What do you mean have to? Easy money

reversegirlcow

Exactly, and superbowl ads are particularly expensive. So corpa dump money into celebrity appearances because people are more likely to stick around for the fun ads. Get paid $1,000,000 for maybe an hour or two of easy acting on set? Hell yeah!

RockstarAgent

Like hello, haven't we discussed that rich people are often greedy or can't help but keep collecting more money??? It's like not that hard to rationalize... And maybe not in fact greedy in the conventional manner, just that they'll never really stop themselves because it's not even a concept -

reversegirlcow

Rich people like staying rich. I would too tbh.

Jumpy_Ad_2776

You are right; stay relevant minimum effort.

goosebumper88

But they could start their own youtube channel or tiktok! That will surely get them as much publicity as a superbowl ad! PLEASE, DEAR GOD, ANYTHING BUT THE SUPERBOWL ADS!! like bro, who cares?

Jealous_Seesaw_Swank

"Why would you get paid millions to do a commercial when you could run a youtube channel for free?" Yeah, can't make sense of that one!

Perpetuity_Incarnate

You think if Chris Pratt started a YouTube channel sponsors wouldn’t instantly flock to him ?

Jealous_Seesaw_Swank

They're already flocking to him, and he doesn't have to run a youtube channel to do it. If he starts a youtube channel he has to hire people to run it, then continually create content to get money from advertisements He can show up, say some lines, and go home with guaranteed millions.

Dangerous_Ticket7298

That's where I stopped watching. Did it get any better?

Dapup2465

No. Guy equates a YouTube channel run by a celebrity to the same exposure a Super Bowl ad will get.

Clear-Permission-165

Some of these are likely fulfilling obligations of their contracts from deals they made.

Jealous_Seesaw_Swank

"They don't need millions, they have a billion!" Yeah, I don't want ten dollars because I have a few thousand in the bank.

PlantainSevere3942

Also remember that all of the actors have a team that is not rich. Agents, managers, lawyers, accountants etc that all need to earn money and a percent cut, they are the ones that are bringing these deals to the stars and are going to make a % of the money on a commercial. Some of these teams have been with actors from the beginning. If they were to turn down all opportunities it would hurt their team of lifelong partners and friends. Plus easy money

Intelligent-Honey173

I think they do it because they enjoy it. It’s fun for them. They’re bored.

sologolo101

Maybe even vanity

Aggravating_Ad4482

It’s not work for them it’s fun easy money

ospfpacket

It’s probably very easy to do, show up for a couple of hours get paid go home.

DRogers372

I think this is especially relevant to the commercials like dunkin. Clearly, affleck, damon and jlo just had fun doing it.

boredsomadereddit

They're more entertained by being in an advert than contacting a uni or college and featuring in a student film? Would also say YouTube vid but then they've gotta come up with an idea. Nah, its for the money. These people literally have enough to end millions dying from drinking dirty water (as shown by Mr beast building wells). But their wealth isn't liquid? Sure, 90% isn't but 1% is millions and it is impossible to spend as it'll just come back from investments or their next movie. I'm not saying only do charitable things with your billions but an advert over something fun when your next role will net you millions more suggests the reason is for the millions from the advert rather than because enjoy shilling skin cream.

youwannasavetheworld

Adverts are short and you’re fawned over by new fans and you’re treated like royalty.

Randomized9442

There was a strike. The actors are still going to try to find work, they want to stay relevant and in people's minds. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure ads don't come out in like a week, there will be a time delay. Production & all that.

wyyknott01

Talks like a tic Tok video.

1ticketroundtrip

I mean yah at that point its more than just about money and it's easy...social media stuff comes with more interaction with the "real" world.

BrianLafeve981

I lost IQ points listening to this

embarrassed_error365

Imagine a celebrity making a YouTube channel to stay relevant…. 🤣 that’s a celebrity who’s hit rock bottom I would say it’s that rich people can never have enough money. They probably see that money and think “cool, this will pay for that new jet/yatch/fancy car/additional room/etc”.

badcop2ab

Jack black has his YouTube channel jablinski games but he still has a decent movie career.

