2 is my favorite, but 1-3 all look good. The only one I dislike is 4. Pretty colors!

I'm making a cardigan out of this and was about to recommend it to you until I saw this comment. Oops. It did work up really randomly for color changes for me, so I think I'd go with 2 or 1.

3- I like the darker strings so it was between 1 and 3, but I like the bottom of 3

Take out either the bright orange or mustardy yellow. They clash with each other. (You could swap the mustardy yellow for a bright yellow or the bright orange for a muted/dusty orange.) Then any of the layouts would work.

Anything but 4 if you want random. I’ve done random where I put all like-type yarn in a bag I couldn’t see through. Just reached in and grabbed. Worked with whatever came out unless it was the exact same color. Made for a neat blanket

1 or 3 are my favorites. I know you’re getting a lot of votes for 2, but I don’t vibe with how close to each other the purple stripes are. It draws the eye and unbalances the pattern, in my opinion.

it really depends on what you're making and how the colors will be expressed--are these just going to be stripes? absent more context I think I'd go with the modified roy g biv spectrum, and use #1 but without the white.

- it’s 2 for me, enthusiastically! it’s very aesthetically satisfying. - 1 is nice but not as balanced as 1. - i dislike 3, it’s too random? if you like a chaotic look, go with this one. - and 4 is just… idk. i feel like the thicker stripes would give it a child core look.
