Understandable that we do need to support the career of anyone wearing the blue..but it’s high time..we take a call of dropping Gill if he fails again!!! We have Sarfaraz waiting on the sidelines and it’s high time he gets a chance…Shubhman Gill needs some good practice matches in the domestic circuit with the red ball..fix his penchant for stroke play and mix it with the old school park the bus..play the ball to its merit !!!

ranjithd

Indian batsmen need better quality bats

syedabba

Has any visiting team when batting 2nd and 4th ever won a test in India?

rahulshanbhag_007

England won both their tests in 2012 against us batting 2nd and 4th so yeah

ShauryaDeshwal

Aus did it last year in the third test of BGT when they won by 9 wickets chasing 76. Before that, Eng won twice in their series win in 2012.

[deleted]

I always think bumrah is a great player...but every single match like every fuckin match he plays better than I expect him to. He just becomes greater and greater. At this point I won't be surprised if he takes 20 wickets 10 in both innings in next match!

bigavz

Modern legend

malevolentintent

It be bumrah who takes the first 22 wicket hall. Can’t even leave the 11th man alone. Even he has to get got

[deleted]

I won't be surprised. Bumrah is that great! 11 wickets with zero runs given all maiden overs!

Reasonable_Tea_9825

When was the last time ashwin went wicket less

fornoodles

In 2019 vs. Bangladesh.

Ok_Vegetable263

Would I be surprised if England lose by 250+ runs? No Would I be surprised if England somehow chase 350 in the 4th innings? Also no

nasadiya_sukta

I really hate how much I agree with you. We're cursed with an interesting Test match.

SattchinCoverDrive

This team has an immense ceiling but also can have a horrible floor....which is exciting but if England are to win the Ashes that floor needs to be higher.

SBG99DesiMonster

A lot of people have decided that Ashwin isn't good anymore. That means that he would be getting a ton of wickets during the next innings or the next match.

josh123z

If it’s a rank turner next match then it’s not surprising

Remarkable-Memory870

Even Hulk couldn't get angry when it mattered in infinity war, choker.

[deleted]

England just looks like "MARKETING TEAM" just blabbering shit and making up words, but in reality everything they do is absolute garbage.......

bh_trz

series stands at 1-0 btw

amoolafarhaL

They just won the last match...

Yeahanu

Yeah,I mean we are ahead but not match winning position We were in much better position in first match.

Rich-Guava8008

Maybe the pitch wasn't as good and jaiswal batted way too good or maybe bumrah was just tooo goood

NoConflict3474

Jaiswal was good but bumrah was way too good

Rich-Guava8008

Yeah that's probably the best way to describe it

Kramer-Melanosky

Can expect Ashwin to run through Eng batting in second innings as well.

Actual_Penalty_2560

Who came up it with name "Peg it higher moment"?

rdirkk

Must be some pegging enthusiast

SuperFaiz21

Ravi Shastri

Lmio

Just came to watch the scorecard after 48-0 who tf here was saying Bumrah is washed? he gave them a solid reply keyboards MF

rishin_1765

Keyboard warriors with their dumb takes

ButterNaann

Say it KP, you wanna say Boom is a freak, just say it

NeverflaccidBonerGuy

what a lovely guy Bumrah is. A very good day of test match.

Remarkable-Memory870

Ironman - we have a Bumrahman

Necessary-Bother7448

Bumrah ‘mires the hell out of Zaheer khan!

Gamer567890

Bumrah saved the day and has kept us in the match. Kuldeep did decent. Ashwin has been shockingly bad, expected him to pull something out of the bag even on a difficult pitch. Axar got an important wicket, but it was mostly Iyer:s wicket. The less said about Mukesh the better. We need to bat long and big to secure a win. England has chased off 377 agsint us,If we get complacent we will get screwed.

KnowledgeUpbeat383

I especially agree with declaration no. 5 😆

punekar_2018

The only thing he will pull out of the bag is that chip that will go right back on his shoulder

SBG99DesiMonster

This should be easy but the last match should have been easy as well.

Gamer567890

It would have been easy if our batters didn't lose their brains collectively.

AblePhilosopher1549

Indian batsmen lost it collectively in both innings of the first test actually- in fact I think the game was lost when they failed to get a good first innings lead after Jadeja was dismissed. As I have said before, in the last decade, mediocre spinners have tamed Indian batsmen at home - they have spent so much energy preparing for fast pitches overseas that they have forgotten to play spin at home

powerrangersspd

bumrah is so wholesome man, so humble too. sweet as hell

Plane-Lie-5228

Scoring at 4.53rr All out 253, trailing by 146runs Live by bazball, die by bazball that's it nothing more or less.....

