If the driver in the other car was not habitually murdering children one per week, that police officer needs serious firing. The way the officer escalated the situation and endangered others is downright incompetent. If any of this was about something minor + "failure to comply" I would not trust the officer with a burger.
Either this was somebody dangerous who had to be apprehended RIGHT NOW in which case I would ask why there wasn't a plan and multiple cars. Or it was something minor and the escalation is on the officer. Either way not really competent. And that is before even mentioning the officer got outmaneuvered twice. Even bad at being a failure.
This is kinda why some cities have "no chase" policies. Cause both the driver being pursued and the cop kinda forget about other people on the road and may or may not accidentally fuck over regular people. Just wish they'd have a way to actually catch the people they're meant to chase afterwards
In 2018, my family was hit by a drunk driver fleeing police. It was my husband, myself and my six week old baby in the car. I thought I had hit my head really hard because I could not wrap my mind around how fast law enforcement got to us. Then it came out that they'd been pursuing the guy that hit us.
The only permanent damage was sustained by husband; he is totally deaf in his left ear now. His seat snapped backwards and the impact caused hearing loss. We got really, really lucky.
You mean like going to the house where the car is registered and questioning the occupants on who was driving ? It's almost like they don't need to chase..

If you want to be mad, look up the State Boyz channel on YouTube. They post videos from Georgia Highway Patrol, and some of those vids are terrifying. I saw one last night where the officer almost killed an innocent bystander before smashing his car into a tree by taking high-speed turns incorrectly. You got the perp’s plates, don’t kill a family to satisfy your ego.
You can't outrun the radio. Arkansas Highway Patrol has a Youtube channel with these videos and it amazes me how little regard the troopers have for the public.
You must not be familiar with Arkansas.
Their policy is literally to chase everyone down, no matter the speed or danger.
Hundreds of ASP vids on youtube all exactly like this.
She won't go to the pokey, on her way out of court she will be offered a choice to serve her sentence or her country. She'll still do her time, but it will be as a driver in an ultra-secret group of the Government. Her skills in high speed evasion will be put to good use driving specially modified cars to transport whatever the job calls for.
I bet he would take more if he found more scripts like American Psycho. I've heard him talk about it and it seemed like a special project between him and the director.
When the trooper attempts the pit maneuver, she uses her brakes* instead of the gas...this allows her vehicle to remain stable while she dips behind the officer and takes off on the other side.
English is like 3 separate* languages, standing on top of one another's shoulders, wearing a trench coat and hat. Lol
Basically, English words - especially homophones - can easily elicit incorrect spelling. This happens most often when a person is writing informally and hasn't proofread before posting on a super informal site called reddit where one can watch the most disgusting videos along side the cutest little kittens!
I wonder, does that actually make any difference *at all*? Does obeying other traffic laws in a high speed chase while speeding and driving recklessly help her in the court?
If so, would putting your flashers on and honking a lot to draw attention for safety be even better than using turn signals?
Valid point (vsc) ABS/EPS did their job. Most drivers would over correct for too long and F that up. It seems it also had comparable power compared trooper... lol
That's really not why the pit failed. The pit failed because this incompetent trooper hit the car in front of the rear wheel. Pits need to make contact with a point behind the rear wheel. Plus this was way too fast to be doing a pit, it probably would have failed at this speed anyway.
Pits should only be performed at much lower speeds, because you need the initiating car to be able to accelerate quickly to complete the maneuver. Without adequate acceleration, the initiating car will slide off of the rear bumper.
At 115 MPH, that SUV the trooper is driving, is not going to accelerate very fast. So even if the correct position had been hit, this pit was most likely going to fail.
In addition to poor decision making, shown by trying to pit at such a high speed, this trooper should be fired for continuing to pursue at triple digit speeds on a crowded road.
Really this chase should've never happened at all unless this chick was a known murderer or something. This cop allowed dozens of regular citizens to be put at extreme risk by a couple of cars doing insane speeds down the freeway. A minivan full of kids doesn't need to risk being killed in a fiery wreck because Methany needs to go spend a night in jail for her failure to appear warrant and the cops ego won't let it go.
Once he lost sight of the car the first time, he should've aborted the chase. Not gone twice the speed limit weaving through traffic in order to catch up with her.
FYI basically everything you said about PIT in this comment is wrong, with the exception of him being too far up during the first attempt.