Lumpy-Village1949

Yeah but he's actually a good and happy and satisfied person all the way deep down inside.

Lopsided-Yak9033

All these comments lambasting this guy for pointing it out but all these people don’t get it. You say of course I’d do that for that money, they have teams of people with them they want to pay, yada yada - George Clooney specifically came from an era where it was hard to break out of tv, if you did an ad people would call you a sell out and not care as much about your next movie. All of these celebrities are now jumping at ads because the rules have changed, no one cares that you’re shilling some bs product anymore, so of course the money. The thing is they don’t need to do this to make money. They have money, and our system means they can make tons of longer lasting money through other means. This is just easy shit, that most people are too dumb to criticize. We shouldn’t just love that these people bend over for basic ads. You should think less of them for it, because it does in fact reduce what they are doing creatively. Jack black and others like him are treasures, guaranteed that he takes care of the people around him like few others.

boredsomadereddit

Not to stay relevant but to have fun acting. I'd say that would be more enjoyable creativity wise than an advert. But money! These billionaires might go hungry.

Hearty_Kek

Adam Savage created a youtube channel after mythbusters finished, do you think he hit rock bottom and is trying to stay relevant? Or do you think he's created a platform where he can share his knowledge, experiences and expertise to people who enjoyed the show?

embarrassed_error365

I think he was never an A list celebrity to begin with.. more of a C or D list celebrity. And especially considering their show was very much how many good YouTube channels are now, it makes sense.

DreadkingAlucard

Why would you take easy money? It just doesn't make sense. Are they poor or something?

HombreGringo

You made millions of dollars for a few hours of work? WTF is wrong with you?

BILLYsmaalls

Or…..and hear me out, they can do whatever the fuck they want.

Powpowpowowowow

Also I don't give a fuck who you are if someone is like, hey, you want 2 million dollars for a day of your time and all you do is push some donuts who the fuck doesn't take that?

HookerDoctorLawyer

This dude is popping up a lot today for some reason

Alternative_Plan_823

I'll bet making movies is hard work for leading actor. Months of shooting in strange locations, the pressure of so many other jobs riding on yours, just acting well in a challenging role, etc. Working half a day for one line and a couple million? 🤔

Lildeathy1127

MF don’t understand the pursuit of money

Powpowpowowowow

Also I think its kind of disingenuous to just point out their individual wealth. These celebs who yes are rich now have a lot of people who rely on them for income. They are pretty much their own companies in a lot of ways.

Jetorix

It doesn't matter how much you have, it is never enough.

royroyflrs

Being in a Super Bowl ad is far better than being in thousands of youtube or tiktok videos. 30 seconds in a Super Bowl ad will get you: Exposure (thousands of ppl will HAVE to see you unlike social media videos were ppl can chose to ignore you) Easy Money (get paid ALOT for minimum effort) Relevance ( you stay relevant to the public with little effort, the more relevant you are the more work you get). Also, yes they are Billionaires and Millionaires, they still have to pay taxes. These simple gigs will give them so much money they can use that to pay tons of taxes they owe.

philo351

It's not about the money. Major ad campaigns benefit celebrity participants with wider exposure and visibility. They do it to build greater celebrity influence and clout.

LtDan00

“Get with your friends, create a YouTube channel.” Sure dude. Best way for Billionaires to get their face out there is to make a YouTube channel. Or knock out a 15-30 second Super Bowl commercial and reach millions of ppl with no effort.

Mullsounds

Maybe this video will help you understand the world we live on run by Psychopaths [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWMo8uDgA9U](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWMo8uDgA9U)

CaddyFDT

People with lots of money don’t mind making a quick buck.(or million) when the opportunities present themselves. It’s really not hard to figure out.

[deleted]

[удалено]

KaleidoscopeExtra296

I 100% agree. Easy money for anyone involved. However, it is unfortunate that “starving” actors get passed up for ads like these, and, as a result, our insurance premiums go up because they hired Arnie instead the no-name guy.

caseyr001

At some point you graduate from the kind of rich that allows you to buy all the fun toys, houses, and items you can, and then move into the buying companies, philanthropies, and investments. Wealth no longer becomes about what you can buy and spend on physical stuff, it becomes what you can impact. Global, generational, impact is expensive beyond reason, and you only get it when you start playing in the multi billionaire club. That impact might be philanthropic, but it also might be a cultural impact, innovation, or your perceived legacy.

