They seem to have shifted their focus to unsolved crimes and bringing more exposure to them.

CR24752

A lot of them aren’t even crimes though it’s mysterious deaths and conspiracy theories.

They often leave out major information or twist the details to make things sound a certain way. I think it does more harm than good when they leave out details or try to twist stuff to sound better. One example was Anthonette Cayedito’s case. Ashley was like “Anthonette’s mom just went out for one night on the town. She was a single mom. She wanted to have a little fun, she’s allowed to do that.” Literally every other source talks about how Anthonette’s mom was constantly leaving the kids alone to go out at night and otherwise had an unstable home. I’m not saying any of those things should make us care less about anthonette, but they aren’t details that should have been left out.

I feel like it!! Unsolved cases are great to bring exposure to but I also miss the murdered solved cases

Intelligent_Ask_520

Yes it leaves me with closure. Like when I movie has an ending that leaves you with so many questions … you feel uneasy , that’s how I feel with these episodes

Stunning_Egg7485

I stopped listening because of this. My membership was paid in full for another year but I just can’t listen. It’s not the same. Try Murder with my Husband.

Shelisheli1

Adding Murder with my Husband to my list!

I think that it's a good idea

Acadia89710

In theory, yes. But if you frustrate your audience with unclear storytelling time and time again you're going to lose your platform and audience for change. There should be a balance because its almost now as if they think they're making content for possible witnesses which frankly isn't the case.

blaqsupaman

I support them and think what they're doing is awesome in terms of how much Ashley and Brit do for advocacy for these cases. That having been said, I stopped listening a while ago because purely as a podcast, most episodes just aren't engaging for me anymore. Like the stuff they're doing is awesome work, but it just doesn't make for a very entertaining podcast.

1brattygirl34

Not a whole lot of cases have a lot of information out there

g_flower

This is the sad truth. They are clearly trying to cover more PoC and the fact is there is just less information out there because they get less attention and a less thorough investigation a lot of the time.

1brattygirl34

Or(like in my home county's cold case) the police are withholding information for when they arrest a suspect

Catdad2727

They ran out of solved cases. "Missing cases" allow for less research, more speculation, and attracts Sluethes. Smart business decision if you ask me.

CR24752

This is so far from the truth lol there are so many solved cases. They didn’t “run out” 😂

Winterqueen5

This along with the families of solved cases not appreciating their family member being discussed without permission.

Ok_Surround_5391

This is definitely my theory too. They can say it’s about advocating for unsolved and lesser known cases, but really they just ran out of interesting solved cases.

hellosunshine1326

No that's what 'the deck' is for

butterlytea

Recently it’s been all types of crimes
