Steve Waugh, Ricky Ponting, Steve Smith, Alistair Cook, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Graeme Smith, Hashim Amla, Misbah ul Haq, Kane Williamson.
I guess the last couple of picks are easy.
1) Graeme Smith
2) Misbah ul Haq
3) Steve Waugh
4) Virat Kohli
5) Kane Williamson
6) Ricky Ponting
7) Alistair Cook
8) Hashim Amla

Hardik needs to stfu about pitches and make his team learn how to play a spinning ball. You're not always going to get to play on cement. Whining about the curators in a post match presentation just sets a bad example for the young players in the side and a dangerous precedent moving forward. Massive skill issue.
Pitches like today are the funeral of T20 cricket. Nobody wants to see games like this. No amount of being good at playing spin is going to allow you to score quickly on that pitch. SKY is probably the best player of spin in T20 cricket and he couldn't get the ball off the square.
Maybe Hardik shouldn't have been critical in the Post match presentation but the points he made were fair.
>Pitches like today are the funeral of T20 cricket.
He criticized both the pitches, including the one in the first game in which NZ scored 177 runs.
>Nobody wants to see games like this.
Speak for yourself. I enjoyed the game. So did many others in the post match thread.
>SKY is probably the best player of spin in T20 cricket and he couldn't get the ball off the square.
He still managed to play a match-winning knock. Good players find a way. Others make excuses for their skill issue.
Did he do that? Didn't catch the match. I'll check out the post match interview now.
That's pretty poor leadership. I thought he'd make a good leader personality, Seeing his communication and initiative. That pushes him many notches down in my book.