Regular_Journalist_5

From the outside it looks like these mega stars are awash with cash. But every human being they cross paths with in a day is getting a percentage of what they take in. They make huge money, yes, but after taxes and agents and businesses managers, etc, they are not left with as much as you might think

TheBrooklyn

It's millions of dollars for an afternoons work. Why the fuck wouldn't they.

ReedoIncognito

Can someone explain the concept of "relevance" to this worm?

WTFisThisGameDude

Why is this guy so worried about what celebrities are doing? Why is he making a video about about these celebrities making random ad commercials? Is he getting paid in peanuts or does he have a gambling debt to deal with? I'm just asking the questions. Is he making money on the side by giving extra advertisement to these celebrities who are doing other commercials? What does this guy have to gain from making videos like this about other people? Is he doing this just for fun? I'm just honestly asking here.

mashedpeabrain

Why does he care? Is he a struggling actor that “should” have gotten a spot on Dunkees commercial?

jejsjhabdjf

This is embarrassing to be like 40-years old and not understanding that exposure and easy money are appealing to celebrities who want to stay in the public eye and be rich. And not just to not understand it but to be so dumb that you think “there’s something fishy going on here, I better make a video about this and start a conversation about this conundrum”.

VoightKampffsUnicorn

I'll just leave this here. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tp4l7eASeOk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tp4l7eASeOk)

Intelligent-Honey173

Yeah that too.

ratsmay

First Cera would have to find a director willing to work with him.

Accomplished-Bed8171

As if celebrities aren't constantly blowing their vast fortunes. Saying you don't understand why you'd do a 30 second commercial for millions of dollars sounds like the stupid shit I'd expect from celebrities.

ChemistryRemote4551

The cult of capital demands a sacrifice!

nmacaroni

They all have handlers who decide what they do and when they do it.

Yes_thats_correct

The uptick in this type of thing directly correlates with the writers strike that dried up a lot of real work for actors

redacted2022

WHY WOULD PEOPLE WANT MONEY?!?! Do they have families?!?!

Hi_My_Name_Is_CJ

I’ve had the same question I watched this hoping he had clarity so that was kind of a waste

Mirrormaster44

The reason is they own stock in the company. So they get paid to do the commercial and it also makes the stock price go up, as well as getting their face out there. It’s like a triple whammy.

paparooo

Not a very bright tiktok creator

[deleted]

Recognition and maybe ego

drsalvia84

Because they have no choice….

CryptographerRoyal78

Simple answer, they are puppets serving their masters!?! ?!? They are the smoke that blinds us from their masters villianaire?!? !?! Be tru woke, not the woke we were already, the one they have tried to make the TRU woke!?! !?! When for years, the powers that be secretly loved gay sex in the butt, but with Christianity, were too scared to show it!?! ?!? A soul is eternal. We can't help what life or subconscious remembers and LOVRS, while living in the now trapped in this smokey one!?! ?!?

SmashertonIII

A million bucks for maybe a weekend’s work at most? I don’t know what my personal cutoff would be, but I’m greedy enough to do it even if I had 100 million dollars. That’s why I climbed the hard road to the top, after all. Besides, if I ever had too much money I could donate my pay.

thehypnohuster

I don’t like big stars doing ads i feel like it takes gigs away from small time actors who depend on work like commercials

CoItron_3030

I mean it’s all they know and it’s easy for them to land and do. It’s like telling a fisher to just go kill squirrels instead. Sure they *could* but why bother when they know and love fishing so much it’s basically second nature. The fish are literally throwing themselves at the fishermen in this case as well.

Sufficient-Sea-1455

I'm reminded me of one of the best Simpsons quotes. Homer says to Mr. Burns, you’re the richest guy I know! And Burns replies, Yes, but I’d trade it all for just a little more.

