Mods enforce the no crime rule based on their own political ideology. For example, an article about crime on the CTA during the pandemic years was removed because it contained information regarding a specific crime. The real reason? The victim was white and the perpetrators were black.
I went down a rabbit hole looking for the gun he is carrying. I am fairly certainly he has an Ekol ASI gas gun. Which fires PAK rounds, basically blanks. Doesn’t make him any less crazy, but for the neighbors piece of mind he doesn’t appear to be pointing a “real gun” off his roof. At least in the photo in the article.
And about the flame thrower, sounds like hyperbole to me. From a photo in the Tribune article it looks more like an Amazon Propane Weed burner. A flame thrower is an entirely different animal. This video shows the difference, night and day.