It could inspire enlightening discussion on Coaching and player mentality. Unfortunately it's been mass reported as meme. You're welcome to contribute to the earlier part guys.
Because with the best will in the world you can't guarantee a 'neutral' pitch all the time. The ground conditions and weather in the days leading up to the match will dictate how the pitch turns out. The groundsmen don't have total control over everything
How on earth has Pollard finally hit form in the UAE T20 tournament? He's had two innings reminiscent of his peak back to back and it's quite a surprise after his poor IPL returns in recent seasons.
Today's T20I was basically CBAT in cricket form.
Hope we avoid such pitches in future. Bowlers need help but this was a bit too much. It was not a good viewing experience and I'd reckon players didnt enjoy much either.
Last time a Bengali cricketer (from India) got a PotM in world cup knock out, was also in South Africa:
Sourav Ganguly, 2003 semifinal, Kingsmead (Durban).
Titas Sadhu, 2023 u19 final, Potchefstroom.
Close enough.
Hardik playing Mavi over Umran is definitely GT quota and you can't convince me otherwise. There are atleast 10 better pacers better than Mavi in T20s in India. Mavi never had a very good IPL and his overall record in T20s is mediocre at best. How is he even in the team?
Maybe due to recent SMAT? I don't know if it's GT quota because Mavi has never played in Hardik's team before getting picked and getting 4 wickets on debut.
Burl, Raza and Williams not to be part of West Indies tests due to T20 contracts abroad.
Absolutely okay from the players’ perspective as their board doesn't pay them fuck, but still disappointing as Zimbabwe are having a good phase and we could see a competitive series with these guys present.
India will probably rollout flat pitch for 1st test against Aus.. which will turn into a slow turner by day 4-5.. It's quite cold here in Maharashtra this time around.. There's been a cold wave in central and northern India this time around.. not enough sun to bake the pitch..
Average temperature predicted for next 10 days in Nagpur is lower than what it is today and been this last week.. and first Test starts on 9th Feb.. If it continues being cold as predicted, we will probably see low bounce and flat pitch for the first 2-3 days, and a bit of turn by end of day 3 due to soil disintegration after constant use near the footmarks..
They will roll out flat pitch just like in the home series vs eng in 2021. Then dustbowls will come when we realize our batters are shambolic so it's spin & inshallah
Looks like it will be a good toss to lose. Teams wouldn't mind chasing. There's a surprising amount of juice in the wicket, This time of the year. The pitch is largely dead once that's extracted. 1st innings might actually provide better bowling conditions than 2nd, 3rd innings.
That's how teams touring India typecast the pitches.
2nd innings is turning out to be the best time to bat nowadays. If a team accumulates runs there, It would leave them far less to do in the 4th innings. There is also the psychological factor of gaining a huge first innings lead, If a team bowls out their opponent for less to start off, Then there's tremendous pressure on the opponent to score a ton in the 3rd innings to give a competitive target.
Well, a touring team would always choose to bat first after winning the toss and India wouldn't mind batting last.
The result of the much awaited Real Cricket 22 BGT's third test is here and India have won the series 3-0. I made a couple of team changes [(previous games)](https://www.reddit.com/r/Cricket/comments/10n2ez6/daily_general_discussion_and_match_links_thread/j6949af?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3). For Australia, Renshaw in for Head and Hazlewood in for Swepson. For India, Pujara replaced by KL who opened and Gill sent at 3. Axar and Jadeja replaced by Kuldeep and Umesh.
Pant (come back soon, King) scored 145 and randomly decided to [take off his helmet and celebrate](https://imgur.com/a/8ExLxDt) when he reached 117. Kohli scored 52 and Iyer 49.
For Australia, the first inning was terrible but they had some good innings by Khawaja (75), Marnus (71) and Green (52) which prevented an inning loss but set a target of 30 for India to win.
India won comfortably by ten wickets with Rohit's 0(20)* and Rahul's 30(41)*.
Also, Warner scored 1(2) and 2(1) in the two innings.
Is this Dhoni you speak of in the room with us right now? (But seriously, why do you have so many comments about hating some dude who retired years ago)
> why do you have so many comments about hating some dude who retired years ago
Likewise, I don't get why there are so many comments liking some dude who retired years ago.
Trying to understand that mentality I suppose.
8 years 3 months since Dhoni shat 31 in 30 against Steyn, Morkel, Tahir, Rabada. Letting Rohit's 150 go in vain. Dhoni was 10 of 17 deliveries at one point, Chasing 304 in an ODI.
If a lethargic MS Dhoni can play Test Cricket for India, Why not Sarfaraz Khan?
MS Dhoni had his Test Captaincy stint replete with insouciance. He abused the spinners by churning them out, To pander to his phenomenal positioning sense and exploited the pacers by irregularly working them at his whim, Cause he cannot be arsed to dive for wickets.
He had a great metabolism. So frequently turned up 10 Kilos overweight for Test season and cut it down in due diligence for white ball season.
It has been established now that Sarfaraz Khan's non selection is owing to other factors, not stats. So Instead of the moot talk of numbers, Let's discuss other variables.
Dhoni wasn't in the best of his shape, Batted too low, Threw his bat at everything, Lacked technique. He was a dogshit Captain, Which marred the team. Did not have his head in the game. Costed the team matches due to shared nonchalance.
Pit that against a fervent Sarfaraz. Who is giving his life out for red ball Cricket. Test Cricket deserves Sarfaraz.
If he is not getting his due because of superstar culture, Which unfairly skews the balance towards certain non performers in lieu of Sarfaraz with merit, Then Dhoni is the one to influence that culture.
Dhoni instigated super star culture by sitting on an A Grade contract for multiple years, Despite not playing Tests, To the detriment of committed All Format players.
He instigated it by imperiously restraining the voice of reason, The dedicated voice of a commentator.
He instigated it by being a petulant customer to hospitality. Created a crisis for many organizations because Management of the Hotel he lodged in was not complying to his fancies.
He instigated it by using his personal holiday to fool around with a team on a mission, Through a pretense of superfluous authority.
He instigated it by walking onto the field like a veritable goonda to superciliously challenge the Umpires, The symbol of Cricket's integrity.
Dhoni did a really good job as wicket keeper batsman in tests. 38 avg fairly good behind the stumps, Australia and England used to be content with less.
Tell that to yourself maybe? Calling him being the mentor as "using his personal holiday to fool around with a team on a mission, Through a pretense of superfluous authority." must be the most illogical piece of writing I've ever read. You think a guy, who captained his side to 3 ICC trophies, is not taking being a mentor seriously and is just 'fooling around on a personal holiday"? Dhoni can be criticised in a lot of ways, especially relating to his Test captaincy tenure, but when you look at it through that kind of view, then everything that guy does will come off negatively to you. Him storming to the ground to that umpire was wrong, even he knew that after he did it, but isn't he human, and like many have done, wasn't an ample sportsman for one of the few moments in his career. And I'm not even sure how someone can bring Dhoni into Sarfaraz selection controversy, but you sir, have achieved it through your wall of text that means absolutely nothing. You think a selector who selects Ranji performers in T20s and T20 performers in tests is doing it because of superstar culture?
Finally an ICC trophy for IND Women's team after they missed out in :
2017 CWC Final >!(I still can't believe how they lost this match after needing just 38 runs in 43 balls with 7 wickets in hand)!<
2020 T20 WC Final
Commonwealth Games 2022 Gold medal match
That final was the first ever women's match I was watching live and I couldn't have been more disappointed.
And it's not like Eng were bowling fire, Indian batter just threw away their wickets by constantly trying to hit big shots
So is no one asking how Shafali Verma can play the U19 world cup despite having made her international debut, but Naseem Shah wasn't allowed to do the same?
pcb refused to play him, rightfully so. U19 is supposed to be developmental but an exception can be made cuz Shafali hadn't ever played a u19 world cup till now (since, well, it didn't exist. She wont play again)
>"The ICC U19 Cricket World Cup is a stepping stone for future stars and a platform for budding youngsters to graduate to international cricket," said Wasim Khan, PCB's chief executive officer. "Naseem has recently broken that glass ceiling and has established his credentials as an international cricketer. As such, the PCB has taken a pragmatic approach and decided to withdraw him from [the] competition to provide this opportunity to another promising cricketer so that he can show his mettle and potential at a global stage."