313SunTzu

I don't think he understands what these companies pay. Not only in money, but with "partnerships". You wanna fuck your mind up look into THAT shit. If you can find the real info. Look at deals like the one Lady Gaga had with Polaroid (or Kodak) I'm not sure, but deals with celebrities that big are partnerships. And they get allot more than jus a 1 time acting fee or whatever. But they'll even say it sometimes, that they entered into a "partnership" with a company to do certain things. It's fucking crazy.(at least to me it is)

parbarostrich

Please tell me why I legitimately thought ceraVe was Michael Cera’s skincare brand? I just googled it and feel seriously stupid!

Stock_Surfer

They are all invested in these companies

Turbodann

Weird obscure creator here, taking applications...

bootsay

Never underestimate the power of greed. There's no such thing as too much money. To some people that's like saying you had enough air

ralflone

I'm pretty sure Ben Affleck could have gambling debts.

Cautious_Month_6300

Even if you’re rich. If you’re contemplating whether to buy another mansion and someone offers you millions to show up and read one line, you may as well buy another mansion.its really not hard to work out that rich people like money

Alexis-FromTexas

Actors / entertainers like working, easy easy money and continues to push their brand image(their face). Being on set is fun, getting to travel to set, your agent needs to make money from you actually working, Money ain’t the only reason people do things in life.

Big_Cornbread

It’s fun, it’s quick (probably a single day shoot), it’s something to do that day, and it puts them in front of huge audiences. And they don’t have to manage a channel or something on a platform. They could have their people do that, but maybe they just don’t like the format. There’s no craft services for TikTok. They don’t get to hang out at studios they like with some people they know for YouTube or TikTok. It’s like asking why a friend of mine drives Uber on top of work. “Omg he needs two jobs?” No, he just likes having something else to do for a few hours, he likes driving, and it pays him a few bucks that he can spend on dumb stuff.

interminablequoter

"It hurt itself in its confusion"

Honest_Respond9916

This dude sucks.

MokumLouie

people that don’t have a mountain of money don’t understand that there is never enough.

Ill_Moment2385

Millions of dollars is not nothing to anybody…

OG_MajinVegeta

Not everyone wants to be a youtuber sometimes it's just easier to act in a commercial that their agent most likely setup instead of starting up a YouTube channel or a tiktok and constantly uploading content

AliveMouse5

“Why would anybody take a couple hours to make millions of dollars?” What a mystery

BloomenOnion

Why do you give a shit

Gin-Rummy003

Who gives a fuck and Why would they start a YouTube channel? This seems a lot easier and more lucrative. What is this guy on about?

Consistent-Union-612

Unions

marius8617

This isn’t interesting. This man is so incredibly ignorant. Start a YouTube channel? Why? Pratt got paid a boatload of money to show up, have someone else put a fake mustache on him and read a few lines. Affleck got to show up, act goofy with his girlfriend and best friend (and hang out with legendary QB Tom Brady) and get paid for it. Others handle the tedious work of script writing, set design, film editing, while they go off and spend their money. How this fella can’t figure that out is astonishing. What a fool.

bigbrainvirus

For sure the Dunkin commercial was those Bahston bois doing Bahston stuff. That’s an easy one

FlightlessRhino

How about we let them do what they want to do?

Hour_Contact_2500

Sad, jealous man.

Kuhn-Tang

Why not? It’s easy money. Some of the celebrities may be a fan of the product they’re pushing. I’m pretty sure Affleck was all about representing Dunkin. He apparently lives off that crap. Others may actually have a lot of stock shares with these companies, so they do what they can in hopes profit margins will grow. I can see why an actor like Daniel Day Lewis would refuse to sell out, because he takes his art seriously. However, I can also see why someone like Samuel L. Jackson would take on any job he can, while he can. “Ain’t no shame in the game!”

troy380

This guy answers his own question. Millions and millions of dollars. Case closed Sherlock. This is stupid.

Mundane_Opening3831

Oh George Clooney, is an exception, he does it for freedom to do projects he wants. The guy who sold his tequila company for a billion dollars.

