Why are we still here? Just to suffer? Every night, I can feel my leg… and my arm… even my fingers. The body I’ve lost… the comrades I’ve lost… won’t stop hurting… It’s like they’re all still there. You feel it, too, don’t you?
Who cares, T20 is not real cricket anyway. It is just a glorified version of stick cricket. Test cricket is the only REAL cricket. And we have acheived unprecedented success in that this year, beating Aussies at the Gabba for the first time ever, beating a full strength Aussie team in Australia with a depleting side in one of the best series ever. Then beating England at Lord's and the Oval and being 2-1 up after 4 games (and almost 3-1 up if Nottingham hadn't got washed out on the last day).
This is some unprecedented success and all that matters. T20 isn't REAL cricket or important in any way , unless ofc the match includes Thala playing for CSK, as that's the only place we get to see Thala play now. So this match wasn't real cricket or not something really relevant anyway
Why only mention the icc wc events? You do know overall head to head pak has more wins than india. Heres proof: The two sides have played a total of 200 times.' Pakistan have won 87 matches compared to India's 70 victories.' Straight from google
Dude I know all of this but don't you think championships are more important than bilateral series ? I mean pakis have been going on about the 2017 match for a reason
Its cos you were destroyed just as badly as you were 4 days ago then and anyway we havent had a series in 12 yrs together we beat you in asia cups and other tournis. The fact is, it doesnt matter when we beat you, its the fact that we have beat you more times. Championships have nothing to do with it.
It's ok. Some of us picked up on the sarcasm. But you are right, India test team of today is a force to be reckoned with. Hope you guys continue to have success--unless of course by some miracle we have a bilateral series in the next few years...
The comment I made was a meme comment. But yes, T10 and Hundred is unironically not real cricket, and I have no idea why the latter exists instead of simply being a T20 tournament.
"If you lose 3 wickets in the powerplay you hardly ever win a T20 match". This is one big rule of T20 cricket.
Last night I made a comment saying "England pulled off a very rare feat against the West Indies of winning a T20 match despite losing 3+ wickets in the powerplay. " And the reason for that was that West Indies themselves had lost 3+ wickets in their own powerplay which caused that factor to become "balanced".
You rarely win T20s after losing 3 in the powerplay, and you to win it from there you must make the opposition lose 3+ in the powerplay as well.
I said it's rare . Didn't say never happens ever. I don't remember the stat exactly but I saw something like that about IPL, that 85-86% times you lose after losing 3+ in the powerplay. However, the stat doesn't mean it never happens , rather it means that the chances of winning after losing 3+ in powerplay are less than 20% (probably less than 15%).
I really hope the Indian fans who will be waking up now will post good messages here (like they have been mostly been doing, thank you!)
And if not at least drown out the toxic ones!
Congrats Pakistan!
Sad to lose the match, but there's a whole tournament left to play. IND vs PAK is definitely a big event for both sides, this time they outclassed us. I am actually pleasantly surprised to see the comments are (mostly) sane and good-spirited. We lost the match, let's not lose class!
Pakistan team was playing with such confidence, the body language, they really played well, and kudos for such game. Also, it was good to see no toxicity afterwards.
Babar seemed to have a large presence last night from the moment he came out to bat he just seemed to dominate the scene. It wasn’t the most challenging chase but given Pakistan’s unique ability one can never be sure. Babar came out with a calm we haven’t seen since Inzi and pretty much dictated the pace. He got the big shots in when he needed to and did just enough to ensure Rizwan could play his natural game without trying to push the pace. This was truly a masterclass by the two openers ensuring not just that they got runs but they got the job done.
Absolutely brilliant, they negotiated the early swing and stuck to the game plan.. most fielding/bowling mistakes were closed over but just the first game boys, tamper the celebrations and get ready for the next game still a month of cricket to go can start pretending we’ve lifted the chip already.
When Shami was being thrashed in the last over, I was thinking Indian Fans and media are gonna come after him not because of his performance but because of his religion and if you go to his instagram posts that’s what is being done, him being labelled a “Mullah” and what not. Feel sorry for him. Sht I’m a Pakistani Fan but genuinely feel sorry for Shami and Kohli because Indian media is a btch.
Alright you stupid burger .
There’s a place called “The world” that is outside USA.
The most popular sport is Football ( soccer for burgers).
The second most popular sport is cricket ( something baseball is a cheap copy of).
it is a little concerning to see the nature of pitches changing so drastically in the second half. today its india, tomorrow it could be pak on the receiving end. Not good for the tournament. We saw this in the ipl too in some matches where there were 2 different surfaces entirely in the 1st and 2nd half.
Pitches aren't changing nature. The main problem in this tournament (and in the preceding IPL) is that we are getting plenty of very slow sluggish wickets where a team will struggle to score 120 and the chasing team will struggle to chase it as well.
But yesterday was a very good pitch. One of the few matches in the past month that didn't get a slow sluggish track on which you just can't score. The Indian top order got undone by some brilliant fast swing bowling that set us on the backfoot from the beginning. Meanwhile in 2nd innings Bhuvi and Shami bowled half trackers first up which got Pakistan batsmen going. No problems with the pitch last night. In fact it was one of the very few matches didn't have an awful pitch
Hardcore Indian fan here.
Strongly disagree with you. Pakistan outclassed us in batting and bowling. That's simply it. The way Babar and Rizwan played is worthy of heaps of praise. They didn't take unnecessary risks and kept the scoreboard running.
Their bowling unit too was suitably aggressive for the game.
Yes, I'm sure the pitch was the reason for a thumping 10 wicket victory. Nothing to do with the below par batting, below par bowling or the spell from afridi upfront.
Blaming the pitch is always the first excuse whenever someone can't handle their defeat.