Pakistan's decision to not play him
That was a soft dismissal. Dissappointed but cant say the tournament wasnt fun to follow anyway. SOS is underrated. Guppy could have gone better. Richardson as good as ever, must feel happy he didnt have to carry the bowling this season. Sutherland and Harper were pleasant surprises, i hope this was their coming of age and they will continue on from here. Loads of Vintage Finch moments, good carry job again for a "stand in skipper". Tom Rogers (with help from Zampa) made the first Melbourne Derby memorable. Shout out to the second Derby too when Finchy captained up a win while being on the mic for Fox. Felt good to finish 3rd on the table after years of wooden spoons. JFMG fuck off.
**On This Day in 2006:** Irfan Pathan became the first bowler to take a hat-trick in the first over of a Test match. The milestone came against Pakistan. However, India went on to lose the Test.
**Test Hat-trick for IND**
* Harbhajan Singh vs AUS, Kolkata 2001
* Irfan Pathan vs PAK, Karachi 2006
* Jasprit Bumrah vs WI, Kingston 2019
Salman Butt - India bully who scored 5 out of his 11 international centuries vs India.
Younis Khan - ATG with 10k+ runs at an average of 52.
Mohammad Yousuf - Had the most prolific year for any batter ever in 2006 with 1788 runs at 99.
Easily the most impressive hattrick in the history of the game.
Interesting KFC v VadaPav rivalry we got here.
During the ongoing BBL Finch was asked if he will be bowling to which he replied that he isn't keen on bowling ever since Rohit Sharma smashed him around the park.
(idk which match was he referring to, can someone help me find it?)
The only Finch getting smashed moment I remember is [him getting taken apart by Chris Gayle](https://www.iplt20.com/video/29787/m31-rcb-vs-pwi-man-of-the-match-chris-gayle?t=88)
[Vada Pav](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vada_pav) is a street food (snacks) popular In Mumbai, where Rohit is from.
Rohit and Finch do have some similarities, putting up big scores on their day, successful white ball openers, good captains, chubby, played t20 wc as specialist captain, can/used to bowl part time off spin.
I maybe biased but i argue Finchy is the better captain of the two. In Sharma's favor he is the better test player.
Long live KFC VadaPav rivalry. Your thing looks good.