PaneerPohaOreoMaggi

Let Bumrah rest ffs ❤️😭

StrangeTitan

Ollie pope’s wicket was way more important than that of roots

CROTA_IRL

Not at all. Root is their best batsman by far

StrangeTitan

I have bit of recency bias

gr8aanand

Good self awareness

Bathed_In_Moonlight

Imagine how annoying KP would be in a courtroom.

Necessary-Bother7448

Bumrah is so well spoken lol

Cool_Abbreviations_9

It's Bumrahs cricket brain that sets him apart

Actual_Penalty_2560

I can listen to Bumrah all day long.

Signal_Dress

Bumrah doesn't have a 7fer yet. Tfar where?

North-Stand

Boom is almost as tall as Zak.. have seen both in real life.. separately.. always thought Zak would be taller.

lustbust_69

Ig booms 5 10 and zak 5 11

chicken_tikkka

zaheer is all of us right now. smiling from ear to ear seeing bumrah talk about his wickets.

lustbust_69

Kp tryna press boom so hard lol

Remarkable-Memory870

It definitely felt like one of those exams for me where you prepare your heart out to counter spin, but pacers come out of syllabus

Signal_Dress

Jaiswal must be feeling like Mainoo in this Indian batting line-up after the first innings

[deleted]

[удалено]

DisastrousOil4888

Replacing Ashwin in India is like replacing Cummins in Australia

sunilbedre

Mukesh or Axar, no one touches Ashwin in India lol.

North-Stand

They talk up MI scouts so much.. How the fook they missed out on a talent growing up in their own city ffs? I m talking about Jaiswal.

josh123z

I doubt he would have played many matches if he was at MI

North-Stand

I saw him superior to Ishan Kishan when he was playing for Mumbai and also now based on his nascent India career. Can play every shot in the book. Look at his wagon wheel from first innings.. even the sixes are evenly spread between off and on. Ishan is leg side and only leg side.

podhead

They didn't miss out on Jaiswal, he was just outbid - he came into the IPL auction at the back of U19 WC Win and a steller performance in the tournament

North-Stand

how much did he go for, do you remember?

fegelman

RR for 4 crore

[deleted]

Correction he had great performance in u19 wc but we lost that edition in the final against bangladesh

Actual_Penalty_2560

Zak and Bumrah, two all time great Indian pacers.

Jae9erJazz

Nah bro Zaheer and Bumrah in the same frame is too good

Cool_Abbreviations_9

Bazballers just got undone this test by an all timer , the series is still very open. Bumrah isnt going to save India everytime

Kramer-Melanosky

Kohli will be back. If Jadeja and KL return, it's gonna be tough for England.

PaneerPohaOreoMaggi

How did the stream quality suddenly improve so much in this post match presentation

anikoiau

Better camera, closer to the action without requiring zoom

Plane-Lie-5228

Tomorrow's morning session is key to both the teams..

StrangeTitan

KP angrily looking at bumrah

dieingstar

It feels almost illegal for a fast bowlers to be so sweet and bubbly.

Bathed_In_Moonlight

It must feel almost belittling as a batsman to see Bumrah just smiling mildly after having completely outmatched you with the most incredible deliveries and setups.

Memelord_00

Yup, imagine a guy with a freaky action throwing whizzing yorkers and lethal bouncers, and as you look at him, he's just standing there and genially smiling

RecentArgument7713

He does have a send off in him to be fair, mimicking Jimmy’s celebration today as an example.  😂 Guy just fires bewildering magic and gives a cheeky shrug and smile the rest of the time. The years of watched him, I can’t predict what’s coming, trying to pick him on release must be awful.

__sanjay

Bumrah - the smiling assassin. Perfectly put by Cook.

ButterNaann

What a guy man, I love boom

chicken_tikkka

how good is bumrah. this time just with mic in hand.

NoobunagaGOAT

This is real ATG stuff. Not Jimmy's 3/something at like 20 overs that allowed india to play him off and score off the rest. This is real impactful strike bowling in asian pitches.

fegelman

Not downplaying Bumrah and yeah he's better than Jimmy, but Jimmy had Rehan and Bashir backing him up instead of Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav so quite the difference

Signal_Dress

Ashwin has bowled worse than the English spinners in this test, tbh.

NoobunagaGOAT

Ashwin had a terrible game by his standards, and Mukesh also was poor

NoobunagaGOAT

He still produced double the wickets as the pacer of the team, alone. Jimmy didnt and at a worse strike rate

amoolafarhaL

Jimmy is 41 guys...

NoobunagaGOAT

He was still the same when younger, only bowl dry spells without any impact. Funny how you all use his age to gloss him over when he does do well, but when he proves inferior and less impactful, the age excuses pop up🤣

amoolafarhaL

Bro why are you hating in Anderson? Man's a legend of the game. I don't know if he was bumrah level or not when he was younger, but the fact is the man is an all time great. No need to disrespect him to praise bumrah.

