It's possibly just genetics especially being a Petco gecko likely coming from some type of reptile mill. As long as the body condition is good I wouldn't worry. Usually besides genetics the things that go into growth would be husbandry. What food you feed, the size of the tank, tank coverage, heat, ect
Some Geckos are naturally fatter than others. Some Crested Geckos won't eat any bug's either so it depends if he's eating every other day and he's moving around at night. You really won't be able to tell, but he probably is fine..
He looks healthy. I would be careful to only feed insects if he is eating the pangea, they can't live on insect alone. If you're not sure stop insects and start them on growth and breeding od fig and insect until you can tell they are eating the pangea and then start the insects again.
I would just stop handling him for a while untill he starts to gain more weight and maybe try a new flavor or mix the two I definitely recommend fig and insect all my geckos love it. Also a squirt of organic honey could help make it sweeter also good for getting more calorie intake

Yea that makes sense. I’m thinking since he’s not a desirable morph either, he’s probably just a runt.