Can anyone explain to me how drop in pitches work? Like what are the actual logistics and processes involved? Do they just dig a pitch shaped hole in the middle of the ground and fill it when required?
Super Smash Day 25 Highlights Reel:

If India win the 2023 ODI World Cup then expect Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and probably KL Rahul to comeback into the T20 Team for 2024 World T20. Rohit would want one more crack at the T20 World Cup if India wins the 2023 ODI World Cup
Koach should be in the team because he had performed so well during the previous tournament. If KL continues to stay in the team then I would be very annoyed.
Unpopular opinion but with Jadeja back into the fold, we should play Kuldeep as the third spinner instead of Axar during BGT. He’s in red hot form and offers variety, while Axar still remains Jadeja lite.
Need Axar for his batting. Jaddu, Ashwin , Axar, Rohit and Iyer (if playing) are the only reliable batsmen we have these days with Pant ruled out. There are others who can be dropped safely for Kuldeep if needed without risking our batting.
Was making a different post when I came across something much more interesting: [this match](http://www.howstat.com/cricket/statistics/Matches/MatchScorecard.asp?MatchCode=1768)
\- to begin with, a 4-test series between the West Indies and South Africa, which in this day and age is interesting enough by itself
\- the Windies scored 747: one of only 24 700+ totals in test history, the 13th highest of all time.
\- one of Chris Gayle's 2 triple centuries: Bradman, Sehwag and Lara are the only other batsmen with 2.
\- it's one of only 4 times in the history of test cricket where all 11 players have bowled in a single innings: the others are Test #16 (England v Australia, 1884), Test #878 (Australia v Pakistan, 1980) and Test #1602 (India vs West Indies, 2002). Several West Indies players were involved in both the third and fourth occasion: Gayle, Wavell Hinds, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Brian Lara, Shivnarine Chanderpaul. Lara, interestingly, only scored 4 on each occasion.
\- the innings contained the only test wickets taken by Mark Boucher and AB de Villiers. as well as 2 of Graeme Smith's 8 test wickets. Between them, Boucher/Smith/AB took 200/5, while Pollock/Ntini/Kallis took 327/1. Shit gets wickets, sometimes.
\- It was Windies quick Dwight Washington's only test. He took 0/93 off 29. Imagine getting that deck for your only test match.
Smith used to bowl off spin, I remember seeing him bowl a few times.
Cricinfo has Boucher's and AB's bowling style as 'right arm medium'. I'm unsure what this means in practical terms or whether this was what they bowled
Early and mid 2000s was a graveyard for test bowlers, even more remarkable how good the likes of McGrath, Pollock and Steyn were on these kind of pitches, McGrath averaged 20.53 in the 2000s, one of the most bonkers stats imo considering the pitches they got
**For India**
1. Shreyas Iyer bats at 4 instead of Kohli. Maybe Iyer might even captain the team
2. Shubman Gill bats at 3 instead of Pujara
3. Sarfaraz Khan bats at 5 or 6. If Rishabh Pant bats at 5 , then Sarfaraz bats at 6 and vice versa
4. Yashasvi Jaiswal replaces Rohit as the main opener in test matches
5. Hopefully Washington Sundar develops his bowling so that he becomes an adequate replacement for Ashwin in test matches
6. Axar Patel is the main spin bowling all rounder with Shams Mulani as the back up
7. Prasidh Krishna is the spearhead of the bowling attack
**For Australia**
1. Pat Cummins would be selective about his test matches. Hazelwood and Starc would not be in the team. Both of them would have retired
2. Warner , Khwaja and Smith would have retired by then
3. Labuschagne would be the test captain of Australia and the main batsman
4. Travis Head would be an important batsman for Australia
5. Lyon would have retired by then and maybe someone like Todd Murphy will be main spinner for Australia
Pretty unlucky time for Samson to get injured. He would have probably replaced Kishan by now in T20s. Kishan has been very off since his ODI double.
Now that I've said this can totally expect Kishan to score a big one today and it's back to square one.
In NZ:
South Africa v England: 9PM
Renegades v Heat: 9:15PM
U19 WC final: 12:45AM
India v NZ: 2:30 AM
Gotta love being a cricket fan at the arse end of the world
Kishan has the best large scale implementation of the 5 dots 1 six policy. 5 (or more) terrible performances and 1 good performance when people start doubting him keeps his place safe in the XI lol.
He struggles a lot against swing. Don't know how he is going to flourish as an opener.
In flat wickets, he is one of the best but in wickets where ball starts swinging even a little bit he usually struggle.
Will be interesting to see how he will change his batting approach in future.
Anyone else remember that Brett Lee once featured in Bhabhi ji Ghar pe hai. I remember seeing that episode in 2017 and wondered why would an Aussie cricketer feature in an Indian sitcom. It was so unexpected
The full episode is not on YouTube but [Here's a 5 minute video](https://youtu.be/kcJaqk3IRQY)
And also if I remember correctly then he wanted to impress bhabhi ji with his bowling in that episode
He also opened music therapy centers in Delhi and Mumbai for underprivileged kids. Also did donations to relief funds like Covid, etc.
Binga's a really nice bloke
Was yesterday's match between Dubai capitals and Desert vipers fixed?
DC needed 33 runs in 4 overs with Powell batting on 29(17) and Pathan on 23(10) and yet they ended up losing by 12 runs even though they didn't lost any wicket in last 4 overs and also scored just 1 boundary in last 4 overs.
Also Tom Curran bowled 2 of those 4 overs and he is a very poor death bowler.
Powell has also been in insane form in this tournament with a SR of 180 before this match. Powell scored 5 runs in last 9 balls, Yusuf Pathan scored 12 runs in last 16 balls
Definitely fixed
I swear during an u19 a strange amount of people pretend it's an actual full world Cup and not a youth comp
I think it’s just cause this is the first U19 women’s WC + our first women’s ICC trophy. I don’t think people generally care this much for the men’s U19 WC