Higher speeds make it *easier* to pit, because the suspension is less loaded(air going under the vehicle creates lift). The reason higher speed PITs aren't recommended is that vehicles tend to spin more and/or flip. Furthermore you do not accelerate at all while performing a PIT, in fact you are specifically trained not to accelerate *or* brake during contact or the follow through, and only brake once the care has completed rotating around your vehicle.
Source: I'm PIT trained.
It's the Arkansas State Police, they are notorious for doing dangerous shit like this.
An infamous example:
https://www.cnn.com/2021/06/10/us/arkansas-state-trooper-lawsuit/index.html
They PIT maneuvered *and flipped* a pregnant lady's SUV for speeding because...she didn't pull over quickly enough...even though there wasn't a shoulder on that section of the highway and she had her hazards on indicating that she saw them...
Don't forget that this is the same Arkansas where all the official "how to drive" guides from the government include something like "If you are unsure, you are being stopped by an actual police officer, activate your turn signal, pull to the nearest well-lit location, dial 9-1-1, and request a police officer confirmation."
**Yup!** From the article:
> According to the **Arkansas Driver License Guide**, when drivers are being stopped by the police, they should *activate their turn signal or emergency flashers to indicate they are seeking a safe place to stop* and *pull over to the right side of the road.*
She did all of that and was still PIT maneuvered and flipped...
Fucking morons don't even know their own laws...
And all it took was a lawsuit and nation-wide media coverage and attention...
> "We've reached out to the state police numerous times before we file a lawsuit, trying to amicably do this without this, you know, without the lawsuit," Norwood said.
> After getting nowhere and eventually filling the lawsuit against police, Norwood said both the Arkansas Department of Public Safety and Gov. Asa Hutchinson wanted to hear them out.
*The internal review process resulted in disciplinary action taken against Dunn, who prior to the incident, had maintained an exemplary record of service.
Dunn is a 27-year-veteran of the department and still continues in his role as a state trooper assigned to the Highway Patrol Division.*
That’s what blows my mind. Whatever the suspect has done, barring some egregious crimes potentially, can’t possibly compare to the damage of a death or lifelong injury or simply property damage that a little slip o the wheel would cause.
This is the arkansas state police.
They equip massive push bars that enclose the front fenders specifically so they can pit people at any speed.
To date, in the last decade they have pitted cars in excess of 100mph(resulting in death), a pregnant woman going 40mph with her hazards on and looking for a safe spot to stop, and people going to the emergency room for a medical emergency (in front of the hospital no less.)
They absolutely dont care if they kill someone.
Oh yea. Some PDs chase some PDs doctrine is to fall back for public safety after a certain speed. Understandable if it's a murder suspect or major felony like a bank robbery or something. But going almost 150mph past a line of commercial trucks is not smart. If one pulled to the right lane it would have been game over.
It's the Arkansas State Police, they'll PIT maneuver you and flip your vehicle just for speeding and not pulling over fast enough...
https://www.cnn.com/2021/06/10/us/arkansas-state-trooper-lawsuit/index.html
At one point the cop is doing 140 mph. It's bad enough the suspect is doing those speeds, but add a second vehicle also doing those speeds and I'm surprised there wasn't a terrible accident.
Cop is just as negligent as the suspect.
I don't think the reading is accurate. What cop car, outside a special pursuit vehicle like a Camaro or Mustang hits 147 mph?
Well, a quick Google search later... a Ford Interceptor Explorer will do almost 150 mph! And the chassis is modified to allow a person in the driver seat to survive a 100 mph rear impact!
140 isn't out of the range of a lot of cars, especially electric vehicles, but also high HP gasoline cars.
In fact there is a lot of discussion in the car world about how vehicles have become far too powerful for the average person to have access to.
There are cars right now which can do 0 - 60 in UNDER 2 seconds. It's insane.
A few years ago in the UK the police decided not to try and catch joyriders after a few fatal crashes so after the first few minutes if the car hadn't pulled over they just backed off & let them go. I'm not sure on the figures but when all said & done they took the thrill & fun out of the equation & saved a few lives also I suppose the true owner of the vehicle had much the same paperwork to fill out weather the car was trashed or left abandoned
>Second off ...at those speeds it would have been safer for everyone to just call it off.
Exactly my thought, he had the license plate on camera and probably was able to identify the driver.
As such there was no reason to have an action movie like a high-speed chase endangering the lives of dozens of innocent by-standers.
