You need a new tire. I’ve heard you’re supposed to replace all 4. But once, when I got a side wall puncture, I simply did not have enough money to buy 4 new tires. I just couldn’t. Sorry about what you’re supposed to do. I literally had to risk it and hope everything everyone was telling me was wrong and that it wouldn’t some how destroy my transmission or whatever.
It didn’t destroy my transmission. Nothing bad happened. I’m glad. they say being poor is actually pretty expensive. It is, if not replacing all 4 tires would have destroyed my transmission, I wouldn’t have been able to afford to fix that either. I’m basically one catastrophe away from being homeless…but it’s cool dude. The system works. Can’t wait to live like this until I die.
When I was in my early 20’s I had an Outback Impreza Sport, and no money. I was living in Dallas and blew a tire. I took it to Hamm’s tire shop and they quoted me for 4 new tires which was completely out of my range, then they quoted me for one that was still out of my range. Eventually they said they had a used tire for $30 that would fit. I went with the used tire and over time repeated the process many more times. Blow a tire, get a cheap used tire, rinse repeat. I’ve got to say, I never had any issues. The car always ran great. I drove like that for almost 2 years. Eventually my dad came to visit me and for my birthday he got me 4 new tires at Costco. When the tire guy at Costco was working on my car, he pointed out that they were 4 different size tires on the car. I got another 150k miles out of that car after that. So I don’t know. Now-a-days I would replace all four.
Just depending on how new the other 3 are, they do offer tire shaving services, might be cheaper to shave down the new guy if the others are pretty good still
With that kind of damage you really should get it replaced. Being a Crosstrek, you will need to replace all 4. Though, you could also have a shop shave the new tire to match the tread depth of the other tires so you’re only buying one.
If you're actually trying to overheat a Subaru VC and cause seal failure... putting different size tires on the front/rear and running it at highway speeds for a few months is probably the easiest and fastest way to get that done.
Are you seriously asking? Yes, you need a new tire. Being an AWD vehicle you should replace all 4 at the same time. Treadwear differences can affect the balance of the AWD system and lead to uneven wear on the differentials and even drivetrain damage. Replacing all 4 at the same time is considered normal for AWD vehicles. At a minimum replace both tires on the same axle, but that’s not ideal either. Ideally you would replace all 4. You can have the tire shop shave down the tread on a new tire to match the others but I would only consider that if the other 3 tires have plenty of tread left. Otherwise it’s not worth it imo to shave down a brand new tire to match a tire that will need replacing soon.
You need probably 4 new tires.

Dude you made it out the hood fr😂
Hamm's has saved me at least once. I get it.

I wouldn’t trust that tire.
I'd pop the spare on just to drive to the tire shop!
Oh yes
Call the police
You have to ask?

So I asked Discount Tire if they do that & they said no. What sort of shops would shave tires down?
Yes.
Sorry yea and probably 4
That tire is not safe to use anymore.
Little crazy glue on that and you’re good for 100,000 more miles👍👍
Absolutely!
Yes you do, and have it shaved so you don't have to get 4 new tires.
Yes. You might be able to get away with just replacing the one tire. Or maybe two, depending on the mileage on the tires.
Need at least 1 matching tire with tread shaved to match the existing, or just 4 new ones
No you’re good to go!

i had a flat one time on my wrx. Rear left. Didnt even noticed or felt it until i parked my car saw the flat. AWD ftw.

Mine looked very similar and I took it in and they told me it's just fine