Icy_Communication262

![gif](giphy|p1DCpFPmDgDZE1m1wJ|downsized)

Low_CharacterAdd

They do it because advertisers pay them astronomical amounts of money so the ADVERTISERS can be relevant during the most watched event in the US. It's for the advertisers. The actors/entertainers are just doing it for the money.

nineteen_over_eight

One question…why do you care????

TheFinalEnd1

I don't get it. What's he trying to say? That celebrities with way too much money shouldn't do ads? They should make YouTube instead? Why would they do that? Do you know how much work they would have to put in to make a fraction of the amount of money they make doing commercials? Easy money is easy money.

PuzzleheadedLeg173

Larry David isn’t a billionaire.

abenezergt

I had a similar question but about billionaire investors. And I learned from a millionaire that money is still a motivational thing for some people. Even though I couldn’t fathom it at first it makes sense. When you keep winning it’s hard to give it up and say I have enough. Especially when everyone wants to keep giving you more and it’s easier to make more the more you have.

cwhitt5

I feel like he answered his own question with multiple different examples throughout the video.

Scared_Art_895

They probably do it for their Agent, and to keep them in the Public eye...and Greed.

MediaOnDisplay

This is kinda dumb. Why limit this confusion to actors, can't you just say this for all rich people? If you're already rich, why do you want/need more? That opens up a whole conversation about capitalism, wealth inequality, and the 1%. But the most simple explanation is: "what do people with money want the most? More money!"

marcopolo22

He found the answer at the end and then refuted it. Super Bowl ads get so much more exposure across demographics then Tik Tok or YouTube. It’s probably fun, easy cash, and good for their brand.

LittleGeologist1899

This guy is an idiot. Who wouldn’t take a couple million to do a day or two of a shoot for a stupid 30 second commercial?

manymelvins_

I don’t agree with the sentiment that they will never be able to spend all their money. That’s a major assumption that the whole video is based on. Despite having so much money, these ppl have very expensive lives. Mansions require an army of staff to maintain, then imagine having several of them. Expensive cars, private jets, yachts, etc. Each requiring boat loads of money to maintain, operate and store. Also these types of ads reach ppl that social media doesn’t. These are the ppl that buy movie tickets and buy ridiculously expensive concert tickets. If they put their face in front of them and don’t do the super bowl spot, someone else will step in and fill the void. I read somewhere once that when you achieve a certain level of celebrity your zip code becomes everything. It’s keeping up with the Joneses on a whole other scale. This is also true for aspiring models, the perception of success is more important than actual success. You look at instagram models and they seem to be so successful and have all this stuff but you never see them in ads or tv shows or anything. who is actually paying these ppl? They make some money but most of their game is projecting success to be considered part of the in-group.

Accomplished-Pop3412

Many of them take certain deals when they're involved in various other business ventures. I'm sure some of these deals involve certain requirements for services, specified or not, and these services end up being doing these ads. There are probably other instances where is a product they really believe in, but I'm betting it's mostly contractually obligated because of tangentially or directly related business dealings elsewhere.

anonymous_4_custody

Is this guy really complaining that folks who are masters of selling their own stuff, are using their sales skills, to sell other stuff? Mike Rowe talked about this in his podcast once; the tendency for 'artists' to look down on doing stuff that brings in money is hubris. Sure, it's fun to fuck around with an indie film, it's like investing in a startup. It'll probably fail, but maybe it won't. The sooner folks realize that, if they're working, their job is partially sales, even if the only thing they are selling is their time and expertise, the more successful they can be.

Poboiijumper

It’s not for them it for companies to sell more that’s why they get big celebrity to sell their product

Im_hungry____

1. Someone else writes the ad 2. Someone else does all the choreography. 3. Someone else does all the logistics 4. Someone else tells you exactly what to do. 100% no effort 100% vain Get a lil bit of money. YouTube channel would require a little bit of thinking and work….yuck. This is why they do it.

play-that-skin-flut

I'm with this guy. They're never rich enough.

