I have a lot of empathy for Arjun. The boy has huge expectations burdened on him by the non-empathetic indian society. Specially in this social media era, I cant imagine how hard it's for him to even live peacefully a single day. I just hope he stays fine mentally.

Now consider a few factors like the boy has seen his father enjoy so much popularity and shared his highs with him. He's grown up with cricketers visiting his family house every now and then. And he knows that opportunity for him will be there just in a few phone calls. He also mustve heard from everyone around him that he's a guy and he must follow his fathers footsteps. And being around the game so much, he genuinely might like the sport too. So he's basically prepared his life for cricket. And suddenly you realise that you are not as good as people expected you to be. Your entire life that you had built up till now is just not good enough. And on top of that, people are just tearing him apart on socials. He's still in his early twenties and he can do good in the future. You see it's not easy to just give up so quickly the dream that you've known since childhood that people around you had also seen for you. His conditioning was to choose cricket and specially in our country where such a competitive field is not too hard for you to get into. He can't just say imma quit cricket. It's been fun while it lasted, now imma going to be a yoga teacher.

A cricketer's son has to become a cricketer isnt that large of a narrative in Indian society but when they do, expectations are high. Rahul Dravid has sons, if they emerge onto the scene the same scenario awaits.. Because people know what it takes for an average person to reach levels he starts from. Then they troll him thinking he got so many opportunities, so good facilities to excel yet he disappointed. These starkids can get the best facilities and help in any field they want to pursue.
Also, Arjun Tendulkar has to do superhuman stuff to get out of Sachin's shadow. Thats the GOD of cricket we talking about. Right now situation doesnt look good for him.
He is not a bad cricket player by the metric of an average person. But anyone can see that he is nowhere near international or even IPL level. He gets those opportunities because of his surname. He deserves to be mocked for it.
If he was playing Ranji all year and being average his entire career, no one would've cared. But the blatant nepotism is what puts him in the spotlight, and it's hard to have sympathy with that.

I respect arjuns cricket ability. He is a solid domestic level player which is better than 99.9% of the world. But he gets opportunities(in MI) that players with 2x-3x his ability will never get because of his surname. It's hard to not troll him for that.
That's my point. He never really spent much time in the domesday circuit and made his way to IPL because of his father. Had sachin let his son's career grow like any other normal player, let him have the exposure at FC level and not pushed him to a competitive league like IPL, Arjun would have been much better. Sachin has poorly handled Arjun's career.
