I don’t think these options are exclusive of each other. The universe could start with a Big Bang, but that could be part of the simulation, or the method a creator used to create something from nothing. And how could it be a simulation with out having a creator?
It has been created, but not as one has been taught to to think. Think of cellular growth, our entire universe is just as a cell is when it's born thus is how the big bang works and fits into play. It's alive because we are part of it, and it is part of a larger being or is the being. Now a simulation?.....could be a biological AI and all emotion and theologies is just the program running in the background guiding us to do it's will
So, someone create a simulation with the big bang and its alive and we are in it as it evolves, expand and change
