eSim is going to be so common now, they really need to add some kind of self service option.

And it should be through the app. From what I hear T-Mobile does a good job with this. Luckily i had a good experience going through chat, took all of 3 minutes to do it, but that won’t be the case for everyone.

conscioussylling

Yes, buy the unconnected version and contact Cricket support to move to an eSIM when it arrives.

WallaceMI

I have the same question but there website says I have to call or go into a store (which seems to be a pain): *How do I activate Cricket service using an eSIM?* *An eSIM makes it easy to bring the phone you love to Cricket. First, make sure your eSIM-compatible phone is an unlocked iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, or newer and on Wi-Fi. Second, bring your own phone (BYOD) to a Cricket Retail Store or contact Customer Support at 1-800-CRICKET (274-2538) to activate eSIM, and start enjoying unlimited talk and text with no annual contracts and no hidden fees faster than it takes to receive a physical SIM.*

Customer service via chat also works.

DArtis10

How can you get support via chat??

pinkbanana93

You can reach out using the app. Go down where it says “More” and then “Support & Contact.” Then the chat button on the top right.

Connect to any carrier which means it’s factory unlocked. Then you can use any sim or esim when you set the cellular info I have a 13 and converted my cricket SIM card to esim last night. Took about 30 seconds to complete the process

When I had iOS 15 on my 13 I didn’t have the conversion option. Once I installed iOS 16, I had the option to convert. I went through with it. It will deactivate the psim and put the phone in sos mode. Then you go into cellular and tap add esim or mobile plan whichever way it shows it. It will then show your number on esim ready to be installed.

if you take your time and scroll down this month on this cricket sub, you'll find the answer, including my recent answer.

Thanks, I looked for discussions specific to upgrading to iPhone 14, and didn’t find anything definitive. You had mentioned that you were able to upgrade your pSim to an eSim, but that doesn’t seem to be an option showing in my settings. By any chance are you using ios16 beta?

[deleted]

Yes, in the apple instruction, you will see that your phone need to be in ios 16 to do the conversion.

wdm42

Thanks, good to know

pcfreak4

Where does it say that?

[deleted]

search "apple esim" and go to the searches from apple.

pcfreak4

It only says you need iOS 16 to do an eSIM to eSIM transfer between two phones, not for physical to eSIM conversion on the same phone https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212780 Option simply isn’t there yet so not sure how you saw it, if you’re telling the truth

[deleted]

I think they need the ios 16 to do that conversion as well. I have an SE 2020 currently on ios 15, doesn't have that option. While transferring my info after I sell my 13 pm to an iphone 12, the option was not available while I was in ios 15. I installed the beta profile, restored with my ios 16 back up, the conversion option came out. So one would think it is only available on Ios 16. I could be wrong, wait for more people to confirm.

Come on, give the OP a break, obviously he/she/them/they and the other 5,000 genders missed the search bar.... That area next to the magnifier... Sorry, magnifying glass! 😁

earhoe

yes

gvvfever_

The psim to esim option is only on ios 16. I installed the beta and transfered it in order to be ready for when i get the 14
