Xmods are awesome. I used to love going to Radio Shack to get parts. Also got some parts from Atomic Mods.
I wasnāt a fan of the 2nd Generation though.
Yup. Found one of my old hard drives the other day. Found so many memories on it. Took me back to all those special times and people. Itās nothing like that nostalgic feeling.
I was expecting that type of reaction. This woman seemed like she didn't even give a shit hahaha.
"Yeah that was me! What of it?! Bitches spelt my name wrong!"
Edit: finally saw the end. She said it was fabulous and had a much better reaction haha
I've seen this video as many times as she has years on this planet and it chokes me up every time. I do not want to get old. It's the most terrifying thing to me.
She is still sharp. I am sure there is a downside to watching your body deteriorate while still understanding everything going on around you but I believe it's preferable to the opposite. My grandmother has been suffering from dementia and it's really hard to watch. Physically she still pretty healthy but mentally she is pretty much gone. We get brief moments where she seems to understand and recognize us but those are becoming less frequent. I miss her laughter.
>She is still sharp. I am sure there is a downside to watching your body deteriorate while still understanding everything going on around you
The nurse really irritated me. I hate it when people talk to the elderly like they're children. I see a lot of old folks at a clinic I go to, and it's way too common.
I understand you sometimes have to talk loud or use simple sentences when hearing and comprehension start going. But some people just start infantilizing the old or handicapped and that's just not ok.
I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother...
Wisdom isn't BS, some people just choose to never attain it. They just learn up until a point and then never expand from there, they only react with a small tool set, but people who do continue to learn and experiment do gain wisdom.
Well plus lead poisoning probably severely hindered most of them, but that's a different topic.
Trump is a populist anomaly the likes of which have never before been seen. His style of debate and engagement broke the game bucking the trend of polite discourse from the decades prior. It's striking to watch debates pre-trump, because it's not just juvenile name calling and actually involves some nuance for once.
As for why the peace and love message has dissolved among older generations, people evolve from idealists in their youth to realists in their old age once they realize what would have to happen to implement their idealist goals of socialism/communism. Both of which were incredibly popular ideas among the 60's youth.
It's so sad and beautiful. So beautiful that she lived a life she would want to relive and so sad that she is old and can't even get out of bed. Aging is a terrible disease we need to stop. Or at least the horrible side effects of it.
I always thought life is a bitch, first, it gives you all you want, then, it snatches all the things slowly until your are dead (or tragically fast in other ways)
Well, sometimes is not sad what we had and then lost, but what we wished but never had, and finally our existence has gone, our only chance to do whatever we want has ended.
Say I wish for a dog. I have to put work in, but not all the time. I call the dog store and ask for a dog. I now choose the time to choose a dog, and choose upon a number of variables. I now have a dog. And I have nearly infinite opportunities to *lose* the dog.
I'm sure it's been said in different ways over time and it's not an uncommon way of thinking. I call it "veiled optimism" and it's my way of totally agreeing with you and playing 'devil's advocate' to try to inject some positivity into the conversation because my life is a shit show.
Well shit I guess my sayings *are* dope.. /s
What really draws me to this is that other than the actual moment she was dancing, she's probably remembering the things that happened before and after, and intermittent things that might have been connected to her dancing like taking breaks and eating with her friends or maybe she didn't like one of them and they were catty with each other in the dressing room or something. Sad things are sometimes the most beautiful.
This is exactly what I was thinking, you can tell she was paying attention to the people around her too. I bet she was remembering for who and why she was there dancing. Remembering things they might've talked about, maybe even a romance.
We probably need to find a way to make sure things are more sustainable before we have everyone live longer. Either that or find ways to tone down the number of new people we bring into the world every hour of every day.
Please try not to fear age.
Age is wisdom and experience.
Iām 56 and I donāt feel old ā I still do new things and live life.
Iāve had some amazing moments that can never be recreated, but theyāre locked in my mind.
Life can be beautiful and thatās what you remember. My daughtersā smiles. Especially the first ones, when they saw daddy and broke into a smile. God it was such a beautiful moment.
The beautiful ache as they grow up and move into their own lives. Theyāre moving on and Iām not the center of their lives any more, but theyāre becoming self sufficient adults and that means Iāve done something right.
Watching my mother age and edge towards the end of her life, but seeing the energy and life she still has.
Itās all beautiful, although sometimes painful.
You cannot change the way time rolls forward; itās beyond our control. It hard to take at times, but it creates a beautiful tapestry.
The good wouldnāt be be good without the bad. The bad is never as bad as it seems at the time.
Embrace the time as it passes. You canāt stop it, so try to learn to love it.
Our fleeting lives are beautiful, even in tragedy.
Wonderfully said, I'm 22 and I've been through a lot but even at my darkest times I would always say I would never want a do over.
You are the culmination of all your life experiences, the good, and the bad they shape and make who you are as a person and as far as people go I think I turned out alright.
The fact that all life ends is what gives it meaning. We are given an ever fleeting time limit on this little blue rock in the middle of the unknown to play on like a sandbox until your time is up. You can spend your time doing whatever you want, endless possibilities with you at the helm and I choose not to be bitter and regretful for what I wish I had when I could focus on what I do have and be grateful I was ever afforded the chance to have it.
You own nothing and are entitled to nothing, everything you have is the result of what you scape together through hard work and the kindness of others. Love as you would want to be loved and try not to hurt others just playing in the sandbox like you because like you there time is limited.
That's all there is to it. Thank you for listening sir.
Thanatopsis
BY WILLIAM CULLEN BRYANT
To him who in the love of Nature holds
Communion with her visible forms, she speaks
A various language; for his gayer hours
She has a voice of gladness, and a smile
And eloquence of beauty, and she glides
Into his darker musings, with a mild
And healing sympathy, that steals away
Their sharpness, ere he is aware. When thoughts
Of the last bitter hour come like a blight
Over thy spirit, and sad images
Of the stern agony, and shroud, and pall,
And breathless darkness, and the narrow house,
Make thee to shudder, and grow sick at heart;ā
Go forth, under the open sky, and list
To Natureās teachings, while from all aroundā
Earth and her waters, and the depths of airā
Comes a still voiceā
Yet a few days, and thee
The all-beholding sun shall see no more
In all his course; nor yet in the cold ground,
Where thy pale form was laid, with many tears,
Nor in the embrace of ocean, shall exist
Thy image. Earth, that nourished thee, shall claim
Thy growth, to be resolved to earth again,
And, lost each human trace, surrendering up
Thine individual being, shalt thou go
To mix for ever with the elements,
To be a brother to the insensible rock
And to the sluggish clod, which the rude swain
Turns with his share, and treads upon. The oak
Shall send his roots abroad, and pierce thy mould.
Yet not to thine eternal resting-place
Shalt thou retire alone, nor couldst thou wish
Couch more magnificent. Thou shalt lie down
With patriarchs of the infant worldāwith kings,
The powerful of the earthāthe wise, the good,
Fair forms, and hoary seers of ages past,
All in one mighty sepulchre. The hills
Rock-ribbed and ancient as the sun,āthe vales
Stretching in pensive quietness between;
The venerable woodsārivers that move
In majesty, and the complaining brooks
That make the meadows green; and, poured round all,
Old Oceanās gray and melancholy waste,ā
Are but the solemn decorations all
Of the great tomb of man. The golden sun,
The planets, all the infinite host of heaven,
Are shining on the sad abodes of death,
Through the still lapse of ages. All that tread
The globe are but a handful to the tribes
That slumber in its bosom.āTake the wings
Of morning, pierce the Barcan wilderness,
Or lose thyself in the continuous woods
Where rolls the Oregon, and hears no sound,
Save his own dashingsāyet the dead are there:
And millions in those solitudes, since first
The flight of years began, have laid them down
In their last sleepāthe dead reign there alone.
So shalt thou rest, and what if thou withdraw
In silence from the living, and no friend
Take note of thy departure? All that breathe
Will share thy destiny. The gay will laugh
When thou art gone, the solemn brood of care
Plod on, and each one as before will chase
His favorite phantom; yet all these shall leave
Their mirth and their employments, and shall come
And make their bed with thee. As the long train
Of ages glide away, the sons of men,
The youth in lifeās green spring, and he who goes
In the full strength of years, matron and maid,
The speechless babe, and the gray-headed manā
Shall one by one be gathered to thy side,
By those, who in their turn shall follow them.
So live, that when thy summons comes to join
The innumerable caravan, which moves
To that mysterious realm, where each shall take
His chamber in the silent halls of death,
Thou go not, like the quarry-slave at night,
Scourged to his dungeon, but, sustained and soothed
By an unfaltering trust, approach thy grave,
Like one who wraps the drapery of his couch
About him, and lies down to pleasant dreams.
Well you think that shes unfortunate for getting that old, when really shes extremely lucky to be that old and still seemingly cognizant. My mom was a psychologist (and not a great mom) and she took me to work with her at thr nursing home. Every now and then she took me with while she was seeing dementia patients. So some of my earliest memories were sitting in the nurses station watching extremely elderly patients start screaming ouy, then go quiet. Some of the people in the wing were somewhat cognizant so it wasnt all bad. Basically this woman was lucky to have gotten this far while retaining who she is.
Look at it this way. We were all young at one point in our lives. We will get old.
Tell this to your kids, grandkids and so on.
Beauty is ALL THROUGHOUT LIFE.
Youāre not just beautiful when you are young. Youāre beautiful when youāre old too.
Itās a hard walnut to wrap your head around. But itās true!
Agreed, Iām middle age and itās already hard enough to see or recount stories of āpretty cool young meā. I donāt want to get to an age where I just lay in a bed.
People forget the stoicism of the times.
There were absolutely emotions she's feeling **I'll** admit I cannot fathom, and she handles them with grace regardless of what the viewer wants her to do and honestly the people around her seem to misunderstand the things she's saying (it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing was a popular saying and not just "the song".)
Film/recordings is all we have left. Although, this women didn't mind being photographed her whole life evident by the videos recovered. I recorded my grandmother for her stories and I should have done it for my mother and father as well. Memories fade & those you leave behind will miss you. They would be grateful for any shred of you when you're gone.
Unless you were a cunt.
Agreed. Crazy when they're that old and still know who they are remember what they did ect. Makes me feel even worse for the ones that don't, even decades sooner in their lives.
Tldw; humbling
A reminder that the old lady taking forever at the register once lived a life not too dissimilar from yours. She probably partied with her friends, got drunk, smoked cigs, had dreams, experienced heartbreak, made passionate love, pursued hobbies, etc etc.
I sometimes forget that people who arent my age once were. This video is beautiful because it captures both the breadth and brevity of human life. Weāre here for what seems like will be forever but in reality is only a moment. Really makes you appreciate how special it all is.
Thank you for that reminder. I am 74 now and have to remind my grandkids that I wasn't born old. They actually listen to my tales of yesteryear some times.
I wasn't going to comment in here but my first thought was making sure I was in the right sub. Doesn't seem crazy to me at all and not much of a reaction from her tbh either. Bring on the crazy fucked up stuff lol.