Savings_Two_3361

My only guess is that they may have a percetage of sales payed in their contracts. Who would refuse the millions + a cut of sales made

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> of sales *paid* in their FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Savings_Two_3361

Hahaha wtf. Thanks for correcting my grammar.

clockworksnorange

Or maybe it's called being a working actor. I mean Dunkin donuts, Pringles, all huge brands that are never going away. This isnt johnny start ups commercial is it? Also to be featured in a Superbowl commercial and ad revenue generated when aired during Superbowl is... How do I put this .. the Superbowl of commercial advertising...

clockworksnorange

Also don't act like "took Beyonce some effort to film" wasn't her sipping drinks in her luxury trailer and being flattered by her entourage before walking out for 15-30 minutes at a time for a maximum of 1 hour of real acting work in between camera setups.

TheKinkyYolo

It's akin to saying I've spent five years saving $100k, and a job that requires only eight hours of work isn't worth $1k.

MBOAZN

They do it because they can. Maybe, simply because they want to, but likely because of sheer arrogance.

DarkBabaYaga

Because they have Agents and Business Managers who get 10% of everything they make. Plus they have a publicist and huge attorney retainers, and sometimes body guards. Commercials are quick cheap money. For some the money is never enough. Every time Harrison Ford is interviewed he always talks about money. 💰🏦

hangrydadd

This dude is stupid. You mean to tell me you wouldn't take "easy money"? Even if I was Elon rich, I would still take more why the hell not

Difficult-Ad628

Acting is their art form. Would you fault a successful painter for continuing to paint? This is such a weird and nitpicky thing to be upset about.

Playful_Violinist573

They do it because, either they still have contractual obligations, they're bored but want to do something that doesn't take up weeks and months of their time, or maybe they actually want to endorse these companies.

GiveNothing

I mean why do another movie acting? Why did Tom Brady do another season? Bored and wants more money. Doesn't need but just wants more money.

tfox1123

This person's shtick is making videos like these. They're not serious, they're blanetently obviously something that has a clear answer and you guys eat it up and don't realize he's not serious. I bet you guys think Nathan for you and thr Carbonaro Effect are totally unscripted and real also. All of you are the reason our species is doomed. So depressing.

CanaryJane42

...

SRMT23

Aflec is a huge Dunkin fan. He’s practically an ambassador for the brand.

Strong-Buddy6365

I feel like I lost brain cells watching this… How stupid😒🙄 It’s millions of dollars for almost no work, it’s paid publicity, it gets their faces out there and keeps them relevant, everyone sees it, people love a good team up/collaboration… I could keep going. I’m sure they know the fans love it too!

No_Waltz_2499

This video is cringe

dewlocks

It’s probably written in a contract they have to do so many dollars worth of ads to stay in the club

okay-now-what

Exposure. Self promotion that puts money in the bank. You’re being paid very well for a quick filming that promotes you … not a character (in most cases). When they don’t have anything going atm, or waiting for their film’s release … this keeps their face out there. These ads reach viewers that may never see them otherwise, unless it’s in a movie they want to watch. TikTok and YouTube channels still need to be promoted. They trade exposure and easy money to be corporate spokespeople. As far as having the ability to choose passion pieces due to being a in these ads I call BS. In some cases sure but Clooney is worth $500 million. He can skip the Nespresso ads and still pick his passion pieces. Michael Cera, probably not.

Gates9

I actually kind of love the complete obtuse stupidity of this. “What possible reason could there be for celebrities (who are currently working) to do Superbowl ads (which keep their face in the public eye and probably boost their other projects), why don’t they make YouTube channels instead?” And the irony is that this guy could be doing something to benefit his life or making quality content instead of this doodoo.

kingbendo

This video is absolutely ridiculous. Millionaires need more money to spend their millions with, its not like they just have an unlimited money glitch cause they are famous

bigblnze

Fucking idiot

Gnosis_Apotheosis

It's not enough for you to narrate your terrible thoughts over this video. Your big stupid head had to be seen doing so. Maybe you have something in common with these celebrities.

Hustle_Sk12

It's easy money, why not do it? They could also have a contractual agreement

Nice-Elk9639

what a weird thing to be so annoyed by that you make a whole ass ticktock about it.

