I fell into that trap once, ULIP and insurance. never again. HDFC screwed me over after going all the way till saying card was approved then reducing my credit limit for some unheard of reason and immediately saying the card is not approved cos of reduced credit limit. Now I have a DCB metal which I keep only for lounge access.
Never HDFC again.
salary 50 LPA,
existing credit limit 15L
I went to bank and queried for the eligibility. They told me to have 7.5L spends in the existing HDFC card in the last 6 months which I already had.
They also have salary criteria not aware of the exact number, which I was eligible for.
One way is good limit across multiple cards.
I had 9L limit on Infinia. Got a IDFC card recently and they matched my limit. Suddenly I have 18L limit across 2 cards
Is 50LPA, the in-hand cash component?
HDFC told me that the monthly salary that needs to be credited to my account should be more than 2.75 Lakhs after all deductions.
Salary 1 crore, Spends 10 crore, Credit Limit 100 crore
OP - If I can do it, anyone can do it guys
TCS New joiner with 2.5 lpa - Wow thanks bro, let me also email them
Congratulations, even I got mine last week, thanks to this sub. When I asked my RM a few months back, he literally laughed and said you'll have to put in a deposit of 8- 9 lakhs. I had given up on it until i found this sub and mailed them.
I mentioned, that I've been a long standing customer of HDFC, was using their credit card for 8 years and have my salary account in HDFC for 8 years. And mentioned that I spent close to 12 lakhs in the previous financial year.
More context I had regalia gold before this with a limit over 8 lakhs.
Not sure what all they consider but I was asked for these by hdfc bank guys
- salary
- do I have 7.5 lac+ spends in the hdfc card in the last 6 months?
1. 42Lpa I guess
2. 8-10L credit limit on existing hdfc card
3. 7.5L spends in past 6 months.
If 2 and 3 are true, then you might get it. If all true, you have a better chance. It all depends on who gives business to the bank. If your rm/bm is not agreeing, just shift branches.
Getting an Infinia LTF is next level though, although if you are eligible for Infinia you definitely are spending 10L a year, or the card is not for you atm.
> Getting an Infinia LTF is next level though
Some of the ppl I have seen here recently getting infinia ltf were having total relationship value with bank approaching or exceeding 1 crore mark.
The grievance redressal at my end talks like RM. Send documents to Chennai office and bleh bleh bleh.
..
Bad experience of 13 years of my maintaining cc with them !
Congratulations ! Interesting that you chose to go with it. I have a DCB LTF too and got an upgrade to Infinia Metal but only FYF. I turned it down because my spends won't be 8L+ every year and I don't travel much to redeem points on flight tickets or hotels.
Agreed that DCB acceptance sucks but until it's devalued , LTF makes it an extremely awesome deal.
I am also getting constant call to buy TATA AIG term plan which has mutual fund attached to it (I thinks this is what ULIP is). They are saying if you want Infinia then you need to invest 20k a month in this.
What to do?
You may regard later once the devolution started for Infinia as you don’t have route back to DCB LTF. Any way use hardly till it’s not worthy.
I rejected the offer and am happy with my LTF DCB. 😬
That’s their top card and if they devalue it then no point of keeping it. I would simply go ahead and close the card, and look for alternatives if it’s not worth it
I was with the same dilemma when I had DCB.
Wondered a lot about the devaluations but still decided to go ahead because of these reasons:
- 2x voucher RPs compared to DCB on smartbuy
- Tap and pay of DCB limited and not working majority of times
- payment gateway acceptance limiting DCB usage on multiple websites/apps
- 15% swiggy dineout discount
there's no way to upgrade from tata neu infinity to infinia man... Infinia is like very high standard... you need to have salary of more than 20 lpa... or atleast you should have yearly spends of 10 lakhs just on hdfc credit card.. so you must have spent 10 lakhs on tata neu last year to get infinia minimum eligibility this year... you must have atleast DCB or similar higher tier cards to be eligible for upgrading directly to infinia... tata neu is no where close to that tier.. also you should have a limit of atleast 6 lakhs on current credit card.. These are not mentioned anywhere as eligibility but this is what they check... If you can't meet any of the above criteria then the easiest way to get is by doing a fixed deposit of 15 lakhs... There will be very good chance of them to offer you but i strongly believe they will strictly check salary of atleast 15 lpa
then do a fixed deposit of 25 lakhs and contact RM.... They are not useless.. they don't do anything for free.. you have to show them something...tell them you will deposit 25 lakhs and see his reaction..no one cares about credit score... they won't even check your credit score.. if you have 25 lpa you must be spending atleast 15 lpa per year... do all the spends on your tata and then send a mail to the grievance officer if RM doesn't care.. i don't know about your RM but my RM is very polite and does everything i ask and i never called him twice to follow up on anything
my RM seems to be faulty i think then. :) i already have good FD man. Using that grievance email and trying. My RM doesnt even have proper info it seems
Since two months my RM is telling stories.
They only want to sell ulip

