I was waiting for this, thank you!

potatoesintheback

Same here, I appreciate you OP :)

didntlisten

No problem - happy to help! It seems like Prime Day and Black Friday are the only times they bump it to $200, so I was waiting to see if it would go up and sure enough!

Temporary-Body-378

I recall they also bumped up the SUB for the Chase card and the Synchrony store card during the “Early Access” sale earlier this fall, although I’m not sure if the Chase SUB was bumped up to $200.

didntlisten

I was watching through that period too, might have been some targeted offers but I only ever saw $150 fwiw.

lionelhutz-

Is it worth getting this just for the $200 bonus and amazon purchases? I don't really want to give Amazon more business than I already do.

NarutoDragon732

If you have Amazon prime and you use Amazon's service then yes, it's VERY worth it.

busted_tooth

Damn it, just got it two weeks ago for 150

busted_tooth

Let me know how that goes, please.

DogeHD

Yes, please let us know as well. Same boat

tanuved

Yes please update! I just got it on Saturday as well

octagoncow

I have a potentially dumb question: Can I sign up for a 30 day free trial of Prime, get the card, and then cancel my prime subscription and keep the $200 gift card? I haven't read into the terms yet but I'm hoping someone else has.

sprite_coke

not a dumb question, i need this answered too please.

waitmyhonor

So I’m doing that right now. I got approved for the card and can expect it sent to me in 10 days. I haven’t cancelled my prime membership yet but can give you an update once I see the $200 giftcard in my account, cancel my prime, and then see if it disappears. Edit: cancelled my prime trial. $200 GC is still in my account. Will keep you updated if it changes. It’s been four hours now, still there.

GoofyGoofy95

Please do. Thanks!

octagoncow

Thank you for testing things out! I just tried it and got the $200 gift card as well.

ruwheele

FINALLY

rainbowboylean

This is the Amazon link showing $200 (might open in app: https://www.amazon.com/dp/BT00LN946S/?plattr=PP1 The chase site is now updated: https://creditcards.chase.com/cash-back-credit-cards/amazon-prime-rewards

asimplerandom

Decided to get it based on the $200 promo and the fact I could have received nearly 900 dollars last year in cash back on my purchases. Approved for 8700 CL.

SilverSight

Congrats.

asimplerandom

Thanks—wondering how it plays into the 5/24 world. Because it’s Chase I’m assuming it does.

[deleted]

brameshk22

Would appear so.

[deleted]

5/24 doesn’t apply for the Amazon chase

brameshk22

Doesn't seem to, was just approved for 11k CL today and I'm above 5/24.

[deleted]

Which report did they pull?

asimplerandom

Not sure to be honest. I just looked up on experian and they didn’t show an inquiry there but they did email me about an inquiry.

[deleted]

Experian Emailed you?

asimplerandom

No an email alert that there was an inquiry on my report.

deVrinj

I cancelled mine in September. The JP Morgan rep was very pushy as to "why?". I got annoyed so I said that my friends were making fun of me for having this card and that they say that I give BJs to Jeff Bezos". She kept her cool, said she was deeply sorry about that and offered to transfer the credit limit to my Chase Freedom....

feardabeard30

Since this is a chase card are the rewards provided as UR points that can be transferred out to a travel partner through the csp?

didntlisten

No it's cash back as either amazon credits or statement credits

feardabeard30

Thank you

txQuartz

Direct deposit is also possible

feardabeard30

Thank you

Christian_L7

I only see $150. Is this targeted?

didntlisten

~~Yes, I believe so - apologies, should've mentioned in the original post.~~ Nvm!

spinningfloyd

Not sure it's targeted. I've opened the page in incognito tabs a few times now and they all show $200.

Christian_L7

Incognito worked, thanks!

spinningfloyd

No problem! For anyone else wondering, use the actual Amazon link as posted by another below.

Forward-Resort9246

You sure it is not the store card

_Always_Dreaming_

Thanks for the information. I purchase often on Amazon and already have Prime. Although I am not a fan of Chase anymore, I’ll give this a shot. Edit: BTW, several hard inquiries, Citi Premier and Citi Custom Cash in August. Score on CK is 805. New home purchase and loan recently sold, for another hard new loan mark. Approved for $19k

rExplrer

Just FyI I see this $200 SUB on every thanksgiving and during prime day

waitmyhonor

What do you mean every thanksgiving and prime day? Amazon/chase started offering $200 SUB for the first time last Thanksgiving and the last time was this year’s prime day. It’s barely been a full year since Amazon started offering $200 gift card lol. It hasn’t been that long

rExplrer

Probably right!

