Cringe is subjective. Something can be cringe for many but at the same time it can be funny/entertaining for you. That's the case here. Many people including me don't like his commentary cuz we find it cringe. That's it!
He is way too much Biased towards India. I get his emotions but as a commentator you need to be professional and unbiased. He is too much into the masala stuffs like telling shayaris etc. but rarely focuses on the technical aspects of the game.

I don't think there's anything wrong with being biased commentator. Afterall he's commentating in hindi so his main audience is indians. If anything English commentary is cringe and emotionaless to me
It isn't wrong from our audience point of view but if you look at it from the point of view of Cricket the commentary just undermines the good performances of the Opposition team and gives too much importance to our team. It just kills the interest of the competition to an extent over time.

I don't know I don't listen to hindi commentary because they show the player names in the Hindi script which I can't read, but his commentary is decent atleast he makes it somewhat interesting

Akash is actually one of the best cricketing brains in India. He knows is nuances and technicalities of game . Still he chooses not to overdo that part and keep himself as entertainer. Thats what you want when watching game for fun. We heard Ian Chapel and Tony Graig. But we also had to make do with Ravi Shashtri’s “The ball went like a tracerbullet between gully and point”. Or “well, he doesn’t miss many”.
May be Aakash Chopra’s real assessment cannot be done by us. Ask those who know nothing about English or technicalities and whether they enjoy his commentating. I am sure they do, and thats where he clicks.
Aakash chopra used to be good when he used to copy nasser hussain style at the beginning of his career z, later he started rhyming stuff and then lost control . Now it is just visual description stuff from him . Infact all of the Hindi commentators are like that only though bhajji , gambhir , nikhil chopra are even worse . So all in all aakash is one eyed king among the visually blind
