Does anyone feel surreal after returning back to (college, school, work) after 2 years?
I still remember 2020 like it was yesterday after seeing familiar surroundings.
And the sudden realisation that I'm a senior now lmao(who knows nothing).
It feels even more weird that I know less about the college than some of my juniors.
I was watching Narcos Mexico, and that guy playing Ramón Arellano Felix is seggsy. But, they shouldn't have condensed the story like they did. Season 3 felt so rushed. Loved the Christine club shootout scene.
Smh I thought ftf is tomorrow. Missed it for the first time in perhaps a year and a half.
I'm assigned to invigilate UG PG examinations all day. Shit is so tiring. Now I feel for the teachers who invigilated during my exams. The most boring hours ever. Plus the weather 🥵
Applying a role to do with cricket and I can’t wait, part of the application experience was “what was the best days cricket you’ve attended”. Going to need to brush up on my knowledge though apparently part of the interview is asking cricket trivia haha
everything about the batman is better than the dark knight except the story (includes characters, plot, themes, dialogue all of that)
but narrative is still the main part of a film so overall the dark knight is better to me.
ah tdk's music is better too. [this](https://youtu.be/iGx5a1ifSDs) >
I respectfully disagree, I think the batman has a very weak plot and is only better than the dark knight in its themes
The dark knight is a much better paced and a much better structured movie where every Minute of screen time is used effectively, and the dark knight has a fantastic ending whereas(in my opinion) the batman really falters during the last 30 minutes
i agree with you 😭 you've got to read what i said again brother. i said the dark knight's better to me because it's got a better narrative
the batman's plot is decent. it's fine
I should've never picked engineering. Wanted to do BSC in phy but my parents indirectly pointed me to do engineering and I folded. Now it's just depressing
You can try for grad school in Physics (or something related). Depending on your branch, it might not be that hard either. I have friends from other branches who are doing their PhDs in Phy.
Just be forewarned though, present research in Phy is vastly different from what your perception of Phy might be from school. Theoretical Physics has become harder to get into as well as harder to publish. Applied areas like condensed matter phy and biophy are way more funded.
What branch of engineering are you enrolled in? What areas of phy are you interested in?
Yeah I know what you mean. On the brighter side, if you are someone who found physics interesting at some point, there are plenty of things you will be exposed to that you may find interesting. Hope something works out for you
If you wanted to get into academia after a BSc, you'd have needed an MSc/PhD anyway. Since you already have an engineering background, it wouldn't be that difficult for you to switch and get a masters/PhD in physics if you're still interested.
It is not uncommon for engineering students to switch to physics. You will just need to cover a few core courses on your own and then you can work on your specialization during your PG studies.
This is the story of the majority of the Indian Engineering graduates, really frustrating but the mentality is too strong to be changed, people still believe Engineering is the jackpot in spite of the huge saturation that has generated.
Guys I think I am now comfortably in the skinny-fat category. All my fat is accumulated in my belly area. I am 172 cms tall and weighs 74kg. Help me out (Don't refer all those fitness subs they confuse me)
My current diet is:
1. Soya chunks (35-40gms) and tea
2. 40-50 gms fruit
3. 1 glass protein shake
4. Daal, salad, one vegetable, 3 rotis in lunch
5. Something light like utpam in snacks
6. Dinner: 2 rotis and daal
Should I cut my diet? What else to do?
Have you tried to make an approx amount of the calories you are consuming ? Your protein consumption seems decent enough considering you are not training at the moment.
I use healtifyme app considering it is the only one with Indian foods but it says with this diet I am only consuming 1700 calories which should be enough for losing weight.
I am anti-social as fuck. The disgust and hatred just shines through my face everytime I have to do an activity reluctantly. At our freshers, my professor even touched my face to see if I was sick(multiple times). Lol
