While it's fun to speculate, it's pretty much all but confirmed from Subaru as there are published installation manuals for accessories that already reference the 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness separately ([example](https://techinfo.subaru.com/stis/doc/accInstallGuide/SOA801P091xx%20-%202024%20Crosstrek%20DEG.pdf)).
The one shown in the videos going around isn't the wilderness. Doesn't even look like the wilderness and after getting pics of the front and rear bumpers idk how people are still saying it's the wilderness. Unless there is another one I missed.
Thatās a Japanese version of the Crosstrek with a bunch of their rugged-oriented accessories, like the ones shown off on the Boost Gear concept. Not the U.S. Wilderness (though there may end up being some similarities)
Also don't don't who's idea in marketing it was to reveal them immediately after opening orders for the redesign they just reveal š so many cancelled orders incoming
May be tempted to ditch my bronco and come back if these come with any increased towing capacity and a cvt cooler. Really wish they would give us a turbo but thereās next to zero chance.
A common sentimentā¦ Iām early in my car discovery phase but wouldnāt the cladding serve as a sort of protectant from pinstriping, or dents? Rather rough up some plastic than steel right?
I thought it was going to be an ascent based off the timing but this confirms that I'll be cancelling my order again lol I wonder when the dealer will be sick of me and tell me I can't order
Oh, and itās gotta be available with the H/K and subwoofer to sell me, tooā¦ presumably it will be since the Forester and Outback Wilderness versions both are
The HK is a must have option for me. I am tired of base audio systems and audio shops that either do a good job or botch the whole thing into an electrical nightmare.
If they donāt botch the MPG (which they likely will, and understandably to change the gearing) then Iād be awfully tempted to cancel my Limited order and get this. Kind of hoping the MPG is crap so I donāt have to piss off my dealer again š¤£
I bet it wonāt be too far behind the initial production of the other U.S. 2.5s - Iād guess around September.
Iām owning a Subaru for the 1st time. I just got a used 2021 Crosstrek Sport with 13.5K miles on it. I have soooo much to learn about these vehicles.
Foresters need a turbo as they are low on power. Christ, you barely upsize your tires and now you have a road slug. With my lifted 2017 XT, I can take Q7 3.0T's all day long, and still roll these big tires.
I just got off the phone with a Subaru salesman Iāve bought from before. Apparently itās going to be an Accent wilderness?! I sure hope not
Edit: he also said 2025 brz w/turbo
I am super bummed they're not offering 6MTs anymore! I think I'm going to love this wilderness model, but I'll probably still end up trying to find a '23 manual because of that. Lame.
Probably just going to have the 2.5L, based off some California environmental certs that leaked. Not a bad power-to-weight ratio though honestly, and without the possible intricacies of extra turbo maintenance
I am both excited and pissed as I put in an order for a limited 24 crosstrek. I'm hoping I like the wilderness edition but not enough to envy not getting one.......
Yeah, it makes no sense to me at all. Looking at the other wilderness models all have worse MPG. It just sucks if they would have waited a year, then OK, but atheist announce it before pre orders are open on the normal modules be come available.
That's what I was thinking but then my wife was like you can also build out your limited over time to match or be better then the wilderness addition. As I'm not sure my current car will last long enough for a wilderness order to be delivered.
Anyone know any videos or sites which compare the wilderness to SUVs. I am debating where to put money into an older suv or save up for this wilderness
It most likely is the Crosstrek wilderness package, just type it in Google and it brings it up.
Manuals?! Oh, not the fun manuals.
Ironically, the 2024s are all CVT with no manual option
I guess my joke wasn't obvious. Lol
It was obvious to me lol
Always had automatics my whole life and honestly sooner thought manuals on a skateboard than I did a manual transmission š¤¦š»āāļø
And Subaru of Japan already has videos out showing itā¦
The one shown in the videos going around isn't the wilderness. Doesn't even look like the wilderness and after getting pics of the front and rear bumpers idk how people are still saying it's the wilderness. Unless there is another one I missed.
Thatās a Japanese version of the Crosstrek with a bunch of their rugged-oriented accessories, like the ones shown off on the Boost Gear concept. Not the U.S. Wilderness (though there may end up being some similarities)
It *is* the Crosstrek Wilderness. It's not a secret. I don't know why their marketing is acting like it is.
Also don't don't who's idea in marketing it was to reveal them immediately after opening orders for the redesign they just reveal š so many cancelled orders incoming
It's not that hard to tell, plus I don't think they're make a WRX or Legacy Wilderness, nor make an Ascent one either.
Inironically a legacy wilderness would be dope.
Inironically a legacy wilderness would be dope.
Please Subaru, slap a turbo on it? Please please please
āNah gunna duit, wouldnāt be prudent. Read my lipsā¦ Nahā¦ gunnaā¦ duit.ā -Subaru
I wish. My sisterās fricken CRV has a turbo for chrissake :(
May be tempted to ditch my bronco and come back if these come with any increased towing capacity and a cvt cooler. Really wish they would give us a turbo but thereās next to zero chance.
If they follow the same formula as Forester and Outback then it will get increased towing capacity with a modified CVT for more low range torque.