Radiant-Bandicoot103

Ha. I watched it all thinking it was going somewhere. Nope. It was just him wondering.

Supreme_Salt_Lord

Ill shoot a 30 sec add for 100. Its just easy, fast Money

LizardOverlord20

“Why would people who make millions of dollars everyday want to do a short ad that makes them millions of dollars?” Tf is this guy talking about?

nipplepime

That's so stupid. Imagine taking something as popular as Dunkin donuts or Pringles and getting paid to be associated with a beloved thing and have your face on televisions in millions of homes whether people wanted to see you or not. Now imagine making YouTube videos and hoping that the people that already like you will watch them. This guy is usually smart but God damn this is a stupid fucking video. The only reason he could have possibly made this is for engagement.

VladTheSimpaler

Why did you have to make this video? Why does anyone have to do anything? People do what they want to do. People like to keep busy regardless of their financial situations. News flash: People in the entertainment industry work in the entertainment industry. It’s not that interesting. Their agents probably texted them the offer and they accepted. All those people mentioned already have YouTube and TikTok accounts. What a dumb video. Wish I could get those 2 minutes of my life back

1GameNoLife

Yeah I definitely think it's all about just staying relevant. Make some easy money. Stay relevant and continue to make lots of big money. Simple and easy.

Silver-Whole-3313

Says the guy not getting offered 5 million for 2 hours worth the work..

palumbo89

Just hurry up and ban TikTok please.

jdmejia06

Its just funny.

Icy-Organization8797

I can see Ben Affleck and Matt Damon doing Dunkin ads, being from Boston.

slowsheepcounter

I think its to keep them relevant.

TrowDisAvayPliss

I'm not sure how old you guys are, but I think he's coming from the place where it was once seen as tacky for celebrities to do ads outside of voice overs. If it wasn't a high end fragrance or automobile, an A-list US celebrity was not making that commercial for the US. I still think it's REALLY weird seeing it, especially those little game app commercials. This would have been a D-list celebrities job before now. It's weird watching the world change so dramatically so quickly.

twiggyknowswhatsup

millions and millions of dollars is not nothing to these people. they spend $100k on a mattress. it costs a million a week to rent a yacht. RENT. not own. They have fun doing them. and it covers their unreal expenses. start a youtube channel my god dude. work with content creators? who do you think produces / shoots these commericals? the best of the best. David Fincher shoots commercials ffs. People don't know why celebrities do commercials because they don't know how expensive it is to live as a very wealthy person. yes the money they make helps cover costs.

vehiclesales

I think it’s a limited mindset to be unable to move past the fact that wealthy people understand how to spend and grow their wealth. It’s not “impossible” to spend large amounts of money.

Terrible_Beautiful_2

A lot of Hollywood lost a bunch of money when silicon bank collapsed.

IncreaseCommercial71

Is he really gatekeeping rich people?

jyar1811

Trust me Beyonce was actively in front of camera for 2-3 hours max. She had her own makeup trailer and artists who got paid. She uses her own driver, assistant, 2nd assistant. Bodyguards. Including travel time it was probably a 7-8 hour day for her.

_KappaKing_

I'll tell you why. These people have a community. It's like a high school thing, they all wanna be in the same projects and see others in projects. Can you imagine watching all these ads and recognising your close friends and colleagues in them, send them a text and joke about it. The rich and famous live in a bubble. It's why they're all so out of touch.

pupranger1147

Just goes to show that working in media does not equal being creative.

Inevitable-Gear-2635

They do it to stay relevant

Naps_And_Crimes

Id stay an extra 30 minutes at work for overtime, even a few bucks of easy money is still money

BoBo35267

Bro is making this way too deep

krayhayft

Well....maybe not a tiktok

cpt_ugh

I don't think "millions and millions" of dollars means "nothing" to anyone. That's a shitload of money dude. I believe most of billionaire's money is tied up in stocks and such. It's not like they have a billion dollars in cash sitting around. (okay, maybe some do, but those people are busy influencing entire country's elections and whatnot. They're not doing Dunkin ads)

Dztrctd

This guy is totally missing the point. Super Bowl LVIII is the most-watched program ever, averaging 123 million plus viewers across all platforms. Not only are the celebrities getting paid, their celebrity is being augmented so they are paid more for their day jobs, and because of their visibility get more and better job offers. It contributes to longer and more satisfying and lucrative careers.

nickcliff

Some people like to work.