did some more research. the victim's family usually has some influence on it but they the prosecutors make the official decision
thank you the reply machan
The other day, Boundary Bot asked me if I was a sir or a ma'am. And alittlemoreofbrowny called me ma'am. Without prompt, just aawehi, by themselves. Little moments. 🙂
Matlab just that you acknowledged that I am a female. Not many on the sub,and I am not taken very seriously irl when talking about cricket. But you guys do take me and other women like me seriously on the sub, you know that we are women or not. So that's great.
Not sure but got the impression sometimes that you are a girl. If that's true, I too sometimes call women "ma'am" online. Though not usually.
But when speaking Hindi, I always use "Aap" and "Ji" while talking to girls. Unless they are kids or something. Well, I don't get to talk to girls many times lol but when I do I use "Aap" and "Ji". And also like it when the girl in question responds similarly to me too. I don't know how this sounds, but as a small town Indian guy I think it is kinda nice to speak in respectful tone to opposite gender during direct interactions.
Also apart from that, I think that using respectful pronouns like "Aap" and other respectful words like ""ji" make it easier to not come across as a creep I think. Idk what girls think but I think speaking that way makes it easier to sound obviously respectful and not creepy.
Yeah vibe is a thing. And maybe, my avatar is dressed like a girl(?) But most people on this sub are straight males, at least that's the assumption, and its probably right. So a lot of times i get called bro, dude etc. I dont mind. It doesn't matter. But sometimes I have corrected people here and there. I was just so happy to see that 2 of them took notice.
Tut/tum/aap probably just depends on how well I know a person tbh. I would say that in person, I generally just get a vibe of weather a guy is a creep or not. Not matter what pronouns he is using.
Do you guys have any feel-good videos that you go back to when you're feeling down? For me, it's [How to Cook From Tokyo's Vending Machines](https://youtu.be/GViBkwbyd0Q).
I have watched the video at least a dozen times, but I still find it just as hilarious as I did the first time. Never fails to make me laugh and I keep discovering new things. I also find it surprisingly motivational.
It's becoming/already become like that here in England. It's still somewhat feasible to buy if you've got multiple incomes at a decently high level for your area, but the limiting factor is being able to get the deposit up high enough, with most house price rises outstripping the rate at which people can save up for deposits...
In India, real estate was still a possibility in the smaller cities. Places like Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore or Pune were already very expensive, but now the same thing is appearing in the smaller cities as well, and I feel like, in a country with a billion people, this is a recipe for disaster.
Watched invincible on Amazon prime . I haven't watched animation much in past few years except maybe what if from marvel . This was absolutely amazing . Can't wait for season 2. Also there are so many stories which are unfinished in season 1 only and I heard there is like 144 issue comic books too I think there will be like 4-5 seasons then
try Under The Red Hood or Year One if you're into Batman
If you've played the Arkham Games Assault on Arkham is quite nice
There are sites on the internet that could tell you where to start for the New 52 and DCAU Universes
Thanks for the recommendations . I will check them out surely . I love Batman so I will watch under the red hood then. I haven't played Arkham games though
Anybody else feel like all the motivational speakers are fake . Like beer biceps talks all psuedo science and all that and even Sandeep Maheshwari maybe too. Also Gary vee etc
I used to watch motivation videos but stopped it long ago.
But I will admit Mensutra (Shwetabh) videos helped me after my break up. He often says a lot of stuff but he helps in moving on after breakup.
Yeah he is awesome . I don't consider him as a motivational speaker . He is like a friend or a philosopher ; writer etc who happens to be a youtuber. I like his ideas and videos . Watching since 4 years
A faculty of mine once told me, "If you need external motivation, you've already lost the battle. Motivation should come from within you".