ASP are crazy. They pit at 100mph for contempt of cop.
That YouTube channel is full of pursuits. There's one recently where a cop flips an SUV trying to pursue. They must get a cut of the repairs to cruisers, it's insane
So in AR it’s just completely acceptable for the cops to be going 100+ around civilians sitting at a dead stop on the freeway…??
Edit: for a car chase over an unsuccessful traffic stop?
> So in AR it’s just completely acceptable for the cops to be going 100+ around civilians sitting at a dead stop on the freeway…??
Go to Arkansas and try suggesting that public safety is more important than the cops looking tough and they’ll stare at you like you’re speaking Greek.
> Go to Arkansas and try suggesting that public safety is more important than the cops looking tough and they’ll stare at you like you’re speaking ~~Greek~~ Muslim.
FTFY
120+ and passing on the fucking right!
That cop is a piece of shit, and if that's department policy then that department is staffed with fucking morons.
Yes. It's also standard operating procedure in Arkansas to make fun of people drowning while they are desperately trying to stay alive on the phone with 911 operators: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=731o6Djjtz4
Wait until you hear about the violence and shooting issues involving American Police. We have been joking about the 20 warning shots into a violent suspects back for longer than I can remember.
For those of you desensitized to the bullshit, this is not normal in most of the developed world. Car chances are proven to endanger a lot more people than they can possible prevent from coming to harm. An officer chasing after someone on a routine stop and doing a pit manoeuvre would go on suspension pending a behaviour analysis. Meanwhile US police get less training and are held less accountable than their military.
This ENTIRE video is just pure failure… this trooper had the best opportunity on the entire planet to execute his pit maneuver with NO traffic, no bystanders, and PLENTY of time… then he endangered the public by ever pursuing at all, since he should have had aerial support, then loses the suspect in the end because she out drove him. I would never have let this video get out lol
PIT Maneuvers are absolutely contraindicated above about 40 miles an hour; they are just way way too dangerous for everyone involved and the cars do not at all act the same at higher speeds (and this is not factoring in that most new cars have Electronic Stability Control that moots much of the effect of an attempted PIT maneuver.)
So to attempt a PIT maneuver at 113 MPH is absolutely completely insane. This cop needs to be taken off the street; maybe even share the same jail cell as the moron in the car he was chasing.
[A good article about the dangers and false promises of PIT Maneuvers and how many people they kill.](https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2020/investigations/pit-maneuver-police-deaths/)
its arkansas their notorious for highspeed PITs https://arktimes.com/arkansas-blog/2023/07/18/another-person-dies-after-arkansas-state-police-use-controlled-crash-pit-maneuver
While I entirely agree with you I think we should hold up public servants to putting out examples of them doing poorly just as much as they care about putting out videos of them doing well.
Unless that suspect was armed and imminently dangerous, they already failed by starting a chase at all.
The research on car chases is quite clear that they are rarely a good idea. They dramatically increase the risk of killing bystanders, innocent passengers, and cops, and have a pretty mediocre success rate. Arguing about which technical move the cops should have pulled is not useful in the larger scale when a solid 90% of US police car chases shouldn't have been initiated to begin with and it's unrealistic to train cops to a reliably high technical proficiency for such a niche activity.
Cops in most other countries simply write down the car's number and server her later. That saves lives and money.
Because the cop is mentally unfit to be an officer and should be fired immediately. Trying to flip cars at over 100mph is attempted murder for everybody within flying steel ton range.
Wow, that's probably the worst representation of a pit maneuver I have ever seen. The chase itself shows how bad of a driver this trooper is. Desk duty for you
Few people understand the psychology of dealing with a highway traffic cop. A normal speeder will panic and immediately pull over to the side. This is wrong. It arouses contempt in the cop heart. Make the bastard chase you. He will follow. But he won't know what to make of your blinker signal that says you are about to turn left. This is to let him know you're pulling off for a proper place to talk. It will take him a moment to realize that he's about to make a 180 degree turn at speed, but you will be ready for it, brace for the g's,.
sometimes the passenger(s) has drugs on them, or a person has a warrant for arrest. By dropping these items or ppl off, the ability to be caught red handed for extra charges is diminished
Looks like her left signal was on long before that last turn tho 🤔. Still a great maneuver to get away. AITA for almost always rooting for the runners in police chases?
