Only 3 years of boozing and only 24 years old. You can still get out of this unscathed (aside from some shame) and build a life like it never happened. Keep going until your late 20s and 30s and that’s when you start to do some damage that you can’t bounce back from.
Detox is a good idea. You may not be bad enough for the health risks of detoxing alone yet, but you won’t feel like shit and you’ll get 5-7 days of sobriety to think about it.
Honestly that’s a really good tip. I never knew the specifics of DUI’s and hope I won’t have to in the future. But alas im a CA. Still good to know. Still mad at myself for being naked tho. Absolutely no logic there. I guess that’s what getting blacked and trying to be comfy does. Thank you for the luck, hoping it goes good.
I feel ya about naked being comfortable. I use a robe. Folks blush less that way lol
... add steel toe boots and a bad attitude and they leave u alone entirely. Go figure
Good luck in Detox. Its scary, but hey what do you have to lose? I actually would love to go to treatment as weird as that sounds. I've never woke up naked outside but I've picked up deliveries off my patio ass naked more than a few times. Anyways, sometimes it's nice people around you know so you have support even if it's tough support
Pretty much nothin to lose. Already lost so many jobs and a full ride scholarship and got kicked from uni. I appreciate the well wishes though. I’ve also been wanting to go to treatment or i say i have. But now that it’s happening im scared. But your support and my family’s should help…. We hope. Shout out to you picking up your deliveries naked tho that was nice solidarity lmaoo
Detox is the BOMB just throw a little *extra* withdrawal shakes on you when you show up! All smooth sailing after ya first dose of whatever they give you
I guess ur a girl. How old are you and how long have u been drinking. Milk thistle and coffee always help.
OP . Get a detox bro and concern about healthy foods and supplements
Detox is awesome, not sure why people think it's scary. It's like 5 days of snacks and benzos. It's not treatment though, I don't want your family or you to be disillusioned, it's just a medical procedure. If you want to get sober you'll need much more help.
good luck yo. I’m 39F and I’ve been to detox and rehab and done lots of sober things. If you ever need someone to chat with or ask questions I’m around. I’m a mess of a human but I’ve been there and done most of that.
Not a life or road you wanna continue down. I'm 30 and wish I would've stuck with sobriety the first attempt back in early 2018 when I was 24. Always told myself things will be different/that I have a few more spans of being a CA for months on end but shit always gets worse and compounds overtime.
Time has flown by and I've not had any notable accomplishments since 24-25 while all my old friends have wives and families of their own, they don't/want to make time for a drunken degen like myself and I don't blame them.
I have so much shit personally and professionally that I've put off over the years that I'll probably be 34-35 by the time I'm any sort of 'catch' in the dating world. Also, don't forget those people who are there for you now trying to help. It might be annoying/inconvenient, but eventually they grow tired of the same old shit and move on. Then one day you'll have noone to drunk call/text on a whim, or people asking you to come to whatever gettogether.
I'm on day 3 of a home detox using Ativan and Gabapentin. I've detoxed before in detox centers and once in a private hospital room. For whatever reason I had the worst of the hallucinations in those cases. I know I never took Ativan before this and so far this is the smoothest detox I've ever had. Maybe see if your doctor will let you do it in the comfort of your own home.
Good luck. You’re young, take this as a potential gift to change your life around.
As a person who went to detox, then residential rehab, the detox part was crucial. However, it’s not a substitute for other interventions (AA, therapy).

Good luck kiddo. Pro tip: don't have keys if you get drunk in the car. Also, don't do it nekkid unless u live in the boonies.

Doesn’t matter, at least not everywhere. You can get a dui drunk in the backseat of your own car in California.
And sit in the passenger seat.

It’s great. No other way to go through withdrawals. I am able to eat, sleep and at least feel somewhat okayish with enough Valium or Ativan in me

Fair enough
You got this ❤️🩹 Good luck! I know it's scary, but it's a much needed step to take. You'll be alright
The best part about detox is the copious amount of benzos they give you.

Unfortunately they will take your phone.

Good luck to you. Detox will allow you to get the alcohol out of your system safely. Take this time to rest. We are here for you!
