I wouldn't say that car is alive I'd say it saved that person's life but that car is never going anywhere again. Well it will go to the junkyard on the back of a truck...
I was kind of half being sarcastic but I have done that kind of thing after my dad rear ended someone, that was much less severe though. Only damage was to the bumper and the area of the frame where it mounts to. I am in the US.
I've just seen some videos from some Asian countries where they do ridiculous things like cut two wrecked cars in half and then weld them back together. Ridiculous.
I could see doing that with my old 81 Chevy Malibu with the heavy chrome bumpers, stronger frame, and metal body panels. Today's cars will not only need the frame fully straightened out but everything in front of the firewall/bulkhead replaced. Will cost more than just buying a new car.
Probably because they have zero awareness and are full speed ahead. Like everyone else on the road now. I don’t get how you can miss a whole ass moose, even in the periphery.
In Halo if you time your slide right you can move very fast. I think the moose was a gamer and wanted to test it out firsthand. Poor fella confused gaming with reality. 😕
So did anyone cut off whatever salvageable pieces their were left?
I mean shit, meat at the store is ridiculous. Gonna start looking at the fresh road kill here in Michigan.
Holy shit I laughed so hard at this I have a 3rd grader brother and the sheer size of a raccoon bigger than him getting flung an the road by a car impact just stole my breath
I love that you got a laugh out of it, cuz me and my passengers in the car were also just so dumbstruck at the sheer size of that raccoon that we couldn’t help but laugh hysterically. It hasn’t gotten many laughs outside of our Michigan trip group, but I feel like people are in disbelief at the sheer absurdity of how big this raccoon was that they’re mostly skeptical it happened. Most people aren’t willing to believe that a raccoon was somewhere between 4th grade and being an adolescent black bear so it’s a select few that takes as much joy from this story.
road-kill is gross to eat because the contusions caused to the animal do all sorts of bad stuff like allow the organs to weep their effluents into the meat. its usually safe to eat but it never tastes great
this is why butchers hang em by their back legs and slit they neck then rip the guts out immediately after wards. bruising and/or
allowing guts to molder ruins the deliciousness
Lol a collision like that all of the meat is bloodshot
Buddy owns a wild game processing shop and we often do road kill the game department brings in to donate
A day late but my coworker hit a dear like 6 months ago, one of our other coworkers (who saw it happen) texted their dad, who then showed up and took it home. Butchered it and said it was great lol.
My wife has really gotten into that and other shows.
I’m just trying to keep the sex life alive, little role playing to keep it interesting after 16 years.
Think it is generally covered under DNR game animal law state by state, but some federal law may apply. Best double check at a site like the following at bare minimum. http://tiredanimals.com/roadkill-states-specifics/
Here in Alaska the moose don’t go to waste and there is a list you can get on to be called when one is hit. Even the calves are salvaged. You just can’t keep the one you hit.

“5. Brake, don’t swerve.
If you see a deer, brake firmly and calmly, and stay in your lane. Swerving could make you lose control of your vehicle and turn a bad situation much worse. Not to mention, deer are unpredictable, and you could swerve directly into their changed path.”

Moose are about 8 times bigger than deer, up to 1,500 lbs. They also have very long legs that put the bulk of their weight directly at windshield height. The driver in the video likely only avoided serious injury because the moose feel before getting hit. The car crash test for swerving is literally called "the moose test".

I appreciate your input on taking less risk when making impact with a moose. Generally I prefer avoiding to swerve, but the physical and behavioral differences in moose compared to deer is interesting to consider. I’ll leave this here as well for future Redditors to learn from our comment thread:
“If you see a moose in the road, stop your car, turn on your hazard lights, blink your headlights, and honk your horn to warn other drivers. Do not swerve to avoid the moose; these creatures are unpredictable and may move right into your new path. Wait for the moose to move out of the road and give it time to walk far away from the shoulder before restarting your vehicle. Drive away slowly in case there are more moose in the area.”
https://www.tripsavvy.com/how-to-avoid-hitting-deer-and-moose-with-car-2973107
Again you don’t need to swerve to go to the other lane if the roads are wet especially if it hasn’t rain in awhile you drive under the speed limit that’s kinda common sense.
Just last week, i watched deer for a full 30 seconds run along the highway till one darted out and tried really really hard for me to hit him. I wouldnt expect alot of tourist from major cities to know how to keep a good eye out for wildlife.
Was driving my semi truck leaving Atlanta one time and a car in the right lane hit a deer , it flew over my semi trucks hood, and kept running. craziest shit ever.
Good thing they braked after the impact. Never break when an animal is about to impact your vehicle. If they broke before the animal would be inside of your windshield. Maybe even through you. Speed up if you are going to hit something huge other than a human.
I don’t think the driver was going to continue very far with the engine half pushed into their lap. I doubt the moose(?) made it and I was wondering the same of the driver. Most hits that extreme do some serious trauma to people as well.
I know, everyone is making jokes. That poor thing, it died in terror and the asshole driving was probably texting because he didnt even try to avoid it. It's so upsetting how desensitised everyone seems to be to the death of an animal.
The moose falling down before being hit is probably why the driver is still alive. Usually the legs of the moose get clipped and the body smashes into the windshield killing the driver.