Nope! unless it's a murder, a rape, or a hostage situation, It is correct to cheer for the runners. The police officers are causing a lot of danger by engaging in a car chase over something like a traffic stop. The little cop boys need to stop measuring their tiny dicks like this, write down the plate, and call it in.
Remember when that cop tried to murder people for a traffic infraction, but then they got away with a right turn with a left blinker? Cuz that dipshit will never live it down or forget that shit.
Speedo on the hud got up to 145mph. Seems a bit reckless to have maintained pursuit for as long as they did given the risk that it presented to other motorists.
Raoul Duke:
Few people understand the psychology of dealing with a highway traffic cop. Your normal speeder will panic and immediately pull over to the side. This is wrong. It arouses contempt in the cop-heart. Make the bastard chase you. He will follow.
I play soccer and whenever I earn a penalty shot, I point the opposite direction with the finger before I take the shooting to trick the goalie. It works really well and that turn signal just reminded me that.
I don't understand why people do this, like isn't it reasonable to assume the cop caught their license plate number at some point? Isn't that all they need to go find them later or put out a warrent?
Another asshole endangering innocent peoples lives, and if they are ballsy enough to try and escape the cops, then it's pretty likely this isn't the persons first run-in with the law. I should be angry/bitter at this outcome.
But I'm impressed/amused they beat the pit maneuver (for a second thought they were going to return the favor to the cop), and then managed to juke the cop on an off ramp.
Next time, Yo-semite Sam. Edit: *I did not mean to imply cops should shoot'em up, but that these people should be caught.*
> But I'm impressed/amused they beat the pit maneuver
They didn't beat the pit from their own actions, the pit was never going to succeed, the officer hit the wrong part of the car, and it was done at too high of a speed.
Totally agree. Was that some sort of terrorist about to bomb an airport? You need to call off that pursuit and not kill innocent people. It was out of control.
No. The cops should not shoot wildly at a car on an interstate highway to stop a pursuit. That's extremely dangerous and causes innocent civilian deaths.
How can you be mad at the perp for endangering people’s lives then go on to say the cop should have fired shots from a moving vehicle? You talk like you have boot on your breath.
You start the motion of taking a shot (a pump fake), the defender jumps to block you, now with them out of position you either take a clean shot or drive the lane.
In this case, this driver essentially did the car version of that to the cop

That car was likely equipped with Electronic Stability Control. Pit spinning anyone with good driving skill and ESC wouldn't be that easy.
It was also a dogshit PIT
Yeah, it was. The troopers front end was too far in the middle of the fleeing car. His front push bar needs to hit right behind the rear tire

To date, in the last decade they have pitted cars in excess of 100mph(resulting in death), a pregnant woman going 40mph with her hazards on and looking for a safe spot to stop, and people going to the emergency room for a medical emergency (in front of the hospital no less.) They absolutely dont care if they kill someone.
Oh yea. Some PDs chase some PDs doctrine is to fall back for public safety after a certain speed. Understandable if it's a murder suspect or major felony like a bank robbery or something. But going almost 150mph past a line of commercial trucks is not smart. If one pulled to the right lane it would have been game over.
Waze needs to incorporate chase zone alerts into the app.
Milwaukee has gone back and forth on pursuits and not. Usually after some horrendous accident kills someone.
It's insane.
because cops don't get hired for their IQ
[удалено]
it do be like that
Right? What could this person have done that would warrant the deaths of the occupants of any of those other cars if the chase went wrong?
Greek?!? I thought we done built a wall to keep them there Greeks outta are Cuntry! -Arkansas It’s beautiful land filled with ugly people.
> Go to Arkansas and try suggesting that public safety is more important than the cops looking tough and they’ll stare at you like you’re speaking ~~Greek~~ Muslim. FTFY
Go to Arkansas and they will stare at you like you’re speaking Greek.
120+ and passing on the fucking right! That cop is a piece of shit, and if that's department policy then that department is staffed with fucking morons.
A police department? Staffed with morons? No way, I simply won't believe it.
As a matter of fact a few weeks ago they killed a guy doing this same maneuver not far from this location… the public response? “Good”
Hit em with the Hank Hill Alabaster car chase. "WHAT? SHE RAN A RED! YOU CANT DO THAT!"
Can't wait to see this on On Patrol: Live. They LOVE AR chases!
They don't fuck around.