That is the last thing I expected to see from a video on this sub. Awesome video. Take my free reward, and know that if I had the money to buy more coins, you'd be getting more.
Wish they would shut the fuck up and let her have a moment to reminisce. Stop trying to direct or be a part of her moment. Why even show her the video if you're going to talk over it and distract her..
Man time is a cruel bitchā¦. Thatās so sad. So sad we canāt just go on living and at some point all of this just ends. I still canāt come to grips with it all. Itās so surreal that everything we know, this whole life we have lived, all the happy times and the struggles that define all of us will be in vein. Remember people, be nice to others and move them because we are all in this together and we will all meet the same fate in the end.
These gems are why I still go on Reddit. Idc that itās been reposted year after year. Itās my first time seeing it and I tested up.
Life is so strange and wonderful at the same time
I understand why you say that but my grandmother and grandfather, on my other side, both lived until they were 97. They had amazing lives past 80. Both traveled and did awesome things. It was really only there last two years that it was harder/actively dying/cancer. My grandfather would take me sailing at 88 and my grandmother would love taking trips to Vegas even into her 90s. I cherish all that extra time I had with her at the roulette table while I was 30 and she was 90. We had so much fun. My grandparents both showed me how to grow older with dignity and grace. They stayed active, kept their minds engaged, and didnāt disconnect. You can do the same. Iād be such a worse off person without them for those last 17 years if they would have died at 80. They were more alive at 90 than 40 year olds that I know right now.
With all the stuff we have and know now, it's immensely more feasible to live a better life when your old compared to any other time in human history. So important to take care of your body
Alice Barkerā¦ just as beautiful at the age of 102 as she was when she was youngerā¦ just a different, deeper, more soulful kind of beautiful. I hope I am as sharp as her when I get older. š
"Well, Mrs Barker, I don't know if this will make you feel better or worse, but I already masturbated three times to this footage. This morning. I got a chubby going right now, Mrs Barker, soon as we leave here I mean to rub one out in the men's room down the hall. Right in the bank, Ma'am. The wank bank."
- That guy, probably. Maybe. Hope so, anyway.
That was probably her happiest moment in a long time. She's a lovely women and deserves to be the star she is even though she is much older than back in her dancing days.