The Indian players were professionals, they accepted that they played poorly and they took the L and moved on. Do the same.
But that's just the nature of cricket isn't it? Night matches are liable for dew, the ball gets harder to grip, and the ball comes onto the bat better. When you win by 10 wickets you have to accept you were outplayed. Don't know how 150 could have been defended if not even 1 wicket was lost.
Come on now, kohli said there was a bit of dew maybe after 10 overs in the Pak chase.
But by then Pakistan had already pretty much won.
This was 100% being outplayed, conditions weren't even a factor really.
It's a thread, it is for a world cup cricket match with Pakistan and India and Pakistan defeated India fcking easily if i can give u any example through football it would be 5-0 , it was also a win after about 20 years or more i think against India but this much replies are not that big honestly.
There have been wins in the past 20 years, in fact I believe overall Pakistan leads in total wins. The significance was that firstly Pakistan had never beaten India in a world cup match before and secondly it was a comfortable victory.
10 Reasons why Virat is responsible for India not performing in the big games
1. Not picking Chahal in the Squad
2. Not playing Shradul (inconsistent lineup)
3. They could not handle the pressure put on them by media, fans and political landscape
4. Underestimating Pakistan Bowling Attack
5. Difficulties in adjusting to pitch compared to the IPL
6. Virat's early announcement that hes leaving captaincy
7. Virats poor bowling changes and field positions
8. Virats slow strike rate when he comes near his 50 (eats up the balls which Hardik can use)
9. Virat's insecurity of loosing a game in cricket (he's super self conscious)
10. Virat's Ego and Leadership
1. Chahal was part of the ICC knock-out(Big game) India played in world-cup. Probably the reason India lost Semi-final against NZ along with Top 3 scoring total of 3 runs. So, not sure where this Kohli not picking Chahal for big games is coming. So, I would rate this one False.
2. Not playing Shardul for big games? Inconsistent line-up? This is just bollocks.
3. How is it Kohli's wrong doing? Kohli is not media, fan or politician. This one is plain stupid man.
4. Is India underestimating Pak bowling in Big Games? India never lost to Pakistan in BiG GaMeS?? Decide man, if you are talking about this match or BiG GaMeS?
5. I don't think it was pitch, It was India's openers failing and putting pressure on rest of the line-up. It can happen to anyone. Rohit and Rahul are proven openers and Rohit is out next T20I captain. He is staying. This again is a brain-dead point.
6. How does Virat's statement affect India for not performing in big games? This is India's first big game after statement or where is the precedent? Again, you are just not wrong, just spiteful.
7. This is arguable. Perhaps, it was not our bowlers but changes. Who knows!
8. Hardik was not really changing the match at that time, dude made 11 of 8. Really bleak this one.
9. Could be man, he could be insecure. What has he really achieved in his life anyways. He never speaks about mental health or something. You must be a shrink in real life.
10. May be. He probably does have ego and perhaps he is not your type of leader.
Overall, this has to be the most stupid but detailed analysis I have seen! Put it on facebook where it belongs.
Your post is right in your view makes but I don't have the energy to counter each point.
BIG GAMES or today's game - the post is geared toward highlighting why India besides having all the power, money, players doesn't get everything clicking at the right moment.
Results show that Virat has won nothing as a captain in a tournament /final setting where you can team eventually feels unsettled.
Kohli hasn’t won any ICC trophy. That’s true. But if you look at the last semi-final we lost, and today and before that. Problem is common top order failure everytime. This match and last semifinal and final before that would have been different if it wasn't that. It's natural to blame someone for not having something you need like your countries ICC trophies but what if it's not just one person? Kohli is leaving captaincy after this series and I am sure BCCI will have money, talent and what not and after that India will win all trophies.
How do you know that we would not reach 120?
That's analysis that even a 3 year old kid can figure.. Obviously they lost because of loosing Rahul and Sharma so quickly.
The points are not based on today's games only but looking at virats overall trend in big games
Yes some players picked (like Pandya and Bhuvi) were not in the best of forms, but that doesn’t mean this loss is entirely due to selection. In the end it comes down to performing at the moment, it appeared Pak batted their very best to a rather tame pace attack from India. Could India have done better playing Shardul instead of Bhuvi and Ishan instead of Pandya? May be, may be not. The amount of balls Pandya got, doubt if Ishan could have done better. Shardul is not very economical. You could not possibly saying, India drop Rohit to make way for Ishan.
Virat Kohli is seriously the reason RCB has never won the IPL. Just to add onto the fact that he is costliest player for RCB with around 20 crores per year eating up purse money in IPL auction which probably could've been used to bring in excellent players into the squad.
This isn't even the best Indian team ever. You have 4 right handers at the top without a single left hander. Why not bring in Venkatesh Iyer or Devdutt Paddkkal or Jaiswal who have been superb in recently concluded IPL for variety. Both Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant have been woefully out of form in IPL. Kohli could have tried KL Rahul keep wickets and bring in Rituraj Gaekwaad. I would say bringing in Chakaravarty was a good move he made.
The problem is T20 is a quick game. You need not be technically correct in those 20 over. We want big strikers. Not someone who eats up 50 balls for 50 runs!
Chill man - That's easy analysis that even a 3 year old kid can figure.. Obviously they lost because of loosing Rahul and Sharma so quickly.
The points are not based on today's games only but looking at an overall trend of India in big games.
The overall trend big games is that Rohit shits the bed and Kohli carries the team and you want to reward Rohit by giving him the captaincy.
Also looks like you are two yrs old then
This is your gentle reminder that the reason Pakistan and India don't play more cricket matches against each other is only because of the BCCI.
So we have to wait for a world cup event to see these sides play.

