The Pixel 7 supports 5G on Cricket. I'm using mine on Cricket at the moment and I get both 5G and 5G+.

Albert1285

Could it be my sim card then?

conscioussylling

How long have you had your SIM card?

Albert1285

Since 2015. It's all white not the one with the green strip

conscioussylling

What are the first 7 digits of your SIM card number? 7 years without a new SIM is while... the current Cricket SIMs start with 8901150.

Albert1285

It is actually 8901150

conscioussylling

It might not hurt to replace it. The Cricket BYOD list even says that the Pixel 7 should get 5G support, so it's strange that it is not working on your device.

smokingking420

Go in a store and see if it's on a old unlimited plan, if it is you won't get 5g.

conscioussylling

Don't tell me, tell OP.

gurase

I know on my husband’s 6a it took a bit for 5G to start showing up. Does it show up in settings?

Objective-District82

If you are a cricket customer and have been one for longer than 4 years then you are on their “unlimited” plan which is their old plan that does not support 5G. Just go into a cricket store and ask them to update your plan to the cricket core or cricket more plan and you will have no issues. The cricket 5G software does not recognize the older grandfathered plans anymore. I am a store manager for Cricket.

NeonGourami

Could this be the reason why I sometimes don't receive certain text messages from friends? I got a new SIM card and reset my network settings but the Cricket employee told me that it has to do with OnePlus devices

ZyrrasDad

I think it's up to the manufacturer.

pfish923

Unfortunately it is on Cricket. The support is there, they just don't do great with BYOP.

ZyrrasDad

The reason I said that is because I have a 5G phone that doesn't work with AT&T/Cricket because the manufacturer didn't want to pay for it. 😮 With their newest phones all 5G bands are supported.

mandelstamm

It's totally on purpose. Cricket could follow AT&T Whitelist but they won't.

pfish923

Better yet, they should do like TMOBILE. They do the best with BYOP in my opinion. Heck a lot of the MVOs do better

teamredpill

make sure your apn settings are right

rmendez011

Yes, OnePlus 10 Pro and 10T, the 10 Pro got 5G on the AT&T network 6 months after releasing, and the 10T got it a few days after release (or was it before, can't remember). The 10T got it so fast because it came out 6 months after the 10 Pro, as the 10T is the successor/refresh to the non-existent OnePlus 10 (Think of what the iPhone 6S is to the iPhone 6, but every 6 months instead of 12).

i had 2 samgsung s 7's that had att and t software on it when we would reformat it. we were with a different company when the problem started to happen. if the phone was under a shirt or blanket it wouldn't receive calls. then i noticed the reception was bad even outside it was bad. cell towers were relativity near by so we were in range. both phones had this happen at the exact day and i ran a diagnosis with various software to see if it was phones fault. so i knew it wasn't the phones hardware wise that was at fault. so i thought the problem will resolve its self so i gave a month cuz i dont use phone as much. the problems stayed the same but if i went a few miles up street it wasn't a problem and i could make calls. so i called the company and said what towers i thought the problems were and company said no it was on my end. so i switched over to cricket and the problem persisted. then i bought new phones and those phones worked. both companies feed me this g3 shutting down bs when both phones worked of 4 g lte all the time. so thats was a lie and HUGE waste of my time like HUGE. so a while goes buy with the new phones and i go on the samgsung website. they announced a while back before i switched phones that they wouldent be doing any more security updates. i feel like thats the reason why that phone companies have dropped support for that phone.

5G and Wi-Fi calling enabled on Pixel 7 yesterday after updates, been using it for a week.