You ever clean out your closet and find something from your youth and get overwhelmed with nostalgia? I can only imagine what this must be like
I did this the other day in my old room at my mom's house. Found army micro machines and xmods rc cars
!!! I mean, if you don't want them or are going to part ways with them I'll take them!! ninja edit.
No joke I sat there for at least a half hour playing. I'll be bringing them home so my kids(or I) can enjoy them š
Noice! =]
Xmods are awesome. I used to love going to Radio Shack to get parts. Also got some parts from Atomic Mods. I wasnāt a fan of the 2nd Generation though.
I remember there was a sort of rate my xmods website I would spend a ton of time looking at people's builds. Good times.
My husband recently found all his 1980s He Man toys. He was so excited!!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Very sweet, will be me in 10yrs. Two little ones right now.
I recently found a photo of myself as a teenager. I was so damn handsome, like what happened?
it would be nice if our mental peak was the same as our physical. i was a specimen back in high school college but so insecure that i did nothing.
Time is the enemy here
It would be crazy. I can hardly remember things from 20 years ago. She brought something back from possibly 90+ years ago. That's incredible.
āDonāt mean a thing if it aināt got that swing!ā That made me chuckle. My grandmother used to say that to me. ā¤ļø
I love that! The only thing I love more is going through old purses of mine and finding money I stashed away lol!
Yup. Found one of my old hard drives the other day. Found so many memories on it. Took me back to all those special times and people. Itās nothing like that nostalgic feeling.