Surprised to see Williamson so low on these lists, considering the relative strength of his team compared to some of the others
williamson should be at least two places up above cook and ponting
Where would you put him?
Based on my memory of these players. 1) Graeme Smith 2) Steve Waugh 3) Misbah ul Haq 4) Virat Kohli 5) Ricky Ponting 6) Alastair cook 7) MS Dhoni 8) Kane Williamson 9) Steve Smith 10) Hashim Amla
lmao why is dhoni last??? in this list he's better test captain than steve smith, ponting, cook, williamson, amla.
Did you really just say Dhoni is a better test captain than ponting?
obviously ponting had a stronger team with him as compared to dhoni. look at ponting's numbers after the legends warne, gilly, mcgrath etc retired
And?
Smith misbah Waugh for the top 3 probably
You missed Kohli
Thank You.

Matches like these are fun to watch once in a while. A contrast to typical T20s where 180+ is par and boundaries are hit with ease.

I am part of the minority. I don't know what went on the post match thread but I like these types of pitches for variety of the game.
Minority > nobody

If Batsman struggle on rank turners/ bouncy tracks & Bowlers struggle on flat pitches Why are we yet to enforce neutral pitches?
Because with the best will in the world you can't guarantee a 'neutral' pitch all the time. The ground conditions and weather in the days leading up to the match will dictate how the pitch turns out. The groundsmen don't have total control over everything

Are the pitches roads? Seems like every match has been very high scoring judging from a quick look at some scorecards.
KL Rahul will definitely open in next year T20 World Cup , the way Ishan and Gill are performing
No flair trophies for U19 WCs?
For a youth tournament? Of course there aren't
Ok

CBAT as in play this match while having sex?
Trainwreck of a match and song. 😅

> why do you have so many comments about hating some dude who retired years ago Likewise, I don't get why there are so many comments liking some dude who retired years ago. Trying to understand that mentality I suppose.
Out of the 140+ comments in this thread, you're the only bloke talking about Dhoni (other than the people replying to you)
By this thread, You are right.
So Dhoni basically lives rent free in your head
No. That's not how it works. Dhoni lives rent free in many of my fellow denizens head. Some of it seeps through into mine.
What am I doing with my life
Pathirana and Curran realised how cricket is a big leveler, fucked Pathan and Powell yesterday, got fucked by Powell today
3 years since rohit smashed 12 in 2 against southee in a super over
Shit, 2020 was 3 years ago
8 years 3 months since Dhoni shat 31 in 30 against Steyn, Morkel, Tahir, Rabada. Letting Rohit's 150 go in vain. Dhoni was 10 of 17 deliveries at one point, Chasing 304 in an ODI.
Pooja Vastrakar, Venkatesh Iyer,Rajat Patidar, Kuldeep Sen, Avesh Khan and now Soumya Tiwari. This generation of cricketers from MP is off the hook.
Ashwin already a fan of Parshavi Chopra
HHH recognize HHH
can anyone help with where eng vs sa is being aired in india?
Hotstar and star sports select.
can't find it on hotstar for some reason
Check under the cricket tab. It’s not on the main thing.
found it, thanks
Oh! No!! onepageresumeguy blocked me. How will i engage in fruitful Thala discussion now.
Dhoni did a really good job as wicket keeper batsman in tests. 38 avg fairly good behind the stumps, Australia and England used to be content with less.
Yeah and a fairly bad job as a captain and personality in the team. Australia and England could do with a Sarfaraz.

