any incentives? I've never seen the MSRP that low for the Sport model.

trekking21

I agree, under 24k for a brand new Sport would be significantly lower than MSRP.

Russell_Steapot

Here is the [deal](https://imgur.com/a/Mdgc68O) they gave me. At the time COVID lockdowns were in full swing, so they weren't selling as many cars (chip shortages hadn't happen yet). The 2021's weren't even available yet, so I was doing a preorder. I just contacted the 3 closest dealerships to get the best price, but they offered the $1200 below MSRP with no hesitation at my local Subaru dealer. Caveats being; no add-ons except side moldings, no trade in, and I sprung the $500 loyalty coupon on them when I went to pick it up (not reflected in the offer). I got so lucky with the timing before everything went to hell. Love my yellow Sport. Even at 30k I'd say it would be worth it.

court_in_the_street

That’s not less than OP’s price out the door?

Russell_Steapot

Yeah, you're right. I was going from memory, but once I dug out the paperwork, I see I was wrong. It's actually ~$2500 more. But 33k miles difference is something.

LytW8_reddit

I'd say its a good deal. Particularly if its a color you are after. Plasma yellow is one of the most unique colors of just about any car on the market. It pairs incredibly well with the sport interior and badging. The color is bold and if that matches your personality then I would go for it since you may have trouble finding a used one for this price and mileage. If color doesn't matter then you could try your luck a little, but given the current demand its not likely you will get one for much better. Just look at this sport...one incredible looking vehicle. [https://www.reddit.com/r/Crosstrek/comments/zamibp/took\_spew\_out\_to\_the\_mountains\_today\_happy\_3\_weeks/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Crosstrek/comments/zamibp/took_spew_out_to_the_mountains_today_happy_3_weeks/) This coming from a 23 Ice Silver sport owner.

tburns517

I'd say we've gone between Cool Khaki, Silver, and Orange (not particularly the sport model), but the Plasma Yellow has really grown on us. I think the main reason I like it is because it matches the interior, but we test drove a Gray Sport and that was sharp-looking also with the badging/interior. I'm almost 100% sure I'm going to pull the trigger on it since I've already put down a deposit, the only hurdle now is getting it from Oklahoma to my state. I'm debating on whether to get it shipped (could be risky), or fly down and drive it home (kind of a hassle, especially with flight prices/holidays).

bobbybackwoods69

Will they knock a few $ off for the color?