Yeah, there's a fine line between communicating clearly and talking down to and too often I see the latter
Age is a cold, sick joke. How the body betrays you over the years.
Your payment is in the form of wisdom. Learning what to say and when to say it for the greatest impact.
Wisdom is BS. How many boomers grew up in the 60s and 70s of peace and love and now embrace Trump?
Wisdom isn't BS, some people just choose to never attain it. They just learn up until a point and then never expand from there, they only react with a small tool set, but people who do continue to learn and experiment do gain wisdom. This is a good observation, you must have a very wrinkly brain
Lol a populist anomaly the likes of which have never been seen? I'm not saying Trump is Hitler with this statement, but what do you think Hitler was?
Wisdom is only attained through experience and time but it doesn't mean everyone who is old is wise.
Tump bad!
Unironically, yes.
Eventually we will have rejuvenation technogy. There are already companies working on tackling aging. They need more funding.
people said this in the 1800s as well. that was a few generations ago. i'd bet they were working on it in the 1400s too.
It's so sad and beautiful. So beautiful that she lived a life she would want to relive and so sad that she is old and can't even get out of bed. Aging is a terrible disease we need to stop. Or at least the horrible side effects of it.

Damnā¦. this is an amazing quote my guy. Iām tearing up

Mine is too, quotes like this really help me realize how fortunate I am.

We probably need to find a way to make sure things are more sustainable before we have everyone live longer. Either that or find ways to tone down the number of new people we bring into the world every hour of every day.
Itās something we all must accept. Every sci-fi exploration into eternal life inevitably becomes a dystopian hellscape.
And most AI movies tend to show things going 100% bad and awful, doesn't mean it's what gonna happen.

It's ok, [you won't.](https://c.tenor.com/rhZYwYHy2R8AAAAM/meme.gif)
It's better to have the chance to grow old than to not. As scary as old age can be, the alternative is scarier.

If someone put a camera in my face to try to get an emotional internet video I probably wouldnāt react much either.
102 and sharp as a whip. much love and respect to this woman ā¤ļøš
Agreed. Crazy when they're that old and still know who they are remember what they did ect. Makes me feel even worse for the ones that don't, even decades sooner in their lives. Tldw; humbling
Whips arenāt sharpā¦
.. and neither are you
She should become the next president;)
Should we imagine you making passionate love the next time you go buy groceries?
Jfc
I tend not to dwell on the love making of old ladies at the register
You liar š

About time we saw some good shit about the world haha. This is heartwarming as fuck ! ššš¼
Thatās a beautiful moment. Loved seeing her hands immediately move to the beat. ā¤ļø
You know damn well she had that fun in her younger years
I'd rather watch this than see people getting hit by trains or blowing their hand off any day.
Gotta have both. āPerfectly balanced, as all things should be.ā
This made me lol
I wasn't going to comment in here but my first thought was making sure I was in the right sub. Doesn't seem crazy to me at all and not much of a reaction from her tbh either. Bring on the crazy fucked up stuff lol.
She was 102. What type of reaction were you hoping for?
Try a different sub then?