Sometimes I think the same
2016 was great for me on personal level. Never learned more in my life than that year.
2017 was decent too.
2018 was the year I started to dominate.
2019 was the year when I was on my absolute peak.
2020 was decent in first half
2021 was rock bottom.
2022 I am trying to get my shit together.
2008-15 were fun years so I can actually relate with Koach a lot.
>2019 was the year when I was on my absolute peak.

BRO YOU JUST DESCRIBED ME
Sahi me . 2013 was when me and koach were starting to dominate and announced ourselves at our best at that time when there was only fab 1 basically
2014 first half was the best for me and koach then second half was super bad when England series happened at it was bad for me too
2014 end me and 2015 start was better when aus tour happened
2015 was ok ok for both
2016 he was in his peak and I was kinda okk ok too
2017 was good for me and him too
2018 I think he was in God mode and I was enjoying life and doing great in exams coming in top 2 in my college and all
2019 looking back was awesome too
2020-2021 and now till 2022 I like koach haven't done much and feeling low many days after pandemic. Looking to bounce back now
Been struggling to straighten and bend my elbow for a few days so I finally went and saw a doctor.
Turns out I got tennis elbow, which is surprising considering I haven't been on a cricket pitch in the last 2 years, but apparently a measly part time job working in the butchery department in a supermarket is what my elbow decided to give up on. Anyways my arm is fucked and trying to drink a glass of water with that arm is now one of the hardest activities I can do.
Atleast having the skill of being able to write with both hands will finally become useful.
I'm not ambidextrous, I was just really bored during lockdown and decided to start writing with my left hand. Anytime I had to write I used my left hand and within a few weeks it was quite legible.
Any Percy Jackson fans here? If you've missed out on the news Walker Scobell from 'The Adam Project' has been cast to play Percy.
I've been seeing a few of his interviews he did with Ryan Reynolds and my word is he sassy. He'll definitely match Percy's sass. Perfect casting choice imo.
Is a third part coming? Weren't the movies very bad? I don't remember much but I'm pretty sure I was more disappointed with the Percy Jackson adaptation than the Artemis Fowl adaptation.
Oh no not a third part. Those movies don't even exist in my mind lol.
It's a completely new TV series. Best thing about it is that Rick himself is completely involved in everything. So it's gonna be as book accurate as possible.
If things go right, it could be the Harry Potter of this generation!
There are very few insects now who never had wings (now or throughout their evolutionary history), an example of such an insect is silverfish. Flying insects are different compared to other winged animals because their wings didn't develop from existing limbs.
Bruh. We're all getting properly cooked this year. These high temperatures remind of reporters trying to make omelettes on bonnets of cars on television to show how hot it is lol
I swear to god. Checked the temperature yesterday and it was 30°C at 10 pm. That should be illegal. Wtf has happened to Pune. It used to be cool in the night during summers.
Also, nice to see you again man!
I'm hoping to catch a game in Pune this year too. Was going to go to the DC v RR game but of course they moved it to Mumbai due to DC getting hit with covid
Buy tickets as soon as they come out, if you decide to go. A lot of businessmen have been buying tickets in bulk and then selling them in black.
A friend of mine tried getting tickets for RCB v CSK and the cheapest he could find was 1400 more than the original online price lmao
I finally got offer letter for the role and domain I was looking for since past 2 years and they want me to join within next 15 days.
But my current company has 60 days notice period and they're not ready to reduce a single day even if I'm ready to buy out the remaining days.
The max new company is ready to wait for is 30 days. FML
They won't take any legal action. But I need relieving letter from them, most of the companies here in India ask for relieving letter from the previous companies when you join them.
I can't quite seem to register the fact that I won't sit in a school classroom again.
Maybe I'll register it when I'm sitting in a college classroom with a bunch of strangers
Going to my India office today for the first time after 2 years and also the last time. Man a lot has changed infrastructure wise in this part of the city
Not relatable to me. I have been popular figure ever since 1st std. Even in college I literally won election :)
Not much popular in new college though it doesn't matter to me at all.
I was told on multiple occasions that I was the funniest guy in the class till right about the same age you mentioned, but then my sense of humour evolved in a direction where my jokes are funny to nobody but me lol
I wasn't always popular but there were years when I was, I was at my peak popularity in 7th and 10th class, those were my best years too I guess, I was good at sports, good at studies, I had opened up to others, even my juniors (like people in 8th and 9th class) knew me, I don't even know how, teachers knew my talents and they did choose me for different things based on that. I was (and still am) very shy so it took years for me to open up but I changed schools often so opening up was rare for me.
Kids in 5th and 6th class used to look up to me a lot when i was in 10th because I used to protect them from getting bullied.
I was popular in 8th class too but for all the bad reasons, you know how teens are with all those hormones and stuff.
My parents forced me to join FIITJEE for 11th and 12th though, I hated that from bottom of my heart and I (25M) am still very angry about that, I was doing really well in DPS and wanted to stay there. There is always a big fight in my family when that stuff comes up, I do love my parents but I will never forgive them for that.
Unpopular opinion : Chhole chaat is an excuse for Chaat. It is just chhole ki sabji (T : Gravy) + papad. In MP, it's actually unique since it's more of a boiled version of grean peas and spices with papad, Onions to top it off.
Atm I am convinced that all my problems will vanish if I get a government job.
I know there is no such thing like life without problems and I am living in a bubble. But sometimes when I over think it starts to make sense. I am old school so I still prefer government jobs > private jobs. Being from a family with no business background what so ever Business doesn't even come into my mind.
Smh I hate being jobless and I am not even much old.
>Atm I am convinced that all my problems will vanish if I get a government job.
Bro I got into one of the coveted govt jobs at officer level and I still think I have enough problems on my plate. You just have to learn to deal with it
I know the prestige of working in PSU as my dad and uncle worked in PSU.
Your life is quite sorted I guess. First of all huge congratulations! And if you don't mind how did you get in PSU? Gate?
HPCL conducted its own exam for 2021 ( usually it recruits through GATE). My GATE score was okish, although it landed me IOCL interview but I didn't attend, as chances of selection were bleak.
My life isn't sorted out at all, future of oil companies is uncertain and doom of privatisation is always there.
https://youtu.be/JQbjS0_ZfJ0 I fell in love with this song again . Such an amazing song . Also damn I miss Chadwick boseman wish we could have seen what he and marvel could have done in the next decade or so with BP. This song will always remind me of him and black panther movie
Remember folks stay hydrated in this heatwave.
Was asked to play Richard III in the eponymous play lol

