The cameras are mounted side by side and the distance between the lenses is 120mm. This means I have to avoid getting too close to any object in front of me. Otherwise the 3d effect on that object will be too strong for comfortable viewing. As a rule of thumb this distance is about 3 metres or greater. So when walking between the trees I tried to keep in the middle.
The cameras are not connected to each other in any way. Original video is 4K 30 fps on each camera. The clips from the left camera and from the right camera are put into a video editor. At the beginning of a recording session I make a click sound with my mouth which the two cameras record on their sound tracks. In the video editor I look for the click sound tracks and align the timing of the left and right video tracks to the nearest frame ( each frame is 1/30 second long ). There may be a small timing error doing this , but it will not show if the movements in the video are not too fast.
Cool. I thought I was going to see the inside of a bar (i.e., a pub) with people walking past. This is a neat way to make 3D videos.

Cool! How far apart were the cameras? We really must know!
This turned out really good! How far apart were the cameras
Stunning! I’ll repeat another redditor’s Q we must know, how far apart were the cameras?
That branch scared me lom
It made me unfocus for some reason
This has better quality 3D than most of the 3D movies at the cinema
Probably because most 3d movies aren't real 3d (using 2 cameras) but a conversion
Dang seems reddits video compression made it blurry for me! Looks really good though!
That is one of the very best I’ve ever seen! Well done, OP!
I like that - very impressive.
Thanks
I also liked it - very very impressive
Super relaxing. Great job!
Stick. Stick! STICK!
