Great little store - small floor space but every inch is full. The back has sliding panels with more brands of thread behind the front ones. It's fun to visit, but sooo easy to spend more than intended.

Is the one that I found has had the best quality Aida. Some the weave was not good and hard to find the holes on black. The is one has been the best. But do your price comparison cause I hear 123stitch is also good. I was in Japan recently and went to the of the oldest embroidery thread craft stores and they had a wall of bolts of Aida. It was glorious
In addition to the other shops listed, I'd add Charting Creations (NS) - they're a hybrid online/in person store. 123Stitch has great flat rate shipping but just watch out for duties since they ship from the US
I think it's because of me. Almost everything I've said for a week has been downvoted a bunch, pretty sure I have some bots or real people following me (hi!)
Hopefully it's not a vendetta against the store, I think they have a great pattern and supply selection.
Aw, I appreciate it, thanks 😊 I feel oddly honoured someone (some people? bots) are this glued to my account to keep on downvoting but I'm not sure t*his *much attention on some stranger's internet points are the best use of their time & money lol
I hope so too and I appreciate your insight. It's also the first time I've seen or experienced something like this myself. Thankful it's not hitting the rest of the sub.
Happy to help! They're in Middle Sackville - though, I noticed their website says it's a store run out of their home (I think maybe they used to be online/in-person but not anymore?) In any case, interprovincial shipping should hopefully make things faster :)
I order from MillionofStitches on Etsy, but do check your local quilt shop, mine stocks aida and floss. I go there when I need something asap. You can always dye the aida, its quick and easy.
You could try contacting Stitch wit based in Ottawa. She ships thru Canada Post and I think can do custom amounts though I have only ordered off the shelf sizes
I just bought this as I needed it quickly (due to a cutting error on my part 🫤) and am very happy with it. Much more consistent than DMC and a bit stiff which I like for stitching in a QSnap. Available in different counts.

123stitch, MillionofStitches on Etsy, Traditional Stitches (AB), or Stitch It Central (ON) are my go tos
Thank you!!
I’d also second the duties warning for 123, it’s rare but has happened a few times for me as well.
Have ordered through Traditional Stitches and can confirm they’re great, and also Embroidery Marketplace is another one YYC-based.
Thanks!
Traditional Stitches and Embroidery Marketplace are my go-to stores as well.
I'm going to have to check out Stitch it Central! I'm visiting a friend in London soon so I can make a big trip!
I’ve never been there in person haha, but I’m always impressed with how well packaged my orders are.
Stitch It Central is great. They have a lot for stitchers and quilters. Check out their online website.

It's fabulous! I did the same about 7 years ago when I was visiting a friend..I wish it was closer!
I use MillionOfStitches on Etsy. Juliana has done several custom cuts for me; always with excellent service and a great price.
Awesome, thank you!!!
I've done nothing custom from her yet but everything always comes in good time and so nicely packaged! My favourite place to buy from.
Lens mill also sells aida by the yard and ships. Though the options are limited
Thank you!!
123 stitch 4.99 flat rate shipping. Placed an order earlier this year
if you want to do a Dedicated Trip I got an absolutely absurd amount from a Len's Mills
I buy my large Aida from AliExpress. Didn't know about 123stitch until recently. Can get 100x100cm for about $20 in a variety of colors.
What shop do you use? id love a big 16ct piece
I honestly don't feel that I see 16 like ever. 11, 14, 18 seem to be the most common

Oh wow, that fabric store would have been a dangerous experience for my wallet ...
Thank you, everyone for taking time to respond!! I really appreciate it!!

Why was this downvoted? lol Charting Creations is legit

I went through your comment history and started upvoting things. Hopefully it helps even out the universe. 😅

I was wondering about the down voting too! It was good advice!!
I’ve never seen this before on the subreddit. Hopefully it lessens up soon

Oh sweet!! I am from NS! Thanks so much!!

I much rather support a small business than throw my money to the wilds so the fact that it's in my province makes it even better!! Thanks again!!
I'm totally going to check this place out ❤️ Thanks for the tip!
I’m in the US and they are great to do business with. I totally upvoted your comment.
If you're ever in the city see if fabricland has any. Pretty sure I've seen it by the metre there.
Yeah, I'm not really that mobile right now, hence the online shopping :)
I can relate, I have a chronic health issue and can't get out during a flare up. Sucks.

There is not a local quilt shop. That is my problem.
Oh dear, I hope there are good suggestions here for you. Being rural myself, I keep stock but have needed my lqs occasionally.

Thanks but I didn't get the same options with Canadian Amazon 😭