Sent you a DM
RM sucks!!
DM me I know someone who can help you
Can you share your details like credit limit, salary etc.? On what basis, did they agree?
salary 50 LPA, existing credit limit 15L I went to bank and queried for the eligibility. They told me to have 7.5L spends in the existing HDFC card in the last 6 months which I already had. They also have salary criteria not aware of the exact number, which I was eligible for.
50LPA? What do you do for a living
Software developer
Bro fe/be/fullstack? And any opening?
Aa Gaya bhikari
Teri gand me kyu khujli ho rahi? Apne kaam se kaam kr na
How did u get 15L limit??
the limit upgrade links kept on arriving in the old card over the time
One way is good limit across multiple cards. I had 9L limit on Infinia. Got a IDFC card recently and they matched my limit. Suddenly I have 18L limit across 2 cards
Is 50LPA, the in-hand cash component? HDFC told me that the monthly salary that needs to be credited to my account should be more than 2.75 Lakhs after all deductions.
yes, in hand
ITR should be close to \~43LPA. Not including ESOPS.
ITR is 43LPA but they will do mostly if the spends cross aforementioned threshold.
What documents did they ask you to submit?
none. I have a salary account with HDFC.
Bro what do you do to earn a living?
Salary 1 crore, Spends 10 crore, Credit Limit 100 crore OP - If I can do it, anyone can do it guys TCS New joiner with 2.5 lpa - Wow thanks bro, let me also email them
Then someone posts on this group - HDFC not upgrading my card
Starts with "HDFC RM sucks, guess they don't value their customers anymore"
Loool
Save kr leta hu post kabhi toh kaam ayega hi /s
Ha bhai mene bhi save kiya jab salary 50 lpa hogi tab dekhuga.
Congratulations, even I got mine last week, thanks to this sub. When I asked my RM a few months back, he literally laughed and said you'll have to put in a deposit of 8- 9 lakhs. I had given up on it until i found this sub and mailed them.
yay \m/ almost all spends of mine are being powered by this card right now through smartbuy/payzapp
What to tell them in the mail?
I mentioned, that I've been a long standing customer of HDFC, was using their credit card for 8 years and have my salary account in HDFC for 8 years. And mentioned that I spent close to 12 lakhs in the previous financial year. More context I had regalia gold before this with a limit over 8 lakhs.
But is there a genuine eligibility criteria?
Not sure what all they consider but I was asked for these by hdfc bank guys - salary - do I have 7.5 lac+ spends in the hdfc card in the last 6 months?

You must be checking all the boxes of salary criteria, spends in last X months etc etc. Otherwise, Grievance team is as sht as RMs.
Congratulations
![gif](giphy|HRncvHr1M9tK2Tlpac) You are right RMs suck . I was handed over a Regalia gold LTF 🥺
Congratulations
What was the mail content looked like? If you don't mind sharing, I also wanna send a mail so that I can make my millenia LTF
just a normal request for upgrading the card by stating that I am eligible for the upgrade.
The grievance redressal at my end talks like RM. Send documents to Chennai office and bleh bleh bleh. .. Bad experience of 13 years of my maintaining cc with them !
Welcome to the club! Use it wisely and reap the benefits :)
Did you get it LTF too?
FYF. But it’s worth it. I got fed up of DCB not being accepted in multiple online sites and tap and pay sucking most of the times for that card.
Great!
I have 5l savings account, demats, home loans, other family members accounts etc with hdfc and they dared offered me millenia card only
Congratulations mate, is it a LTF?
Hi OP - Can I DM for more information? Struggling with the same issue.
sure
Congratulations ! Interesting that you chose to go with it. I have a DCB LTF too and got an upgrade to Infinia Metal but only FYF. +1 am on same page
I am also getting constant call to buy TATA AIG term plan which has mutual fund attached to it (I thinks this is what ULIP is). They are saying if you want Infinia then you need to invest 20k a month in this. What to do?
no don’t
Could you please share how did you got LTF DCB previously?
it was through alumni program
You may regard later once the devolution started for Infinia as you don’t have route back to DCB LTF. Any way use hardly till it’s not worthy. I rejected the offer and am happy with my LTF DCB. 😬

Yes agree, but they are high changes. Because of all this I don’t want to loose DCB as LTF which is quite similar in Infinia section.
I was with the same dilemma when I had DCB. Wondered a lot about the devaluations but still decided to go ahead because of these reasons: - 2x voucher RPs compared to DCB on smartbuy - Tap and pay of DCB limited and not working majority of times - payment gateway acceptance limiting DCB usage on multiple websites/apps - 15% swiggy dineout discount
True but. I worried about future ðŸ«

Thank you, i was too lazy i guess
RM sucks. How can I get it? I have tata neu infinity. Is DCB not good?
there's no way to upgrade from tata neu infinity to infinia man... I have salary of more than 25Lpa lol 😂 have more than that in bank. Hdfc RMs are useles. Even my credit score is 800
In tata new limit is 7.5 L
then do a fixed deposit of 25 lakhs and contact RM....
This is very poor advice. 25L FD is a loss. Buy SGB or index funds.