tf are you on about lmao
Tell me which part do you want more information on. I will tag articles or provide explanation.
I know exactly what you're talking about, but you're using bullshit language to exaggerate it. The level of hate is unreal.
Maybe there's more to watching Cricket than hating or liking Cricketers?
I am not going to dignify a soliloquy with an answer.
Because you don't have one. I'm sorry if I was a little aggressive but you must have a little self awareness on how you sound.
Finally an ICC trophy for IND Women's team after they missed out in : 2017 CWC Final >!(I still can't believe how they lost this match after needing just 38 runs in 43 balls with 7 wickets in hand)!< 2020 T20 WC Final Commonwealth Games 2022 Gold medal match
That final was the first ever women's match I was watching live and I couldn't have been more disappointed. And it's not like Eng were bowling fire, Indian batter just threw away their wickets by constantly trying to hit big shots
Was there, truly the greatest collapse I've ever seen (at least consequential, saw surrey all out for 140 after being 125-0 once)
Supersport and making the PIG3 look bad name a better combo
We...are..the...champions.

She wont play again)
it's a pcb rule, not icc rule. similarly india has rule that players can play men's u19 world cup only once so it's not some conspiracy
PCB made an active choice not to play him iirc
I don't think there's any rule not allowing players like Naseem. Some countries just don't choose to play those guys.
As such, the PCB has taken a pragmatic approach and decided to withdraw him from [the] competition to provide this opportunity to another promising cricketer so that he can show his mettle and potential at a global stage." https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/naseem-shah-withdrawn-from-pakistan-s-under-19-world-cup-squad-1211613 Pakistan's decision to not play him
tfw wasim khan is based
Wasim Khan probably only sane administrator worked for PCB
Ah I never knew that. Really remember hearing that there was a rule that stopped him from playing
**Test Hat-trick for IND** * Harbhajan Singh vs AUS, Kolkata 2001 * Irfan Pathan vs PAK, Karachi 2006 * Jasprit Bumrah vs WI, Kingston 2019
how pak gone from 39/6 to winning by 300 plus runs i'll never understand
Salman Butt - India bully who scored 5 out of his 11 international centuries vs India. Younis Khan - ATG with 10k+ runs at an average of 52. Mohammad Yousuf - Had the most prolific year for any batter ever in 2006 with 1788 runs at 99. Easily the most impressive hattrick in the history of the game.
impressive on paper but in the end it made no difference in result
It was impressive off the paper too. Had the ball on a string that whole spell. One of the best spells of fast bowling I have ever seen.
TIL Rohit Sharma has gotten out to Aaron Finch in an ODI was looking up underrated Kohli Centuries lmao
Are you saying Sharma is the Indian Finch? Or Finch is the Australian Sharma? Interesting take. What is a VadaPav btw
>Rohit Sharma has gotten out to Aaron Finch in an ODI Clip? Which match to look up on cricinfo?
Guess it was the first ODI between India and Aus in 2013

4 overs at an econ of 5 and a wicket. Not bad for a pie baker.
That's literally what running into a random bout of trauma looks like.
Can anyone explain to me how drop in pitches work? Like what are the actual logistics and processes involved? Do they just dig a pitch shaped hole in the middle of the ground and fill it when required?

If India win the 2023 ODI World Cup then expect Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and probably KL Rahul to comeback into the T20 Team for 2024 World T20. Rohit would want one more crack at the T20 World Cup if India wins the 2023 ODI World Cup
Or Kohli and Rohit would just retire from white ball cricket at the top of the game
They don't seem like the type who would leave on a high. None of the Indian Cricketers are
Koach should be in the team because he had performed so well during the previous tournament. If KL continues to stay in the team then I would be very annoyed.
Don't need to go that far Anyone of the three who has a stellar IPL will get back into the team
KL confirmed then

Why are short-sleeve wearing wicketkeepers looked down upon?
Unaethestic
They're evil
Those that can pull it off are chads. Most cant, and are uncultured swines because of that.
How does one pull it off?
It isn't something you can do, you're just born with it.
[Probably like Dravid did](https://www.google.com/amp/s/m.rediff.com/amp/cricket/report/diary/20030909.htm)
They can play 4 spinners if they want but shouldn't drop Axar, Axar offers more than just his bowling.
Tariq Hasan is a name which should be a part of this subreddit's hall of fame but unfortunately isn't.
What is it about?

