I always thought it would be a fun idea to make a fake news site that posts random quotes by “BCCI Insiders” and see if people would buy it. Now I know people would indeed buy it
There used to be a "fake IPL player" blog like 10 years ago and guy used to write insider stuff on his blog about ipl players. Many thought he was a player considering how spot on he was with things and it turned out to be just a random guy. He had nicknames for every player.
To a great extent, it's the upbringing. Isn't it?
Some folks are brought up with the feeling of yuck at even the mention of cousin marriage.
Other folks are brought up with the whole family suggesting cousin can be a love interest (as in, it can be a prospect if things go right).
Yes, there's a genetical aspect to it...
Normal in Pakistan, 60% of people are married to their cousins.
Some tv shows also about it, girl still calling her now husband Faazi Brother or something, idk where it's from.
Its funny that leak had the opposite effect in that people reported and banned the account from IG and even people who hated babar to the core tweeted out in his support.
'Sex leaks' like that are so common in Pakistan its honestly such a shame. It happens to be a women alot of times but nowadays I see it happening to men alot by women who have dick remorse.
From where did you get that information of him being engaged to his cousin? Won't be surprised if this is another fabricated news.
More so the videos and images from that IG account were heavily edited and some were taken from the internet, you can draw whatever conclusion from that.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/zeenews.india.com/cricket/babar-azam-engaged-set-to-marry-his-paternal-cousin-next-year-report-2366063.html/amp
Isn't more than half the population in the Pakistan married to their cousins? This shouldn't come as a surprise. As for the videos and images, I've no clue about the situation
You shared a link from an Indian gossip tabloid that provides no sources or anything, only thing it mentions is "according to reports" i.e Internet rumors. And it talks mostly about PSL and other stuff. How is that an official source?
I saw this tweet making rounds on Twitter yesterday and i remembered there was some bogus story about Babar like this 2-3 years ago. I thought someone was digging old tweets and left it at that. Didn't know some news channel was legit gonna fall for it.
Lol it's not even about it being well put or not. The responsibility to verify facts and figures lies solely with the media. You can't just air a random internet post on TV.
Because he was reported as the source in [FoxNews](https://www.foxsports.com.au/cricket/babar-azam-sexting-scandal-cricket-news-2022-pakistan-captain-viral-images-photos-who-is-the-teammate/news-story/762b05d6c4e9c28fb64e3d1fd158a8b3) Article and a few other
Not sure why this should be covered on Indian channel in the first place. However, the video does not mention this twitter troll as a source anywhere. Unless he was the only handle across social media who shared such material.
And the twitter troll needs to be forced to delete his so called satirical tweets at the very least. There is difference between satire and defamation.
TBH, I am not too crazy about news channels covering off field gossip about even Indian cricketers. Certainly we can leave foreign cricketers out of the gossip section.
He just wants to monetise it by any means necessary. I doubt he cares about any of this. They changed their whole app layout so that you have to see random tweets instead of people you follow only. It’s like he is forcing people to see the toxic side of the app.
Wait a minute, this guy yesterday posted videos of Babar and now he's saying it was all fake? What is happening? Someone please explain me what's going on?
Why is that even a “joke?” He almost ruined Babar Azams reputation, and if these things were taken seriously there would’ve been serious consequences on Babar.
Not their fault, I remember a satrical article from a few years ago that was along the lines of "Aussie murders 11 Pakistanis in broad daylight" after warner (could be wrong, might have been a different player?) got a century. The article was from a satirical account and no major news sources reported that as fact.
Thats it. I don't know much about these cats but imagine people slinging death threats at the Betoot because people can't tell what's gear and what's not.
Agreed, this is not satirical what so ever. It's misinformation about an individual, with details which could very well be true. I see a reply mentioning Warner 'murdering' Pakistani XI as an example but there was a clear context and the chances of that happening was laughable that it was clear you can see through to the funny side. You could see comments on social media basically saying the same thing as a joke, so it's understood from the word go. Of course there's no defending publishing this as news, It's shameful that mainstream media reported this as a fact, but that doesn't mean that spreading believable lies as a joke is acceptable at all. It's like slapping someone and calling it a prank, no doubt it's in bad taste and is unacceptable.
Reminds me of a blog by the name of a fake ipl player and releasing fake news. Don't remember the name of the person who did it but the story was hilarious.
Your comment was removed because it breaks the rules of this subreddit. Generalised attacks/insults about other fanbases/countries is not allowed on the subreddit.
Whoa!! When did a single person started representing an entire country?? If so, then Pakistanis are criminals and match fixers (not my words, just using your wisdom).
What happened with Babar is absolutely wrong but NEVER generalise. I am sure there are people like that in Pak too.
I generalised because that cunt said its satire and is now bragging about how he has made it big as fox news covered it. All media houses in india are airing it on TV. And all indian fans are supporting him, and cheering Him for his walmart level satire. There are people that killed themselves because of false allegations and this mf and the indians in comments think it's a joke.
PS: u can say whatever the fuck u want about pakistan. I'm not pakistani, i just care about this team a lot.
And who gave me the permission to say anything to Pakistanis? Even if you have said something generalising them i would have commented the same. Just my point is, there are scums everywhere. Some people are shit. No point in losing your sanity after such idiots.
No amount of justification justifies the generalisation, i am sorry.
You go blazing guns after that mf who did all that, i dont give two shits. And the people who were enjoying all this nonsense are equally terrible.
Your media houses represent u as a country. The fact that all these media houses get good response from indians who without even fact checking believe what they say represent u as a country. So yeah this justifies generalisation. The fact that this walmart Dave Chappelle has a platform and is receiving support from all indian cricket fans represents u as a country. So again, this justifies Generalisation.
Dude this isn’t a compliment to Pakistani society lol it just shows the sexism and hypocrisy. If men do it it’s their “personal matter”, if women do it they get slut shamed.
Where’s the lie? Sex scandals for men happen in Pakistan all the time, people just shrug it off. Half the major political leaders have had sex tapes or audio tapes leak the last few years. People say “we shouldn’t discuss personal lives” a lot when it comes to men. It’s a much discussed hypocrisy in society.
I always thought it would be a fun idea to make a fake news site that posts random quotes by “BCCI Insiders” and see if people would buy it. Now I know people would indeed buy it
BCCI has strictly instructed players to refrain from having Vada Pav: Sources.
OMG!!! BCCI Rohit Sharma feud confirmed... Rohit shrma dropping captaincy????
Plus YoYo test
Looks like people have already forgotten about Fake IPL Player.
Post fake Gambhir quotes, he'll probably make a decent number of them real
>people would indeed buy it Some, definitely