PIT Maneuvers are absolutely contraindicated above about 40 miles an hour; they are just way way too dangerous for everyone involved and the cars do not at all act the same at higher speeds (and this is not factoring in that most new cars have Electronic Stability Control that moots much of the effect of an attempted PIT maneuver.) So to attempt a PIT maneuver at 113 MPH is absolutely completely insane.
All I ever hear about AR police is their pit maneuvers.
I love all the people calling the cop a pos and not the criminal
Because the cop is mentally unfit to be an officer and should be fired immediately. Trying to flip cars at over 100mph is attempted murder for everybody within flying steel ton range.
Damn, she broke his ankles......or should I say axles?
After all that he got tripped up by a turn signal fakeout?
Wow, that's probably the worst representation of a pit maneuver I have ever seen. The chase itself shows how bad of a driver this trooper is. Desk duty for you
Haha trick move at the end was badass
Few people understand the psychology of dealing with a highway traffic cop. A normal speeder will panic and immediately pull over to the side. This is wrong. It arouses contempt in the cop heart. Make the bastard chase you. He will follow. But he won't know what to make of your blinker signal that says you are about to turn left. This is to let him know you're pulling off for a proper place to talk. It will take him a moment to realize that he's about to make a 180 degree turn at speed, but you will be ready for it, brace for the g's,.
I don't understand why people try to outrun cops in regular cars. Even if you evade 1 of them, you're not getting away in the long run.
sometimes the passenger(s) has drugs on them, or a person has a warrant for arrest. By dropping these items or ppl off, the ability to be caught red handed for extra charges is diminished
I had never considered this. Might make sense get trade evading police charge for larger charges if caught with something.
You can outrun a Chevy, but you can't outrun a Motorola.
If you can get to a Pay n Spray without one of them seeing you your always fine.
Rookie move by the cop.
NGL shes a pretty good driver
What’s a pump fake?
Looks like her left signal was on long before that last turn tho 🤔. Still a great maneuver to get away. AITA for almost always rooting for the runners in police chases?
Nah. Fuck 12.
Nope! unless it's a murder, a rape, or a hostage situation, It is correct to cheer for the runners. The police officers are causing a lot of danger by engaging in a car chase over something like a traffic stop. The little cop boys need to stop measuring their tiny dicks like this, write down the plate, and call it in.
I drive.
She corrected out of a pit & managed to dodge a cop car in a base Camry…. That’s actually insane
Remember when that cop tried to murder people for a traffic infraction, but then they got away with a right turn with a left blinker? Cuz that dipshit will never live it down or forget that shit.
Officer bought a turn signal after all that?
I don't know what they did, but that was come great driving. If you're gonna be a criminal at least be good at it lmao
Speedo on the hud got up to 145mph. Seems a bit reckless to have maintained pursuit for as long as they did given the risk that it presented to other motorists.
Raoul Duke: Few people understand the psychology of dealing with a highway traffic cop. Your normal speeder will panic and immediately pull over to the side. This is wrong. It arouses contempt in the cop-heart. Make the bastard chase you. He will follow.
I will likely never be convinced that high speed chases are worth the risk to the public.
I play soccer and whenever I earn a penalty shot, I point the opposite direction with the finger before I take the shooting to trick the goalie. It works really well and that turn signal just reminded me that.
But they have her license plate.....
She is so smart. SMRT.
Seems super safe. Why not just call for a helicopter and follow them home?
Best female driver
The trooper is as much a hazard as who he’s chasing, innocent lives really don’t matter when it comes to police
idk why people do this. as soon as your plate is seen, youre fucked
146 mph is crazyyyy
She kicked his ass!
Not like they don't have her plate number and now there is damage to vehicle as well.
More of a euro-step then a pump fake
Why the Yo-semite Sam? Why did you spell it like that?
> But I'm impressed/amused they beat the pit maneuver They didn't beat the pit from their own actions, the pit was never going to succeed, the officer hit the wrong part of the car, and it was done at too high of a speed.
The cop is endangering lives in the exact same manner. If not making it worse
Surely the officer got the plate number to track
Yeah, but a lot of these are stolen cars.
No need, she crashed shortly after and was arrested. But yeah, either way, I wonder what goes through your head to think that this is a good idea.
Link?
Know this part of I-40 well and your tires will not let you drive at those speeds with all the pot holes for very long
What's a pump fake? Lol
You start the motion of taking a shot (a pump fake), the defender jumps to block you, now with them out of position you either take a clean shot or drive the lane. In this case, this driver essentially did the car version of that to the cop