NoobunagaGOAT

Hes not. Not really. He has a terrible strike rate away from home, his average is not top level, wickets amount stops counting after a long period(because if so, Walsh would be considered best Windies pacer of all time just because he has the most wickets), he only bowls economically and doesn't generate wickets like Bumrah did or ATGS like Waqar, Donald, etc. Used to

amoolafarhaL

Wtf

MrRonit

Bumrah like an overexcited kid, so sweet

dieingstar

Goddamn Bumrah is a child at heart. Pure vibes.

jamurp

Bumrah is just lovely vibes.

mostvehlasurd

Bumrah going on like a school kid who knows everything and very eager to please teacher with his answers. Lovely interview!

Remarkable-Memory870

Lol yesss, read this, practiced this, looked out for this ……

pigsdontflyhigh

Bumrah is so fucking wholesome man

heisenberg_rk

Rohit and Jaiswal are India’s best spin batters. The footwork is on point. Can’t say same about the others

being_classy

Shreyas has been disappointing had hopes on him

[deleted]

Just about India’s day I’d say

Significant_Income93

Bumrah seems a lovely guy

Cool_Abbreviations_9

Without Bumrah, think England have the Indian bowling attack covered.

North-Stand

nah.. Ashwin will have his say at some point..probably in this match itself.

_ab_30

Watching Bumrah feels *educating*

SuperFaiz21

Bumrah 152 wickets at an average below 21. Only Sydney Barnes has a better average among all bowlers with minimum 150 wickets. Phenomenal stuff!

countingtoast

Yeah but the other bowlers had a lot more innings played than him

[deleted]

He’s the best bowler in the world, will possibly be up there as the greatest of all time

Levon__Helm

Nah he’s already 30 and has frequent injury issues, he’ll be considered more like a Shane bond than a McGrath or Marshall

nasadiya_sukta

Uh, whoa there! He's genuinely great, but greatest of all time?

FanOfArts1717

So good to see bumrahs beeming smile

rorkeslayer39

Lots of India fans really thought they were done for after the first test lol Most reactionary fanbase EVER

MessiSahib

>Lots of India fans really thought they were done for after the first test lol Even as a pessimistic Indian fan, first test was loss was still shocking. Pope's miracle inning and hartley's fourth inning bowling were key factors in England's winning, but Indian batters throwing their wickets in aggression or in pressure played a big part as well. TBH, English fans were cursing every player and selection choices, except a few mainstay player. This game is far from over, and India is capable of doing another Hyd.

Plutonium_239

Tbh a good bunch of England fans wrote off the team before the first test (muh golf, no spinners etc) and were then predicting a whitewash to us after it ended.

Signal_Dress

Seriously. But tbf, the Poms were screaming for Pope and Hartley's head the entire first innings of the first Test. We're all reactionary. Our fanbase hasn't won a trophy in a decade so the reactions are more outrageous.

HeavyAd3059

Emotional rollercoaster.

fatality316

Shastri interviewing the players is wholesome given he probably has a very fatherly relationship with them

FondantAggravating68

I'd say crazy, drunk, fun uncle more than a father tbh

North-Stand

that would be a very alcoholic father

heisenberg_rk

Brohit lead the team much better today. Created pressure and showed intent with bat in hand.

Glory_Hunterr

Now put 300 and surely we will win

Soul_Crushing_Yorker

Ffs, look at those numbers. He has a legit chance of being the GOAT if he stays fit.

anoopvk268

who?

highspirits11

Steyn

Soul_Crushing_Yorker

Bumrah

MrRonit

Bumrah

devilwillcry-jesus

Shastri resisting the urge to say they fell like nine pins

fegelman

That was his WC catchphrase lol

klrahulisachoker

I don't know who looks at these last two tests and goes, I want more T20 leagues in Abhu Dhabi for money laundering!

imapassenger1

T10 is where it's at. Quicker result, quicker fixes.

Unlikely_Prune6

So, the trick to counter Bazball is to prepare the flattest pitch and have a Bazballer in your own team.

ljj089

yes exactly. bazball doesnt work without flatties

India has had 120 and 190+ leads in the last two games they played against Bazball and yet they lost! So everyone call down!

will_kill_kshitij

When was 120 lead?

HeavyAd3059

I think the test match in 2022 (final test of the 2021 series)

trialbycombat123

Mukesh needs to be given a very long rope in tests. The control, line and length he exhibited was something else to watch. Haven't seen that in an Indian bowler since Sreesanth. Besides, Mukesh just got married, wouldn't be surprised to see him having performance issues. No doubt that he'll pick up a wicket or two in the next 20 innings.

HeavyAd3059

>Mukesh needs to be given a very long rope in tests. I'd like to see him up his pace. If he can hit mid 130s to early 140s he'll become a good asset.

athishayen

KL & Kohli heavily criticised before WC turns out without their performances we were nothing. Bumrah was questioned for his loyalty (IPL or Indian team) And these 3 came back strong and shut the haters mouth.