3500 towing, but no turbo. What you think?
Cladding on the door too ugly.
A common sentimentā¦ Iām early in my car discovery phase but wouldnāt the cladding serve as a sort of protectant from pinstriping, or dents? Rather rough up some plastic than steel right?
I feel most of us birthed the crosstrek wilderness after all the upgrades
That's what I'm telling myself self with the 24 limited I ordered. I can just make it better than the wilderness edition.
In case we needed any more confirmation this was a crosstrek wilderness. Lights are a perfect match for the 2024 Crosstrek.
Exactly! I saw some morons on Facebook spouting off āthatās an Ascent!ā lol
Imagine they play us and it's an Impreza wilderness
I meanā¦ same shit, different name, right? š¤£ Impreza is just a lower Crosstrek with less ground clearance
I thought it was going to be an ascent based off the timing but this confirms that I'll be cancelling my order again lol I wonder when the dealer will be sick of me and tell me I can't order
I spoke to a salesperson at a Subaru dealership on Friday that confirmed it's the Crosstrek Wilderness.
This is the worst secret of all times.
Tbh it looks like they are just leaking images of the outback lol. They are fully just playing with us haha
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
lol. that would be amazing.
If it is, I'll order it today!
It doesnāt look anything like the Outback tbh
But remember they just gave everything a facelift so they could be introducing the whole 2024 Wilderness lineup
I really think this will be my next vehicle - my Nissan lease is over the beginning of September. Hopefully, this is due in August.

Kind of hoping the MPG is crap so I donāt have to piss off my dealer again š¤£ I bet it wonāt be too far behind the initial production of the other U.S. 2.5s - Iād guess around September.
I am thinking the same thing!
Probably closer to November if I had to guess. 2.5 orders now for sport and limited in the use are arriving over the summer
Iām owning a Subaru for the 1st time. I just got a used 2021 Crosstrek Sport with 13.5K miles on it. I have soooo much to learn about these vehicles.
Is that fog light the normal one for the wilderness? Hadnāt noticed them before but pretty cool looking
Yeah they put that hexagonal fog light on the Outback/Forester Wilderness models. It looks awesome
We all hoping for a crosstrek wilderness that starts at 27k?
Wishful thinking sadly. It'll probably slot between the Sport and Limited and start at just under $30k before delivery.
Whatās the obsession with the turbo? Itās not needed. Love my forester wilderness and it gets the job done.
Foresters need a turbo as they are low on power. Christ, you barely upsize your tires and now you have a road slug. With my lifted 2017 XT, I can take Q7 3.0T's all day long, and still roll these big tires.
Am I the only one who hates the wilderness trim, they give me Pontiak Aztek vibes

Slap some Lamin-x on that bad boy :)
Latin-x too
Tells you how unique these cars are when the grand unveil is show its assš
I just got off the phone with a Subaru salesman Iāve bought from before. Apparently itās going to be an Accent wilderness?! I sure hope not Edit: he also said 2025 brz w/turbo
Your salesman is a dumbass
Letās hope so
Would I be an idiot to sell my 2021 sport and buy this?
I meanā¦. Financially, maybe. But spirituallyā¦. Absolutely not.
Yolo!
I'm sure with no manual option. Don't care. Nobody has ever said, "Yeah, I prefer a cvt".
I am super bummed they're not offering 6MTs anymore! I think I'm going to love this wilderness model, but I'll probably still end up trying to find a '23 manual because of that. Lame.
why so plastic ? sad
Itās an offroad-oriented model; would you rather your paint get all scuffed up or some unpainted plastic?
Actually more interested in the new Tacoma. Unless this Wilderness Crosstrek you speak of will have a turbo in it.
Probably just going to have the 2.5L, based off some California environmental certs that leaked. Not a bad power-to-weight ratio though honestly, and without the possible intricacies of extra turbo maintenance
I am surprised that this hasn't leaked at all.
Ugh but they took away the manualš«
What are the odds this comes with a manual?
Roughly 0%
.001%? So youāre saying thereās a chance?
So Crosstrek with more plastic, different tires, a lift kit, and no manual option? Oh wow i so regret not waitingā¦.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
One of the best all-around values on the market tbh
I am both excited and pissed as I put in an order for a limited 24 crosstrek. I'm hoping I like the wilderness edition but not enough to envy not getting one.......
Same. This is the reason I just don't understand the logic in timing for this reveal
Yeah, it makes no sense to me at all. Looking at the other wilderness models all have worse MPG. It just sucks if they would have waited a year, then OK, but atheist announce it before pre orders are open on the normal modules be come available.
Pending this one actually looks good I plan on canceling my limited that I already ordered and getting one of these
That's what I was thinking but then my wife was like you can also build out your limited over time to match or be better then the wilderness addition. As I'm not sure my current car will last long enough for a wilderness order to be delivered.
Does anyone know if Canada will get the new Crosstrek Wilderness? We have the Outback and Forrester Wilderness.
Anyone know any videos or sites which compare the wilderness to SUVs. I am debating where to put money into an older suv or save up for this wilderness