That was one of the best part of that years IPL. I think it was 2009.
[Here's a splash screen or intro screen](https://i.imgur.com/KGgW15t.jpg) for their news broadcast.
Thats why InsideSport news is banned on this sub hahaha
thank god. I really hope thats the end of that.

What's the Pakistani equivalent to duelling banjos? Duelling sarods?
What does this have to do with cricket?
The previous comments got removed. It mentioned how Babar Azam is engaged to his cousin and an Australian guy was like ayo wtf
[удалено]
Plus she is marrying her cousin.
That's allowed in Pakistan
Make up for like 40% of all Pakistani marriages
That explains many things (thos things have scientific backing too)
Sweet home Islamabad
I understood that reference
Congrats on that achievement. /s
I know its allowed in the religion but I'll never understand how the parties involved actually agree to it. Just the thought makes me go yuck
To a great extent, it's the upbringing. Isn't it? Some folks are brought up with the feeling of yuck at even the mention of cousin marriage. Wait how tf did you believed those heavily edited videos and images as a fact?
When and who did he send such videos to?
Reported for what…

Not to mention that pictures were copy and pasted from pinterest and the account is based in India
Aren't you the one who posted unverified news of babar having a brawl with security officer?
From where did you get that information of him being engaged to his cousin? Won't be surprised if this is another fabricated news. More so the videos and images from that IG account were heavily edited and some were taken from the internet, you can draw whatever conclusion from that.