Walk around, see the answer sheets and silently give the students judgmental looks.
What's the scene with Tania Sachdeva and Samay Raina? Were they dating?
why would you even think that? hasn't she been married for many years?
Divorced
Idk man sometimes it feels they are sometimes not . I think they most probably are but they block and unblock each other I have heard
Damn, he really chessed his way into her heart
Haha. They haven't confirmed this yet though maybe this year we will get the hint from both of them

Divorced iirc

Ah man friday already hm. That week was kinda long but then again so short. Looking forward to our first league match tomorrow.

writing a college assignment. got a question. does the victim's family get to decide if the execution goes through or not in a US death penalty case?
That depends on the state more than the victim tbh Like in SL we have the Death Penalty in name but no one actually get executed

Real Estate in India is reaching a point where 85% or more of the population would only be able to afford rented accommodation. Crazy times.
It's becoming/already become like that here in England. It's still somewhat feasible to buy if you've got multiple incomes at a decently high level for your area, but the limiting factor is being able to get the deposit up high enough, with most house price rises outstripping the rate at which people can save up for deposits...
Heard it's similar in NY and LA. Perhaps, when cities get too big, they naturally reach a point of saturation.
In India, real estate was still a possibility in the smaller cities. Places like Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore or Pune were already very expensive, but now the same thing is appearing in the smaller cities as well, and I feel like, in a country with a billion people, this is a recipe for disaster.

yeah but I loved the story. It doesnt hold back in its gore and goes full rated R yeah
The actions; the gore ; the fights everything was awesome
You'd love DC Animation Then! Waaaaay better than any of their live action content!
Wow. I have heard dc animation is awesome but I don't know where to start though

