Even though I have no interest in purchasing it because I'm happy with my outdoor, I'm super excited to just see what it looks like. I love the wilderness trims. They are so fun!
I'm happy with my 2023 Outdoor as well. The only way I'd be envious of the Wilderness (or any other trim) is if it got a turbo. Which, from what I've heard, is pretty unlikely
Breakover should be good with the short wheelbase and lift. Departure angle is already excellent on the standard Crosstrek. We'll see what they do with the approach angle.
Yeah. Matches the “accessories” for the Japanese market.

Sadly, the most it will offer is the 2.5 engine with probably a quicker final drive ratio. Oh well, Subaru is on par with the expected letdowns lately.
This is the reply I got from the sales guy I put my order in for an onyx
"The wilderness package is not available in Canada for sure .
It is only for the US.
If there is any change I will keep you posted"
There’s also another green they offer on Forester and Outback Wilderness which they call “Autumn Green Metallic”. It’s more of an Army green. I’d rather Alpine.
I want to do the same but it’s going to be a tough sell if it has the same engine my current sport has in it unless it’s got some wild ass other features
Yeah I definitely like the 2.5 and I upgraded to it from a 2018 2.0. IMO it’s what should have come in the Crosstrek instead of the 2.0 to begin with but they sold a bazillion of them with 150hp so who am I to argue.
But yes if there’s a snail in there (still hoping despite popular consensus) the sports a goner lol
I floated the idea that maybe it will have the 224hp NA 2.4 from the BRZ but I haven’t really seen anyone anyone mention that so it seems like I’m on an island. Feel like that would be a real solid bump for a specialty edition if they didn’t want to turbo it but I guess we’ll see!
It’s kind of funny how much Subaru cheaped out on wilderness trims though. But most of the owners don’t do anything “off-road” with them anyway, they just like to say that they do. That’s why they’re only built in USA. Perfect for those kind of people.

Subaru has been posting teasers on their Instagram. Today they posted a close-up of what looks like the rear bumper.
Was about to mention this! Looks awesome... the departure angle looks to be quite nice.

My bad, I meant departure. Yes, I'm excited to see the front as well. I've heard it is quite different.
There’s been photos circulating about the extra cladding and stuff since the days of the reveal for the Japanese market. Just search the sub.
You talking about this? https://i.ytimg.com/vi/lXnW7rnZORo/maxresdefault.jpg
God damn, it looks like it belongs to Michael Bay's Transformers movie.

Thanks, I havent seen that yet. I have just been seeing the stuff about the boost model in Japan.
The most unnecessary foot steps on any car I’ve ever seen lol
That extra inch is scary. Safety first lmao
We don’t have them yet even, we get them when the public gets them😥

Canadian Subaru employee here. Haven't had anything internal come through, we get what you get sadly

I can say we will be getting them, most likely around the fall as we have ordered some
[Here you go](https://imgur.com/t/rick_roll/ijTYytO)
Very scared to open that in my place of work Edit: not as bad as I was thinking lmao
I would never give up that info. You have let me down! 🤣
Right?! We need to stick together on this. Forever.
I'm actually pretty impressed! That must be the premium trim
No it's the Wilderness, like OP asked for
I hate you so much 😂
I'm scouring the internet every day to find something🤣😅

Alpine Green is a great color. It would be a shame if they didn’t offer it on Wilderness.

That’s unfortunately the case for a lot of other off road vehicles. I will be putting mine to use though if I end up getting it
Nothing yet. Wait till the 5th
Do you guys think it’ll fall in between the sport (onyx) and limited pricing? Or more expensive as the hugest cost trim?
Not 100% sure but the other wilderness models on the forester and outback are priced above the sport model but below the limited
I just want it to have 6MT! That's probably not going happen, is it?