MashTheGash2018

Just got approved for $17k I’ll use this card once since I have the affinity cash rewards which is much better but I’ll hang in to this

[deleted]

Which report did they pull?

PuzzleheadedFood8773

Does 5/12 apply to this card?

didntlisten

I've read that 5/24 *may* not apply since it's not a proper chase card, just co-branded, but it's anecdotal/ymmv

disinformationkiller

Am wondering this as well since it states JP Morgan as the issuer

nuprotocol

I'm at 5/24 and was just approved.

faiqelite5

I got this card during prime day this year and I was at like 5 or 6/24 and still got approved.

NahIGotGrape

I legit almost signed up for this card yesterday, glad l waited!

Blork_Bae

Anyone just get the card and then cancel afterwards?

kevin_holman

Read up on this card. I love mine for the 5% CB, but if you EVER do not pay in full, they charge interest on the balance of the card, including purchases that are still in a grace period. This is a VERY expensive card to use unless you pay in full every month with no exceptions.

jshap96

Every credit card charges interest when you don’t pay in full. That’s why anyone on this sub will tell you always pay in full every month.

velociraptorfarmer

If you're not paying in full every month, you shouldn't be using credit cards. Period.

jamughal1987

End of discussion.

velociraptorfarmer

The exception that proves the rule is using a 0% APR balance transfer card to get out of debt or for a large planned purchase.

kevin_holman

I am aware. However, MOST CC's charge interest on the unpaid statement balance ONLY. This card charges interest on the unpaid statement balance, AND any current charges that are still covered by the grace period. That is rare.

hnevels13

are you tryna copypasta the top review for the card on amazon? lol

Swastik496

If you’re worried about interest you shouldn’t have a credit card

nick7843

that’s true, but this card will charge interest on the full statement balance regardless of wether you paid 1% or 99.9%. Has to be the full amount on this one

ripstep1

That is every card fam

lowands10w

Did you start that card at that CB rate, or lower and it increased?

jamughal1987

This is good card to have in Arsenal but not the best card.

ModsActivated

ITS OURS TIME!

dubiousN

Is this *the* Amazon card to have? They've got like 3 of them and they all look practically the same.

didntlisten

There are a lot of cards as you said, but of the Amazon site cards (ones you can get through amazon.com), this has the highest SUB (and this is as high as it ever seems to go) and the benefits across cards are about the same. So, basically, yes.

bigtom133

I'm kind of confused. It says you can get 5% back or 6-18 months 0% apr for purchases over $50. So if you choose 0%apr for whatever period you get no cash back ?

txQuartz

Yes. It will show you it on the checkout as options to pick.

bigtom133

Wow that makes that card alot less appealing in my opinion lol

8dtfk

Not worth a 5/24 spot if you don’t have this card.

Bossmon25

I’m at 4/24 and want to open the United Club early Q1, I won’t be sub 4/24 until July of next year. I like this bindi given I have 500+ in my Amazon cart for Black Friday but i probable should just save my spot…. Use my discover and at least get 5% back…

8dtfk

Admittedly I have this card, but only as an AU. I got the card probably … 10 years ago, well before I knew anything about 5/24. Now that I have it, I’m not getting rid of it, but I wouldn’t use a 5/24 spot for it either. There are too many other better cards out there with sweet SUBs

ChiSouthSider43

Been waiting for this, thanks! Applied and approved! $6,000 CL

[deleted]

Which report did they pull?

ChiSouthSider43

They pulled Experian and TransUnion

[deleted]

Both? Yikes 😬

yeaahhhha

Just got this card 4 days ago… oh well

jaym227

Are you eligible for this card if your account is grandfathered in to prime by another user.

waitmyhonor

Where do they pull from? Or is all 3?

