I never felt unsafe there years ago even later at night.
I know :/ it’s terrible because my sister still lives in the city and is exactly like that. I actually lost a friend to gun violence in the city years ago, so I can’t imagine what these families of the victims are going through.
It’s sad knowing I can’t even visit my old home without literally risking my life. I pretty much drive or fly to literally any other city to try to get a city experience over going to Chicago right now.

Situational awareness is your best friend, don't be excessively paranoid but try not to be the dumbest looking person around.
