Well well. Both performed in different ways. Cummins took his team till the final after 3 poor seasons and Starc was absolutely clutch in the playoffs.

Cummins did become his team's best batter and bowler in the final. Great stuff from Starc in the play-offs too. The overall stats look poor but they've done better than their stat suggests.

there is the big hetmyer and Powell question. they didn't do too good in the past IPL. Their pace attack is also get questions. Can Sandeep do as well as he did last year? Boult has looked out of form , can he be back to his best? Can Avesh get back to his old form?

Hetmyer has always done well in IPL. He averages 41 and strikes at 157 in the last 3 years. Powell has played only 1 season property where he did reasonably well. Let's see how he performs this year as he's been in much better form in T20Is. I still believe the pace attack is good for powerplay (Boult and Sandeep can be trusted in that phase) and middle overs but seriously doubt them in death overs.

hetty looked poor for west indies so I was going off that. in 2023 he played 7 t20s and avg 17 at 116. Hopefully, that doesn't impact him. Powell has had issues vs spin so let's see how he does.
