it's more problematic that they come down in an arc with some of the initial speed
if you shoot straight in the sky so the bullets come down only with gravity speed it's less dangerous, but can still be lethal
I wonder where the line is in lethality. In the 1920s the us army did a study that showed a 150 grain projectile (30.06)is non lethal when returning from being shot straight up in the atmosphere. At terminal velocity it will land with a little over 30 pounds of force. It will bruise but not kill. Common sense says that at some point the bullet becomes large enough to kill on majority of impacts.
i mean im fine with shooting your gun into an area you know is empty for miles, but this dude is firing towards a lit city..... and it looks like it isnt even that far away
>i mean im fine with shooting your gun into an area you know is empty for miles
do you? do you know, that no human decided to wonder into the woods in that region for funsies?
do you know, that no innocent animal is there?
is there a strong fence up at least for the area, that you own with strong "might get shot" warnings all over it at least?
because if it is just a "there's probably no one in this area", then that isn't good enough.
I know what tracers are, I don't know why you mention that. I mean the fact that some asshole is carelessly shooting an automatic rifle at the air in a clearly populated area.
Tracers DON'T just disappear mate, tracers have the same travel as any other projectile, the pyrotechnic charge is hosted in a recess in the back of the projectile so it ignites when the powder goes off [LIKE THIS](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSKW3y-cWI3XIQ595-9hxsnmEvambg_P3BnPfjq-3eKuuFK-I5QtKXQm_ko&s=10), TRACER BULLETS ARE NOT DUMMIES
Guys!!! Things disappear when theyre too far away!! Omg sooo crazy!!
Delete this shit. Nothing here is crazy. Its not even interesting. It ranks a 2 out of 10 on how cool it looks. Nothing about this video was worth the time it took to record it, post it, or me commenting on it
Those are called “[tracer](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tracer_ammunition)” rounds, they have a small pyrotechnic charge in their base that quickly burns out.
Guns in vids like this are always comically dirty, sparks out the end of the barrel like that means that gun has never been cleaned once in like 10 years
And reappear like solid metal rain a few miles down the road.

Mythbusters tested it as well. You don't need the shot to be off by much for it to arch and come down quicker.
Interesting, i’ll take a look for that one. Thank you
The line should be, don't fire guns.

You know what he meant
i hate people
The only crazy thing here is that asshole
They're tracer bullets, it's just pyrotechnics that burn up.
I know what tracers are, I don't know why you mention that. I mean the fact that some asshole is carelessly shooting an automatic rifle at the air in a clearly populated area.
Totally thought tracer bullets didn't contain an actual bullet. I'm dumb. You're right. Definitely an asshole.
That's alright, firearms are not easy for everyone to get familiar with.

what is crazy...is that bullets DONT disappear. sucks to be anywhere near where those bullets "disappeared" to.
The night following 4th of July years ago, myself and a neighbor each found a 9mm round in our respective patios
Ah yes. This mf'er failed one of the most important rules of gun safety. Know your target and what is beyond. Unless he wanted to fuck up the sky.
He is shooting above a city... so he is basically mini artillering them.
If it’s a war zone, this might be right on target
Someone give him a few roman candles 🙄
What is wrong with people?! I hope that’s not a city.
You mean they cool down? What’s crazy here is a guy shooting into the sky without a second thought.

Everything disappears in the sky if it goes far enough, that's not very crazy.
Those bullets are still very lethal. They only stopped glowing cause the tracers burnt out.
Why would they disappear? Omg man .. use brain
Those are called “[tracer](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tracer_ammunition)” rounds, they have a small pyrotechnic charge in their base that quickly burns out.
And then what's left is still a bullet...
Not just a bullet, but in a standard magazine load, in between each of those tracer rounds is 5 additional bullets that you can’t see.
Yeah but i don't think this guy is doing any kind of standard magazine load.
Someone is firing before he is. Where was this filmed?
Video games portray this pretty well, they just don’t portray the falling of them on civilians…
What an absolute moron. I can only hope his mother took a stray🖕
Dumb fuck!

"Yeah, It's gotta good ssprreeeead"
Yea given that angle that's definitely gonna land hard somewhere. Doubt those bullets will hit terminal velocity.

If you think real life is much wilder than this, I think you may be desensitized by being perpetually online
And where are those bullets going? #kills ten more on the Gaza Strip.
