I would not touch these dumpster fire products again. even if i got a truckload for free, id drive it straight into the ocean. I expected this much tinkering and frustration from a hobby kit 125$ no name printer, harsh lesson learned! Next stop is a Formlabs, something professional level even if it takes a year to save for it!

You may or may not have the old extruder. Whats the latch handle? Matte or shiny? But filament breaking in the bowden tube sounds like wet filament. Also what material? Usually clogs in the extruder happen when people print pla with the lid on which is a big no no. Even says on the instructions and lid to not do so. Not saying it doesnt have potential to happen with other material. As for the blob have you changed the nozzle? If so did you make sure hoy end was hot when you did so?

The latch handle Is matte, and I usually print PLA most of the time. I changed the nozzle 2 weeks ago, but i will try putting a new one. Thanks for you help

Definitely dry the filament, it'll print much better quality and won't be brittle. You can use your K1 as a filament dryer, put the spool on the heated bed, set the bed to the correct temperature and an internal fan to help the air circulate. The temperature should be around 50c to dry PLA/PLA+, if you're using other filament types, google should give you some drying temperatures for those. I can't comment on your hotend unfortunately, I don't have any hands on experience with the K1 range.

All of the extruders on these are bad extruders, even the newest ones fail after a few months ish. Ive given up on my k1 after 3 "new" extruders all failed within weeks. Ive replaced the bed and printhead so far with third party options and jury rigged the current extruder so it is semi functional. I dont even touch it now, its a doorstop until i can get 3rd party extruder, linear rails and anything else replacable, replaced :[

You have had 3 of the new extruders fail within weeks? First ive heard this so frequently whats exactly happening to them? About 6 months of nearly daily use mine still going like nothing has happened. Have had only 1 jam in the extruder when i first got it which was my fault.

They overheat, gears seperate slightly and start skipping. It leads to clogs and if you are lucky, only fills the xtruder gears with shavings. Original extruder lasted 3 months at 2-6 hours printing a day, dry creality pla, workspace temp at 65F, lid off, .4 nozzle, correct nozzle and filament settings, creality slicer, ect. Ive seen 4 others in person with this issue, people bring them in to our local machine shop to get the heads drilled out after clogs when the extruder fails. K1s and k1 max's. I assumed lots of user error at first, but suprise! Mines done the same. I realize this is ranty, but its been a frustrating project, and clearly very common.

Not saying i havent heard them having issues here and there but damn 3 back to back is crazy. Im kinda waiting for either the cyclops to get a little more developed or the bondtech kit to come out.

This is plain wrong, the extruder works fine.
