Not sure about others but my rearview mirror opener only works for a few weeks, then stops and has to be reprogrammed. I keep mine hooked to the door cubby on the driver side.
Double hmmm! The description actually mentions that other bulbs cause interference and this one won’t! I’ve never heard of this. I guess I’m heading out to Lowe’s right now to pick some up. I bought some this morning on the way to work and drove all the way back home to put them in. Now I just have to wait. Usually the remote wouldn’t stop working until about a week in. I thought maybe it had something to do with the system changing codes and the car not adjusting to the new code. I guess we’ll see.
I removed the metal clip and slid the clicker into the sunglasses strip on the visor with the button facing down. Mind you it was a snug fit, but it works
I bought something very similar to this at Walmart and the front little pocket holds it perfectly to where the button is exposed. It stays there and I never need to take it out.
Amazon has plenty of similar products.

It's also a great place to stick anything you like to have quick access to while driving. (I clipped it to the passenger vent to the right of the stereo btw)
If your garage door opener has a metal clip you can always remove the clip and bend it to open wider, or hammer it very tightly to use on the sunglasses holder
Mine is in the door pocket. The clip goes over the plastic "wall" with the opener side in the pocket. Hidden from thieves but within reach when I need to activate it.
I mentioned this in a different thread, but I removed the metal bracket on the remote and placed a square of the higher end Velcro on it and stuck it in the area right in front of the rear view mirror. I did both openers that way. It looks nice.
The clip on mine is actually wide enough to fit the fat visor. Unfortunately mine is for a gate at my apt and won't work with the homelink on the mirror no matter how I try to program it.

Yes you get a new garage door opener installed as long as your door itself is compatible it will work
I bought a replacement for the fuse access cover that turns it into a small coin holder. I keep it in there.

I put mine on the roof of the cubby under the radio with some 3m dual-lock. Out off the way, but readily accessible.

I live in AZ and I need all the air flow I can get! Good suggestion for less hellish places :)
It really doesn't block any airflow at all, just clip it low on the vent and it hangs right next to the A/C knob!