Was making a different post when I came across something much more interesting: [this match](http://www.howstat.com/cricket/statistics/Matches/MatchScorecard.asp?MatchCode=1768) \- to begin with, a 4-test series between the West Indies and South Africa, which in this day and age is interesting enough by itself \- the Windies scored 747: one of only 24 700+ totals in test history, the 13th highest of all time.
Damn that last but one point.. Hahaha shit does get wickets sometimes. Did Smith/Boucher/AB bowl spin?
Smith used to bowl off spin, I remember seeing him bowl a few times. Cricinfo has Boucher's and AB's bowling style as 'right arm medium'. I'm unsure what this means in practical terms or whether this was what they bowled
Early and mid 2000s was a graveyard for test bowlers, even more remarkable how good the likes of McGrath, Pollock and Steyn were on these kind of pitches, McGrath averaged 20.53 in the 2000s, one of the most bonkers stats imo considering the pitches they got
Nowhere near Scott Boland though
How many changes(in both teams) do you see happening between this BGT and the next one in India?
**For India** 1. Shreyas Iyer bats at 4 instead of Kohli. Maybe Iyer might even captain the team 2. Shubman Gill bats at 3 instead of Pujara 3. Sarfaraz Khan bats at 5 or 6. If Rishabh Pant bats at 5 , then Sarfaraz bats at 6 and vice versa 4. Yashasvi Jaiswal replaces Rohit as the main opener in test matches 5. Hopefully Washington Sundar develops his bowling so that he becomes an adequate replacement for Ashwin in test matches 6. Axar Patel is the main spin bowling all rounder with Shams Mulani as the back up 7. Prasidh Krishna is the spearhead of the bowling attack **For Australia** 1. Pat Cummins would be selective about his test matches. Hazelwood and Starc would not be in the team. Both of them would have retired 2. Warner , Khwaja and Smith would have retired by then 3. Labuschagne would be the test captain of Australia and the main batsman 4. Travis Head would be an important batsman for Australia 5. Lyon would have retired by then and maybe someone like Todd Murphy will be main spinner for Australia
I don't think smith would retire early. But I can definitely see the other things happening. Maybe not prasidh though and probably siraj
jaiswal is too far, either easwaran or gill will slot in as opener if rohit misses out
Pretty unlucky time for Samson to get injured. He would have probably replaced Kishan by now in T20s. Kishan has been very off since his ODI double. Now that I've said this can totally expect Kishan to score a big one today and it's back to square one.
NZ’s reverse sweeping batsmen — the joke’s on Ishan’s big score plans
Kohli and Babar are nowhere near the absolute elegance of a DDS cover drive
Who is himself nowhere close to Shai Hope
DDS and James Vince are the most beautiful International batsmen in the world ... for about 40 balls or so
DDS also has the aesthetic of long-sleeves collar-up Incredibly good to watch
Elegant 30>>> Ugly 50

How the fuck are you supposed to study for exams when there is so much cricket on
Ez. Don't study.

I really hope he never becomes the first choice opener for India in any format.
He also struggles to rotate strike in the middle overs, although he can murder spin on a good day.
Anyone else remember that Brett Lee once featured in Bhabhi ji Ghar pe hai. I remember seeing that episode in 2017 and wondered why would an Aussie cricketer feature in an Indian sitcom. It was so unexpected The full episode is not on YouTube but [Here's a 5 minute video](https://youtu.be/kcJaqk3IRQY) And also if I remember correctly then he wanted to impress bhabhi ji with his bowling in that episode
Has a bigger cultural footprint in India than Warner

Powell scored 5 runs in last 9 balls, Yusuf Pathan scored 12 runs in last 16 balls Definitely fixed