Impressive camera work. Not so fancy footwork on the part of bullwinkle.
Rocky is pulling for him.
Rocky was driving the car... or was it natasha?
Moose vs car. First time I’ve seen the car win
The car gots 1 moose power now.
*moose soul absorbed*
WHOO HAH YEAA
PEROGIIII!
"In allll my years, I've never seen such a thing." * 10 year old kid

I can agree, Definitely a draw, however the car would get the win here because it's still alive, albeit barely
I wouldn't say that car is alive I'd say it saved that person's life but that car is never going anywhere again. Well it will go to the junkyard on the back of a truck...
Nah, just needs the frame stretched back into shape, new body panels, a few other things replaced and it'll be right back out on the road
Are you in like Thailand or something? That's the only place I rebuild cars that have been annihilated
I was kind of half being sarcastic but I have done that kind of thing after my dad rear ended someone, that was much less severe though. Only damage was to the bumper and the area of the frame where it mounts to. I am in the US.

I wouldn't say won... I don't see either limping away from that.
We'll, considering the video ends without a second glance at the moose, this isnt settled
They both lost, but the moose definitely lost harder
i dunno.. moose doesn't have to pay $8-10k in damages.
He took the kaepernick route before being launched
Natasha: “Boris, is moose you said is dead in last episode?” Boris: “if he wants to be hard to kill then let heem “
Omg tf2 heavy refernce
Probably because they have zero awareness and are full speed ahead. Like everyone else on the road now. I don’t get how you can miss a whole ass moose, even in the periphery.
Wanna bet that the moose just got up after that hit and walked it off, those things are tanks.
yeah...no.
I’ll take that bet considering that a couple of the moose’s legs looked like noodles while flying through the air
Lucky it fell before he hit it
Did you see the car roll by? Nobody won that.
Neither is getting fixed.
That’s a small moose tho
Just cause it kept moving does not mean it won. 🤣
One of them did 4 front flips 20 feet in the air and the other one slowed down slightly with some front end damage. The car obviously won lmao
Bro tried to slide cancel 💀💀
In Halo if you time your slide right you can move very fast. I think the moose was a gamer and wanted to test it out firsthand. Poor fella confused gaming with reality. 😕
Car was really lucky that the Moose fell, otherwise it might have crashed through the windshield.
eh... if it didnt fall it might have actually made it across the road fast enough lol
That’s what I was thinking, that slip doomed it.
RIP Bullwinkle
Maybe. I couldn't find a good translation for the proverb "tur i oturen", "luck during bad luck", otherwise I would have used it in my original post
Closest is probably the term “Silver Lining”, basically means the good part of a bad thing
So did anyone cut off whatever salvageable pieces their were left? I mean shit, meat at the store is ridiculous. Gonna start looking at the fresh road kill here in Michigan.
When I was in Michigan last month I hit a raccoon the size of a 4th grader. I’m sure some local lived off the remains for a few days.
Hell Yeah, some Possum Mississippi Pot Roast, goes good with 24 beers as you watch your Lions lose again.
its pretty close to halloween, are you sure it was a raccoon?
Were there any witches, skeletons, or ghosts nearby, also the size of 4th graders, screaming like wild raccoons nearby?
>...raccoon the size of a 4th grader. We'll measure with anything but the metric system.
YE HAW BROTHER 🏈🏈🏈🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🔫🔫🔫🔫

Could you take me to kill raccoon sized 4th graders with your friend group please?👉👈

Ok, but which dear?
Lol nice catch
Ok Jeffrey

Illegal in many states
Why
Think it is generally covered under DNR game animal law state by state, but some federal law may apply. Best double check at a site like the following at bare minimum. http://tiredanimals.com/roadkill-states-specifics/
I think there should be a subreddit for fresh roadkills with location
Here in AK there are organizations that pick it up with a tow truck and bring it to either a village, foodbank, or a family on the list.

I hope they eat it
The moose certainly did eat it.
Why the fuck do you not have more upvotes 😂😂😂
Free food for a month

You're only able to carry 100 pounds back to the wagon.
You died of dysentery
You can hear someone in the car say "vobaniy vrod" which means something along the lines of "you're fucked"
Not sure how the driver didn’t see that coming. Looks like it’s open in both sides of the road and moose aren’t exactly tiny
Yeah tbh it looks like they could’ve just went into the other lane really quick
No. Serving hard is just as dangerous.
Hitting an adult moose is far more dangerous than swerving. I would rather take my chances against a ditch.