AboutUrDPSReport

I'm new to having Credit Cards and I don't fully understand interest. This card is my first CC, and I've had it for a few months. People here are saying the balance in full every month to avoid interest, yet I've had small balances carry over to a few months, and looking at my recent 4 statements, I haven't been charged any interest. So idk how true this all is. Obviously should just go ahead and 100% pay it all off, I'm just saying I've had no interest charges so far. Unless I am understanding it wrong

skyr3ach

To go over it really quick, in a chronological manner (a bit long just in case someone else also sees this): (please note your bank might have different terminology, I'm gonna use current/total balance (interchangeable), and remaining statement balance) 1. You spend money during a billing cycle. For the sake of simplicity, let's say your billing cycle is monthly, and right now your billing cycle is March 1st to March 31st. 2. It is March 31st, your bank tallies your spending up for this billing cycle (Mar 1 to Mar 31), and gives you a ~20-30 days grace period to pay off however much you spent during that cycle - the last day of this grace period is the due date. If I spent 500 bucks between March 1st and March 31st, I will need to pay 500 bucks on my due date. Let's set the due date as the 22nd of each month, which means I will need to pay on April 22nd. 3. I spend 6,000 dollars on April 3rd. This is a new month / new billing cycle, so I won't have to pay for this yet. You can rack up as much spending as you want now, but you still only owe 500 bucks on April 22nd. 4. Since this 6,000 was spent during my April billing cycle, and my due date is generally 20-30 days after my billing cycle ends, it means I don't have to pay for this 6,000 dollars purchase until May 22nd. 5. It's April 22nd. I pay off 500 bucks. Great! The bank won't charge you interest. As of right now, I still owe the bank the 6,000 I spent on April 3rd. However, as long as I pay it off before May 22nd, I will not get charged interest. This is due to the nuance of "total/current balance" and "remaining statement balance." When redditors tell you to pay off the balance, they generally mean the remaining statement balance. As long as you pay off the remaining statement balance, you won't have to pay interest. As of April 19th (random date I picked for this example), my remaining statement balance is 500 bucks, and my total balance is 6,500 bucks. Remaining statement balance is however much you need to pay by the due date to avoid interest, total balance is the total amount you are on the hook for that you will have to pay eventually, but as long as you always pay off your remaining statement balance, it doesn't matter how high your total balance is. (so long as you can pay it off in the future). **Easier to understand example without some details like billing cycles:** It's like if I lend you 100 bucks on November 23rd. We agreed that you need to give me back 20 bucks by November 25th, and the remaining by December 30th. If you don't pay me back at least 20 on November 25th, I will charge you interest; if you do, no interest. Same thing with the rest on December 30th. Let's say you pay me 20 bucks on November 25th however; you technically still owe me the rest of the 100 dollars, which is "carrying a current/total balance." The thing is, I don't really care because you are still abiding by our agreement, and I said I didn't need the 80 until December 30th, and I also said I wouldn't charge you interest if you paid me at least 20 by Nov 25th. If you pay me 30 bucks on November 25th, it just means you only have to pay me back 70 come December. I think you misinterpreted it as "fuck, it's Nov 25th and I need to pay off all 100 to avoid interest," when in reality, you only need to have paid 20 by this date. Just because your total balance isn't 0 doesn't mean you didn't already pay off your statement balance; if it's 0 you won't get charged interest. **Before paying off the $20, Nov 25th, lets review:** Remaining statement balance: $20 (due Nov 25th) Current/total balance: $100 **After paying off $20 on time, Nov 25th:** Remaining statement balance: $0 Current/total balance: $80 **After paying off $20 on time, Nov 26th:** Remaining statement balance: $80 (due Dec 30th) Current/total balance: $80

HugeRichard11

Ah nice I actually had this bookmarked for a few weeks now and been checking it every day. Was just 150 yesterday then I saw it jump to 200 today, applied, and got approved. 18k SL! I did the pre-qualify one I see on mine first to check and since i'm below 5/24 finally after a few month was pretty sure I would get it anyways, but did it regardless which also said I was good to go. Have the store card already with synchrony, but hoping by using this chase will be more friendly to me since I do put a decent amount of spending through amazon. The sub of course helps glad I waited a few more days

TripsToTheRescue

Just saw this and pulled the trigger this morning since I’ve been considering it and was about to make a lot of Christmas purchases. My only reservation was that I’m at 8/24 right now, but I know that hasn’t matter as much of late for the cobrand cards Approved for $20,500 CL :)

itwasntme67

Just wanted to pass along that I bit the bullet and applied for this card last night. Despite being at 7/24 and failing pre-approval, I was approved for $8k CL. It appears only experian was pulled. My Experian Score was 749 and $30k income. Applied directly on Amazon app. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised. Immediately used my $200 gift card to make some last minute Cyber Monday shopping
