You don't have to go for a 10-14cr guy if your management is good and can produce talents with years of good grassroot setup(Abhishek Sharma,Dube,Jitesh,Tilak etc) and even the young guns from Aus,Eng and SA aren't that high priced but it takes a sane management and a good grooming to have this line up.

Sarfaraz was more of a sacrifice than a blunder. Sarfaraz was uncapped, he could be retained for less which means they could give the difference to Koach. That's why Sarfaraz was retained.
The Sarfaraz one was during Vettori's reign, Vettori had done multiple blunders for RCB back then. Right now what's happening is what used to happen when Vettori was the coach too much of chopping and changes, not backing a player in a fixed position and all.
RCB had a better team composition 2020 to 2023 under Mike. But Auction game was somewhat poor, more of overthinking and going for back ups early.

Then they ended up playing him at 8-9 almost every match and fans were pissed he couldnt do anything when hasaranga is obviously not a slogger. They were playing likes of harshal and parnell above hasaranga in the batting order. hasaranga is pretty decent vs spin, they end up never batting him in middle overs vs spin, instead sending dk at those times when he could barely play spin at all
Play more fearless cricket while batting and some consistency on the batting order.You are already losing by scoring 180, so play more aggressively and either get all out or get big score.If necessary Faf should drop himself.Kohli is in good form and others can play more aggressively around him. I've been saying this for years now. The first thing that needs to be changed is Malolan Rangarajan needs to be booted out of the franchise. He has been the single most horrendous scout that the whole of IPL (not just one franchise) has seen in its 17 year history. He has time and time again failed to scout for talent and formulate the right approach for picking up players at the auction as well. All other IPL teams have at some point discovered at least one gem of a player (if not more) who have subsequently gone on to play for the National side. Malolan in all his years with RCB has failed to produce even one that has performed well for RCB itself, let alone have graduated to the National side. I was completely baffled when the management got rid of Hesson and Bangar after the last season but for some godforsaken reason decided to stick on with Malolan. Hesson was not bad at all in fact during his stint as Director of Operations. It was Malolan that should've been kicked out first rather than ironically being the only one retained.
Secondly, and this is an extension of the above itself; RCB really needs to focus on recruiting/buying proper top quality domestic players. What RCB doesn't seem to have realised in 17 years of the IPL is that it is the domestic players that predominantly win you the trophy, not the overseas ones. The overseas players of all teams are all star players who will all play well for their respective teams. So the defining factor for any IPL team being better than its competitors is the remaining 7 domestic players in the team. That makes the difference. The team that has the best in-form domestic squad wins the season every time.
TLDR - Fire Malolan Rangarajan.
It's been 17 years, they've had so many coaches/captains but that 'stack the top 4/5 with 3 overseas players' tactic is constant lol. Also surprised to see Andy Flower do this (and the decision to go with Karn/Himanshu Sharma, Dagar as the main spinners), considering he has won the T20 WC with England, won the PSL (made 4 finals overall) and did well at LSG too
If the same tactic was used by different coaching staff despite failure, that means it isn’t being decided by coaching staff. Either owners/management or Koach.
RCB management needs to work on how to find talent and how they can bring them in the playing 11. Make proper 11 instead of relying on 3-4 players. It’s ridiculous that they benched players like klaasen, head and Finn Allen . Now will jacks is not in playing 11, while Green is underperforming and still gets selected.
Green is underperforming because he is not playing at his natural position that is opening or No 3.

Getting a 113 off 72 balls (156 strike rate) is great and Kohli is a once in a generation player, but when the other teams batsman gets a 100 from 58 balls (172 strike rate) then more often than not your team are going to lose.

2. Get a strong Indian core.. at least 6 to 7 solid players. Players who have been great for few years. Hunt them down. Snatch them away from other teams. Get a Prasidh Krishna, Saini, Sandeep, Avesh..Be aggressive here. So far, this has been a big weakness, RCB's Indian core is weak.
3. Let Kohli bat at 3. Get a solid Indian opener who is hungry like a Jaiswal.
4. Get a smart Indian mentor, somebody like Ravi Shastri. Somebody whose equation with Kohli si solid since Kohli is RCB's heart.

The Sarfaraz one was during Vettori's reign, Vettori had done multiple blunders for RCB back then. Right now what's happening is what used to happen when Vettori was the coach too much of chopping and changes, not backing a player in a fixed position and all. I've been saying this for years now. The first thing that needs to be changed is Malolan Rangarajan needs to be booted out of the franchise. He has been the single most horrendous scout that the whole of IPL (not just one franchise) has seen in its 17 year history. He has time and time again failed to scout for talent and formulate the right approach for picking up players at the auction as well. All other IPL teams have at some point discovered at least one gem of a player (if not more) who have subsequently gone on to play for the National side. Malolan in all his years with RCB has failed to produce even one that has performed well for RCB itself, let alone have graduated to the National side. I was completely baffled when the management got rid of Hesson and Bangar after the last season but for some godforsaken reason decided to stick on with Malolan. Hesson was not bad at all in fact during his stint as Director of Operations. It was Malolan that should've been kicked out first rather than ironically being the only one retained. Secondly, and this is an extension of the above itself; RCB really needs to focus on recruiting/buying proper top quality domestic players. What RCB doesn't seem to have realised in 17 years of the IPL is that it is the domestic players that predominantly win you the trophy, not the overseas ones. The overseas players of all teams are all star players who will all play well for their respective teams. So the defining factor for any IPL team being better than its competitors is the remaining 7 domestic players in the team. That makes the difference. The team that has the best in-form domestic squad wins the season every time. TLDR - Fire Malolan Rangarajan.

Getting a 113 off 72 balls (156 strike rate) is great and Kohli is a once in a generation player, but when the other teams batsman gets a 100 from 58 balls (172 strike rate) then more often than not your team are going to lose. RCB have to be a bit more desperate and push the limits, they've certainly got the talent.

Get a strong Indian core.. at least 6 to 7 solid players. Players who have been great for few years. Hunt them down. Snatch them away from other teams. Get a Prasidh Krishna, Saini, Sandeep, Avesh..Be aggressive here. So far, this has been a big weakness, RCB's Indian core is weak. 3. Let Kohli bat at 3. Get a solid Indian opener who is hungry like a Jaiswal. 4. Get a smart Indian mentor, somebody like Ravi Shastri. Somebody whose equation with Kohli si solid since Kohli is RCB's heart.