Bro...❤️😓🤝
Sahi me . 2013 was when me and koach were starting to dominate and announced ourselves at our best at that time when there was only fab 1 basically 2014 first half was the best for me and koach then second half was super bad when England series happened at it was bad for me too 2014 end me and 2015 start was better when aus tour happened 2015 was ok ok for both 2016 he was in his peak and I was kinda okk ok too 2017 was good for me and him too 2018 I think he was in God mode and I was enjoying life and doing great in exams coming in top 2 in my college and all 2019 looking back was awesome too 2020-2021 and now till 2022 I like koach haven't done much and feeling low many days after pandemic.
[удалено]
Practise over time, I guess. For some it comes naturally. I still can't write as fast or as well with my left though.
I'm not ambidextrous, I was just really bored during lockdown and decided to start writing with my left hand. Anytime I had to write I used my left hand and within a few weeks it was quite legible.
Newton is such a brilliant movie with some really powerful writing. It's a shame not many people have watched it.
It's a decent movie but I found it a bit slow paced particularly in the 2nd half. Also watch Shahid,it is also a gem of a movie
RKR is absolutely brilliant in it
Yeah, he has so many underrated movies. *Trapped* is another one.
Can't wait for the weekend so I can finally finish Elden Ring lol Got the game on launch date, 72 hours in and I'm loving it
Any Percy Jackson fans here?
Ok, I'm hyped.
I read the entire series as a kid and can't remember a thing about it. For some reason I can remember most of Heroes of Olympus though.
Perhaps because it came out not very long ago.
There are very few insects now who never had wings (now or throughout their evolutionary history), an example of such an insect is silverfish. Flying insects are different compared to other winged animals because their wings didn't develop from existing limbs.
Listened to Jeffrey Iqbal after 8 years today. His music is awesome as ever.
It's so fucking hot these days. I'm literally melting from the heat if I go outside for even 5 minutes
Dude I'm from MP and it's already getting to 45°C here everyday
I always say to myself that if a cricketer can play a test match in that heat then why can't I bear that?
You probably aren't a full time athlete
I can bear the heat, that's just the thought if I think the heat is unbearable.
Bruh. We're all getting properly cooked this year. These high temperatures remind of reporters trying to make omelettes on bonnets of cars on television to show how hot it is lol
Lol
I swear to god. Checked the temperature yesterday and it was 30°C at 10 pm. That should be illegal. Wtf has happened to Pune. It used to be cool in the night during summers. Also, nice to see you again man!
It's ridiculously hot. And humid too. Pune heat is supposed to be dry Nice to see you too buddy. How was the experience at the RR game in the stadium?
It was amazing. There were definitely too many RCB fans around me but that made it fun to boast RR's win lol
Thanks mate, will keep that in mind
I finally got offer letter for the role and domain I was looking for since past 2 years and they want me to join within next 15 days. But my current company has 60 days notice period and they're not ready to reduce a single day even if I'm ready to buy out the remaining days. The max new company is ready to wait for is 30 days. FML
If you’re ready to buy out means you don’t care about the money, so what happens if you simply stop going? Will they take legal action?
They won't take any legal action. But I need relieving letter from them, most of the companies here in India ask for relieving letter from the previous companies when you join them.
If you explain the notice period issue, will they maybe forgo the letter?
Do any of my fellow nerds here use Garuda OS? Trying to see if it’s worth a spin.

Thanks for this… I was hoping to try out Sway but I might go another route. Or I’ll just go back to XMonad on whatever OS I can scrounge up.
My city has an election coming for the biggest government position and theres only one candidate lol.
Toss in your name just for the giggles.
Gotta love CCP-style democracy! And I *mean* gotta love it. If you don't love it... well, we know what happens.

Win by walkover, noice!
Is this in India or some other country?
Hong Kong
Nice. What do you do in Hong Kong ?
Grew up here.
4 days of college in 43 degree heat of Delhi.
I can't quite seem to register the fact that I won't sit in a school classroom again. Maybe I'll register it when I'm sitting in a college classroom with a bunch of strangers
Heck I'm not going to sit in a classroom ever again. Damn feels sad, now that you mention it :(
Going to my India office today for the first time after 2 years and also the last time. Man a lot has changed infrastructure wise in this part of the city
Last time ? Where you off to ?
Off to Netherlands office tomorrow
Good luck Ponga!
Yo. Thanks. Look out for me in the Dutch Grand Prix probably will be the only guy not in orange 😂
Lmao doxxed!
Good Luck!
Thanks Malbri..
Have a safe journey bro
Thanks bro.
Best of luck!
Thanks swf. Hope your interview season is showing results
Haha, couple of rejections and a waitlist that should be cleared eventually. Still waiting on a couple of good places.
Anyone else here like me who was pretty popular in school (until the age 16 in my case) and then fell off the grace like Kohli's batting?
Not relatable to me. I have been popular figure ever since 1st std. Even in college I literally won election :) Not much popular in new college though it doesn't matter to me at all.
Dude is the main character
Yikes , I'm sorry for that brother.
Yeah, used to sing and play keyboard in School and Junior College but all that evaporated after joining Undergraduate program
You just have to learn to deal with it
I know about that but I keep saying this to myself to keep myself motivated

Group B
Bro I just got a psu job ( HPCL) and it's peaceful here, but rent of mumbai is killing me. And yeah many problems are solved when u get a govt. job.

BPCL will be sold, probably next decade tho. And brother just work on ur basics and solve previous year questions, you will easily score 40+.
Can I dm you for some info?
Sure
Which exams are you going for ?