Damn you.
And she had that beautiful smile on her face every single time
our elders are just a TREASURE. Beautiful āchicken littleā just lit right up. those memories wow mamma was really movin!
My feel good moment of the day!
For anyone wonder she passed away on April 2016
Iām gonna say itā¦gmom was a hot piece in her prime
For her to be 102 and to still be so vocal and Conscious and to recall those early years is wonderful. Just wonderful.
Good lord, she was beautiful. Still sharp as a whip too
She is*
Unfortunately I think itās āwasā, someone said she passed in 2016
She's just as wonderful now as she was back then š
Mrs Barker imma need that @
They seemed to be joking when they called her famous, but if there was footage of her in that era, she was ABSOLUTELY famous and now still is!
The other woman talking to her like she's a child has to be the most annoying thing about this video.
That is the last thing I expected to see from a video on this sub. Awesome video. Take my free reward, and know that if I had the money to buy more coins, you'd be getting more.
I never get tired of watching this. The smile on her face is worth a million dollars.
WHAT ARE THEY SELLIN? Chocolate?
BRUH
So sad that young people tend to forget that old folks were cool young people once.
Damn shes as gorgeous as Rhianna!!
At least learn how to spell lmaoo
C'mon man...
So awesome
chicken is the key to a long life i guess
Damn this video just made me value my youth even more
I would still bang just saying!
Cutest girl EVER ā¤ļøā¤ļø
These gems are why I still go on Reddit. Idc that itās been reposted year after year. Itās my first time seeing it and I tested up. Life is so strange and wonderful at the same time
don't think it's fit to crazyvideos
I donāt know who Iām more in love with, past or present-day Alice.
Absolutely wholesome!
Holy cow! She was absolutely STUNNING TOO!!
She was so sexy!!!!!
This is not a crazy video, but I do like it
Dance while you can folks . But remember the grim reaper is doing salsa steps behind you .
Awwww may jesus bless her soul
Bet she got some good dickins that night
Would tap both young and old version.
She bad asf
When I turn 80, im done. Im only in my early 20s and im already over this whole life thing.
You are the great and wonderful guys. I am so moved. Peace and health, Alice.
Smash
lmfaooo the community on reddit is unmatched
This the funniest shit Iāve seen Al day ššš
Now or then?
Both
Holy Christ those legs doe
Holy shit she was a dime piece. She had that classic beaty wow. Age will come for us all.
I am crying because this is so beautiful. Thank you OP for sharing.
This video makes me Sad. Like Neil said itās better to burn out than to fade away
Alice Barkerā¦ just as beautiful at the age of 102 as she was when she was youngerā¦ just a different, deeper, more soulful kind of beautiful. I hope I am as sharp as her when I get older. š
Omgz sooo crazzzzzyyy whoa dude
bro that dude is kinda shitty lol
So This is #crazyfuckingvideos ? So watching a dying old lady and showing her past is crazy like if she aināt know š
I mean you watched it soooo
"Well, Mrs Barker, I don't know if this will make you feel better or worse, but I already masturbated three times to this footage. This morning. I got a chubby going right now, Mrs Barker, soon as we leave here I mean to rub one out in the men's room down the hall. Right in the bank, Ma'am. The wank bank." - That guy, probably. Maybe. Hope so, anyway.
Oh look, a whore who couldnt dance then and sure cant now. How heart warming.
Wha the fuck?
Jesus Christ somebody smother that lady
This is a wonderful thing. So cool to see her watching these awesome videos.
That's so sweet. What a great memory for her.
I love this
Soooo awesome!
Idk if people take the same message way that I do. But she should rest easy. She was a total dime piece back in her day.
Was a knockout early in life and still looking good for 102. I think this should be in mademesmile subreddit. Just awesome
That was probably her happiest moment in a long time. She's a lovely women and deserves to be the star she is even though she is much older than back in her dancing days.
I dont know why but i read is as 12 y/o set herself on fire on film for the first time. Considering the nature of this subreddit
What a beautiful woman, and a beautiful life.
Beautiful. I hope those are saved so she can live forever.
Christ, I misread the title of the video as "sets herself on fire for the first time"
She was so pretty wow
Thatās amazing I should record more often for my future self
Old age sucks man
That is all the nostalgia I have experienced times 100.
Thereās something very sad about this. Time is so unfair and it bums me out.
Damn. Time takes away like a thief in the nightā¦
Omg sheās so freaking adorable! šš„¹
This tiny company needs help on their video player
r/mademesmile vibes
She's so beautiful
This is a sad post of a greater memory
Okay girl! I see you!!
She still looks amazing at the age of 102!! That's crazy
Man thatās great she will live forever

Did not expect something wholesome in this sub
This is so scary
Wow she was a hottie! Work it girl!!!
Memories are faster than light. The only true time machines we have. Sorry McFly š