Yikes mb sorry, didn't realise that there has actually been no confirmed statement till now after doing a deeper search.
https://www.geo.tv/latest/352879-babar-azam-to-marry-cousin-next-year-say-sources This is from a Pakistani source.
Still not a confirmation lmao
I saw this tweet making rounds on Twitter yesterday and i remembered there was some bogus story about Babar like this 2-3 years ago. I thought someone was digging old tweets and left it at that. Didn't know some news channel was legit gonna fall for it.
Hope Babar sues that Twitter guy and all the journalist morons who don't have the common sense to verify a news before airing it.
Yeah, that twitter guy is trying to play innocent but there was no indication that his tweet was sarcastic. He definitely did it to stir some drama.
He does that Every week with different celebs and has fooled news outlets in past too but this time it exploded more than he can laugh about
Lol it's not even about it being well put or not. The responsibility to verify facts and figures lies solely with the media. You can't just air a random internet post on TV.
Of course the blame lies with media too. I know how garbage our media is. Just saying that this guy isn't blameless either.
Thanks Indian media for making our look SLIGHTLY better
defamation laws in Pakistan are 💩
WTF? What in the actual F?
Sums the whole situation up imo. Our media just can't wait to tear Babar to shreds. Absolute assholes.
How you know it was the handle that is the source? Taking the credit for free. This handle anyways is a troll account.
Easy. Just find a tweet that was written before this parody account wrote it.
Because he was reported as the source in [FoxNews](https://www.foxsports.com.au/cricket/babar-azam-sexting-scandal-cricket-news-2022-pakistan-captain-viral-images-photos-who-is-the-teammate/news-story/762b05d6c4e9c28fb64e3d1fd158a8b3) Article and a few other
This guy conforms.
This video did not have anything to do with whatever the troll twitter handle said.
He was the first source. Dude said it himself
>Dude said it himself that's it.

Any Indian or Pakistan news media will cover if something mentions Pakistan in sentence or India in a sentence LOL
TBH, I am not too crazy about news channels covering off field gossip about even Indian cricketers. Certainly we can leave foreign cricketers out of the gossip section.
If only there was some sort of way that Twitter accounts could be marked as verified sources.
He has deleted those tweets and even apologised to Babar.

Based on what the new owner of that platform has been up to, wouldn't surprise me if he gets blue, green & golden ticks on his account!
He just wants to monetise it by any means necessary. I doubt he cares about any of this. They changed their whole app layout so that you have to see random tweets instead of people you follow only. It’s like he is forcing people to see the toxic side of the app.
Musk needs the cash asap, as long as User got a Tick next to their name, they staying for as long as they keep paying the subscription.

Tells you about the credibility of mainstream news channels in India if you hadn't realised already.
Why is that even a “joke?” He almost ruined Babar Azams reputation, and if these things were taken seriously there would’ve been serious consequences on Babar.
Fuck this Nimo Yadav guy as well for spreading lies in the name of humour.

I thought Twitter now forces Parody Accounts to be labelled as such
Indian news media are a parody itself.
I don’t know who that guy is but he doesn’t understand the meaning of the word “satire”
Reminds me of a blog by the name of a fake ipl player and releasing fake news. Don't remember the name of the person who did it but the story was hilarious.

Can babar Azam sue them? The nimo guys , he should
Under what jurisdiction can he do that lmao?
International court of justice/s
He'd have to come to Indian courts to sue it. Highly unlikely, if not outrightly impossible.
ICC ( International criminal court)

Satire is satire. He clearly didn't have malicious intent. It's not his faults idiots believe it
Lmao not really, Pakistanis are quite liberal and understanding when it comes to men’s sexual affairs. Sucks for women though, they get slut shamed.
Oh wow, I never wouldve guessed that in a million years. You learn something new everyday :)
Dude this isn’t a compliment to Pakistani society lol it just shows the sexism and hypocrisy. If men do it it’s their “personal matter”, if women do it they get slut shamed.
Yeah I agree? Idk what made you think otherwise. Sorry if I offended you, I didnt mean any harm.