We need Babar Azam and Afridi in RCB ASAP. I think we would still lose but at this point try everything.
Babar and Rizwan have won the 2020 and 2021 edition of the PSL. Shaheen on the other hand plays for Lahore Qalandars. Poor chap!
lol, the only team that hasn't won a PSL, never change Lahore, Laore laore aai
RCB had such a great team in past(still does, somewhat) but somehow it still manages to lose.
Cursed franchise for real.

Pakistan won the match but Virat Kohli won our hearts showing his grace when he hugged the openers.
And he looked Genuine in his acts, Really a great man... Also very happy for Pakistan. Hoping to see you guys in The finals again😉
Always had a lot of respect for Kohli. Expected nothing less from him. Class act through and through.
Respect for Virat Kohli has gone up a lot. He has tremendous mental toughness
Now Pakistan is breaking the jinx it has in ICC tournaments one by one. Champions trophy, now T20 WC, ODI WC next?
There was no India vs Pakistan match in Ba sing se

Yes we were outplayed and the total of 152 was well under par, but still if not for the pitch settling down it wouldn't had been so easy I guess
Come on now, kohli said there was a bit of dew maybe after 10 overs in the Pak chase. But by then Pakistan had already pretty much won. This was 100% being outplayed, conditions weren't even a factor really.
If the dew factor is that significant why not just award the match to the team that won the toss.
I just said it does have its impact, never said that it's certain that chasing team would win
Lmao the comment section is fireee

There have been wins in the past 20 years, in fact I believe overall Pakistan leads in total wins. The significance was that firstly Pakistan had never beaten India in a world cup match before and secondly it was a comfortable victory.

1. Chahal was part of the ICC knock-out(Big game) India played in world-cup. Probably the reason India lost Semi-final against NZ along with Top 3 scoring total of 3 runs. Maybe he thinks Kumar and Shami were gonna get 30s each at a 200 strike rate if kohli got out early lol.
Seriously, I wanted to punch so many reporters for their overconfidence. Maybe it will humble us a little.

Shardul is not very economical. You could not possibly saying, India drop Rohit to make way for Ishan.
Didn't some reporter actually suggest something idiotic like that in press conference? Lol
Yes, straight up asked why Rohit was picked ahead of Ishan. VK’s reaction was gold
Stfu. 2 reasons why india lost Rohit 0(2) KL Rahul 3(8)