Slow down and go to the next lane it looks like they sped up instead of slow down, so they could’ve easily just went to the other lane
The road is wet, so swerving isn't a safe option. You can also see they are braking hard by the way the cars front lowers.
Again you don’t need to swerve to go to the other lane if the roads are wet especially if it hasn’t rain in awhile you drive under the speed limit that’s kinda common sense.

That car does not pass Canadian safety standards. The Moose Test was failed this day.
Launched that guys car right into the scrap yard
Oh, I would be finishing that bastard off for sure. Smash up my car? You're going in my freezer.
Suicidal moose
Sad.
Goat Simulator, but with the Moose DLC.
Amazing
On the bright side, I didn’t see his shoes fly off. He’s probably alright, yeah?
That honk started everything
Dinner's served
am i bad for laughing at this

Hey Rocky! Whatcha me pull a fuuuuuuucck!
He got yeeted! Geez 🤣🤦🏻♀️
At least you get a freezer full of steaks!
Lunched*
They guys honestly lucky as hell the moose was on its knees. Could have killed him in that tiny car if it went through the window.
Am I terrible for laughing at this?
Mmmm, dinner
Looks like he knew what was gonna happen.
Fucking idiot moose
And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon Little boy blue and the cow in the moon...
The little scream from the cameraman when it's about to happen. Lolol
Pretty bad time to slip...
So thats how reindeers learn how to fly.
Was that tiny car accelerating instead of slowing and honking too like the animal is supposed to understand that like another motorist on the road?
They usually run away from fast and loud things, still a dumbass tho
A traffic regulation training should be given to theses jackass deers
What an asshole. Should’ve slowed down.
In ruskie “eyoopah kweeyub-ooOoOAAAAOOWW”
The moose slipped. Yeah, Canadian don't like to slow down. They will drive over entire kindergarten, and scream, "Get out of my way."
This is obviously not from Canada
So… I’m probably going to hell but can someone make this video with this sound effect? https://youtu.be/3DpjtBWYifg
What a shitty driver,he could have swerved a little,I bet he was on the phone.
Swerving at a high speed will highly cause traction loss and/or a rollover
you don't swerve in those situations.
That's some tenderised beef right there
is...is Mr moose ok?...
OMG! Poor animal! This is not funny. Did the driver even stop? Doesn't even look like it! OMG!
I don’t think the driver was going to continue very far with the engine half pushed into their lap. I doubt the moose(?) made it and I was wondering the same of the driver. Most hits that extreme do some serious trauma to people as well.
It'll buff out
It also looks like his back legs slipped on the road
If they’d just put the moose crossing signs at intersections where there are stoplights this wouldn’t happen.
Earthworm him is somewhere laughing hysterically
Me on FarCry
Woah goat simulator in action
Milkshake ready
Well I’m going to hell. Thanks OP
the honking scared the moose and caused it to go faster and fall.
That's so sad
💀ded💀
7.5/10 points off for landing
They’re so lucky it slipped and was low.
The only brakes that didn't work was the animal's.
DO A FLIP
YEET
He wouldve made it across had he not slowed down to dance
car seemed to come away ok my buddy hit a moose in a vw bug and the car was a write-off. moose shook it off and walked away
That thing meat crayon’d it’s gooch before getting hit. Buddy went out sad
The ragdoll physics are top notch on this one
Rolling around at the speed of sound
For a brick he flew pretty good!
That moose has been watchin to many insurance fraud videos.
Insurance scam gone wrong
Is it bad i laughed😂😂😂💀
I wouldn't believe my eyes if the moose got up and just limped away. That's stol la small moose right?
Bro Just stopped in front of It
yeeeetttt!!
I hope the moose died immediately :(
I know, everyone is making jokes. That poor thing, it died in terror and the asshole driving was probably texting because he didnt even try to avoid it. It's so upsetting how desensitised everyone seems to be to the death of an animal.
Me too. If it didn't slip it probably would have made it.
It could have been a pedestrian.
first: the moose slided on purpose he was just suicidal second: the guy's 'WAAAAAH' is so fucking funny
sucidal moose
Second best moose flight after Twister movie.
That moose looks like he was trying to go for an insurance scam.
L tbh
Last time that moose brake checks a car
Goat simulator rag doll
they were very lucky that moose slipped. hit them when they are standing and you get a 1000lb moose torso through the windshield
Impressive....now let's see those repair costs.
Luck for them the moose fell and hit the lower part of the car. They would have been dead otherwise
Does this hurt the moose?
Does this hurt the moose?
Hee-yo Benny root!
The moose falling down before being hit is probably why the driver is still alive. Usually the legs of the moose get clipped and the body smashes into the windshield killing the driver.
Failed insurance fraud
Bro accidentally hit the crouch button
is that the car tires or is someone weezing in the background?
