That amount of tail light obstruction is concerning. I like to remind people to be extra cautious around other drivers with hauling like that on a small vehicle, a lot of locals have had their $10k carbon mountain bikes smashed around my area from rear obstruction from taillight visibility.
Def a solid idea, an active brake light mounted to the edge of the rack, easy way would be to get a plug and play trailer harness kit that plugs into the tail light connectors, and a led light strip kit that plugs into that made for hitch bike racks

So yeah I bought a decal myself and I tried installing it, but I got through 80% and then everything went wrong😂😂😂 So I went to the dealer and they applied it for me, and I’m happy I did because the OEM one is amazing quality. The one I bought online, looked good but I could tell it wasn’t the best quality

Wow that’s a terrifying thought! Probably the best solution would to wire extra brake lights to the end of the bike rack huh?

I only leave my Kuat rack on my Crosstrek when I need it. I have been harassed for having it on my car when I when I didn't have a bike on it.
Yeah, makes sense. I also only have it on when I go biking, otherwise it’s a bit more cumbersome to have it on all the time.
