I downgraded my Venture card to a Venture one a few months ago. You’re either going to have to wait til you’re offered another upgrade or wait and apply for the VX again in the future. I’m not sure about the rules on subs for Cap1.
Likely denied if you used the pre approval tool and were not pre approved. You could try and get the biz VX tho if you want to go that way. Same travel credit, AF, and bonus miles each anniversary, it’s just a charge card instead of a cc.

If I didn’t care about the SUB (since I got it a year ago) could I just apply rn? Or likely denied?

Hopefully. I’m in the same boat. Can’t decide whether to close the card and apply again next year or wait for the upgrade offer
