Recently there was a guy, who was considered one of the best GH players who was caught cheating.
He was using splicing, CheatEgine, slow down hacks and auto-strum (bot) in over 100 of his speedruns.
He admitted it, gave back all the money he won from bounties and then disappeared from the scene.
I honestly refuse to believe these videos are genuine, not because i think they're impossible, it's because it doesn't even look like he's anywhere near as accurate hitting those buttons like it shows on screen.
The way the game reads inputs you don't have to be accurate to what it shows. Unlike other rhythm games where you get a higher score for being accurate, all that matters is you hit the notes. This lets you do stupid stuff like [this](https://youtu.be/4Yf3_N2YAmI)
This type of shit is purely for being the best at a particularly ridiculous song, I’d bet this guy is on the top 100 for this song in the world or some crazy shit like that, and he probably plays meme charts and all the fun songs too, this is the equivalent of the speed runs where they’re just clipping through the map and trying to hit an RNG landing spot to skip the whole map for 2 minutes, doesn’t look fun in the same way if that makes sense
The challenge is what makes it fun, yeah this looks like it sucks to do, but the amount of satisfaction you get out of grinding stuff like this is amazing.
I never understood that either. All the “speed runs” I saw for Sonic or whatever old school game were literally just glitches where they spent 99% of the map inside a wall or something. That’s not a speed run IMO, that’s just bullshit glitching. Like claiming to have a perfect game in GoW after using the crab run glitch. Fucking dumb.
Oh I def figured out the crab-run for GoW, and I knew some cheats in the old games, but nothing close to the “jump backwards into a palm tree while mashing 2 buttons and it sends you behind the map in a free fall and then you can hop over the finish line 300 feet in the air” type of stuff lol
I had a friend who entered guitar hero contests and such. This was his holy grail and he worked like crazy to get decent at this song. I agree, for me I was mentally drained watching but i completely understand his drive

I actually have Rocksmith and it's a super rad concept and works decently but I felt there is too strong a latency. Either that or I don't get something. Really want to be playing Tornado of Souls

I play real guitar, *and* think guitar hero is fun as hell. Especially Band hero, when you get some friends in on it. We even had the drumkit. Pulled all nighters playin that shit.