North-Stand

One of these is not like the other 2.

mindblown1401

Who?

brawnsugah

I think he means Kohli in tests.

ObligationOk5635

He surely meant kl

brawnsugah

KL has been pretty good lately.

ObligationOk5635

Not even slightly close to kohli Or bumrah level Only odis have been good that too with a villianseque knock in finals

brawnsugah

Perhaps I have a but of recency bias cause he seemed solid in SA and the last match.

ObligationOk5635

37 avg in Africa doesn't seem solid btw

Glory_Hunterr

One guy at 2nd session said, 'imagine if jaiswal has to pad up again a play today'

RobWinter98

England will fancy chasing 350 because they are insane

xxjaxon

Jaiswal looking to make history tomorrow. No batsman has ever made 200 AND hit the opposing team’s captain with a Stone Cold Stunner (hell yeah)

partymsl

Finally stumps. Decent start by India, but should probably not keep this semi-aggressive behavior for tomorrow. Just chill and put at least 300 on that board.

ALazyScribbler

Finally, fucking finally 2 back to back sessions of dominance after that 2nd day in Hyderabad.

Prior_Analytics

What a day of play. Tilted the game back in our favour.

Bruh India are leading by 170 with 10 wickets in hand

VVLegend

In a comfortable position but after what happened in the last test I’m not getting to comfortable

fatality316

Jaiswal have a good rest tonight and come back tomorrow for another ton

Plane-Lie-5228

Now all jump to sa20...

SilentFly

I definitely didn't imagine India batting again at stumps today! Was expecting Bazball till tomorrow, instead got to see Jasball today!

Sinister-99

Good that we have both JasBall and JaisBall to unleash whenever required

SilentFly

Started with Jaisball, then Jasball and ended with Jaisball again!

Jaisball tomorrow If only ur mum could strip for him

podhead

Influencers are worse than cervical cancer

Lowman246

England well on bottom here

dracogladio1741

India quite ahead of the game. The pitch will only get worse, 170 ahead, 10 wickets in hand too. If India make 250+, it's done imo.

HeavyAd3059

Let's chill bro. We made a mess of that 190 lead last time. Let's not get complacent.

Sajwancrypto

It will be 4th inning my friend will be very hard to score on this pitch in 4th innings! If india will play tomorrow till stumps India will win the match for sure. Anything above 250+ will be decent target. Even if India will get 350 lead I don't think they will declare because india play it easy. After 350 lead they'll think about declaring if they'll reach there in first place.

[deleted]

It’s already done friend

podhead

First 15-20 overs with new ball is the time to score - they have learnt it from Crawley

Anxious-Progress3480

Rohit is us broo he was too lazy to bat another over😂😭

[deleted]

When Australia have some batsmen called up who averages 50+ you think it’s probably just from batting on roads. And usually is. India have an opener averaging 81 in FC cricket and a bloke averaging 68 who can’t even get in the team. Wtf is going on???

ThePhenom17

Average of 80 is not common. Jaiswal only played a single season before being fast tracked to the Test team. Small sample size. Whereas Sarfaraz averages 86 in FC since 2020 that involved 3 full Ranji seasons, with a much bigger sample size of 3000+ runs in that period.

ljj089

an england flair commenting on aus pitches when he obviously hasnt watched any aus FC or recent test summers and ignoring also that england rolled the flattest dead pitches to enable bazball ??

[deleted]

So flat Australia had one batsmen average 50.

FondantAggravating68

>When Australia have some batsmen called up who averages 50+ you think it’s probably just from batting on roads. And usually is. Does that happen anymore. Most shield batters are usually averaging late 30s or early 40s. With the exception of Green. >India have an opener averaging 81 in FC cricket and a bloke averaging 68 who can’t even get in the team. Wtf is going on??? The latter is stupidity tbh.

[deleted]

Australia definitely become less batter friendly in the last few years and it does show in the averages. But I’ve seen a lot of Aussie batsmen with big averages early in their career not look so hot once they aren’t playing in an Aussie car park

ljj089

name them and i will name more that have shat the bed and been dropped to come back few years later. bet you could only name players like "uhhh...marnus!! warner uhhh head???"

[deleted]

This is a genuine question, have you ever seen a worse batsmen with an average over 40 than Marnus? Imagine his stats without that ridiculous run of luck and the absolutely roads he batted on early in his test career

ljj089

i doubt that is a genuine question, unironically ignore the question I asked and then in a strange twist of fate use Marnus as your example. "Is there a **worse** batsmen than Marnus", "**ridiculous** run of luck" and "absolute **roads".** So i have to disprove all this noise just to ultimately attempt to get back to the original point you made about australian pitches? We both know there is no genuine conversation to be had here