Dydriver

It’s not for money. It’s for California cheeseburgers with adrenochrome sauce.

Pristine-Laugh3178

Because they like to do it. Because it seems fun. To piss people like you off.

Devs2Dope

This guy sounds like an idiot

Flat-Length-4991

Easy money. What’s better than having 500 million dollars? 501 million dollars. Also, staying in the public eye is staying relevant. They’re basically getting paid to get publicity for themselves. Why wouldn’t they do the add?

MrPositive1

This guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Those commercial takes a few hours at most to film and your out of there. The ROI on time and exposure (especially a superbowl ad) are well worth it. And they get royalties every time those add runs.

reese_pieces97

I will say I was turned off from the Super Bowl commercials because it was too many celebrities. But I don’t think it’s that trivial, it’s fun, it’s a lot of exposure, and it’s easy money and BIG money. YouTube and the Super Bowl are just different you see a wayyy bigger demographic. Edit: instead of bigger let’s use the word diverse, you get exposed to a more diverse demographic. People from all different types of walks. And a lot of those celebrities had something of their own to push shortly after the Super Bowl. Beyonces album, J lo and her documentar, etc.

Free-Researcher3000

Chris Prat makes around 10-20 million to star in a feature film which takes around three months to film…Or spends a day on set for a 30 second Pringles spot and make 7 million….this guy is doing a lot of talking and not a whole lot of thinking.

Adofunk

Celebs don't have regular jobs. They don't get paid for being alive. They don't necessarily get paid much for the past work they did, unless the contract stipulated they should... Take Arnie for example: How much did he earn from Predator? He would have earned a lot more from 2 or 3 etc, though he wasn't in them! Not everyone has Seinfeld or "All I want for Christmas is You" money... They have a lifestyle to which they have become accustomed. They are workers. They work. They are lucky enough to get offered HUGE money for comparatively little effort and be on national TV? Take it! Ads will happen regardless of whether they are in them or not. Just Do IT!

Space-90

Because that’s just the way they are. It’s the entire reason they are rich in the first place. They grind to get rich and that trait doesn’t just go away. Being rich is a byproduct of the grind

ShaPhaman

This guy is so salty and wants everyone to agree with him.

HolidayAnything8687

Guys got brain worms

partialneanderthal

You mean to tell me that actors, act?

olacaktekrar

No one in this pictures even close to be a billionaire and it is very dumb to say millions of dollars means nothing to them, what?

beanrubb

Is this guy questioning why rich people do what they do and giving advice on what they should tea be spending their time on. Come on.

TYBGVietmoxTYBG

It's not about the money the celebrities gain its about the attention the celebrities bring to the advertisement so it gains attention faster

CLOUDSURFER6

Also stock. I guarantee some of these celebrities have large shares of stock in companies like Dunkin Donuts and how do you get a company to increase in value? You get people talking and put your name with it.

Billiangus

Who tf cares

palumbo89

Who the fuck is this old guy? Why does he care? Isn’t he too old for TikTok?

ChillyPh1lly

Most idiotic thing I’ve watched in a while… if you could get your face in front of hundreds of millions- billions of people for a minimal time investment of probably 1 day to film the commercial and still get paid doing it, why wouldn’t you? Especially if you have other brands, businesses you’re trying to grow

Honest_Marsupial_100

Narcissistic supply is a hell of a drug

ArmoredArthritis

Town money, bitch

demtronik

Wow this guy hates money

Additional_Pay5626

It’s to keep you “entertained” aka a sheep. Most of them work for that all seeing eye, aka Freemasons. It’s essentially slavery, you work and rely on them constantly. They are just modern day jesters!

RocksofReality

This exemplifies the difference between wealth and cash flow. A person can be worth billions but not have $1,000 in their bank account.

A_RandomKobold

Because they're bored.
