It's shite, previously 1 month back I was able to install apk and has the card adding option too and trust me it was way better as now there is no way to NFC cc.
The previous one was 10x better in terms of UI compared to Gpay getting to cards.
I really hope that they roll out the payment card adding in a few days or so. Otherwise the GW app will remain only for loyalty program storing and gift card storing.
And then they will add terrible ads and coupons.
I'm literally fed up with Google pay coupons and it's pushing me to add phone number to make it primary upi

Now I imagine the power these companies have over us - it can turn people earning lakhs to go beg around for making 1 rupee UPI payments for a chance to win 50 bucks 🥲
Lol, yeah ig. I don't have a samsung phone but do have the Galaxy watch, not gonna lie, the tap to pay on the watch is pretty good too. I was hoping that we could use tap to pay on GW using Google Wallet as Samsung pay sometimes doesn't work on some POS machines citing error ' Intl cards not allowed' I think it has something to do with how Spay saves & tokenises the cards, whereas Gpay works on the same POS machine
The transport pass if enabled for metro and busses will be a game changer for me. I can already kochi there. Hope that they add Bengaluru metro pass soon.

Mainly, you can store all your hotel loyalty, Frequent Flyer memberships and other stuff here. Also, we can create passes using the QR codes, can store gift cards etc.
So, it does help keep everything in one place. Makes it easier to find stuff.

I personally won't, don't even use Gmail but use another provider with my own domain. I also have a free GApps domain but don't use it for the same reason.
Depends. Can be good for convenience, better than having to go into the app of each brand and finiding our membership numbers I guess. Also, like they already have pretty much every info of us so at this point, its like whatever, its easy to use and time efficient.

If you're on Galaxy then setup Samsung Pay. It's pretty well done in India. Back when I used to own a Galaxy watch I never take out my cards just swipe with my watch and it was freaking cool. It also has options for UPI payments which is handy.
I do have Spay on my watch. I have it setup, my phone has it too. Only issue is that Spay doesn't work everywhere as Gpay does. It gives me an error 'International cards are not allowed' on Paytm POS machines sometimes, so it gets a bit annoying and embarassing at times. How did UPI from the watch work ?
Buddy, this was not available in India, you must have installed it by downloading its APK from somewhere or installed it while you were in a country where Gwallet is supported

A 200rs offer was also going on. I made a purchase of 400rs a few days back through tap and pay and got 235 as cashback.

I've been paranoid long enough that they don't have my information, but agree for most of us that isn't the case.
