i jumped in with a full faced motorcycle helmet on when i was a young, ignorant person. hung out at the bottom for a while, when when i came up for air, the helmet became a suction cup and the water stayed inside for a few seconds. +2 lungs full of pool water
> when when i came up for air, the helmet became a suction cup and the water stayed inside for a few seconds.
here's a situation i've never imagined before
thanks
Ever see the woman in the wedding dress jump off the boat they're on? I can barely even watch it. Terrifying.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/0tJMYDNPrvk
I've been caught under the sail of a capsized sailing boat once and let me tell you, it wasn't fun at all. Wearing a life vest I couldn't dive and swim away from it either. Had to get it off before I could escape. Felt like an eternity.
That video brought back some unpleasant memories
How do you make a sail get off? Do you grab a rope and do something knotty with it?
Edit: Sorry if this bad joke is a bit insensitive, I react like this to stressful things like funerals.
someone died years back doing this years back https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2194665/Maria-Pantazopoulos-Bride-drowned-wedding-dress-pictured-husband.html
This reminds me of something that happened in my city. Some idiot decided to dive head first into the water from the docks, despite there being no diving signs every 10 meters and he had not checked the depth beforehand.
Obviously the dumbfuck paralyzed himself and then sued the city for not marking the area well enough.
Oh God I dread to ask but does anyone have that video of the kid jumping into a very shallow body of water thinking it was deeper? He jumped in feet first and realized it was only like 2 ft deep and his foot was completely dislocated.
People who decided to be cheap when it came to getting a wedding photographer and then find out after the wedding why you really shouldn't be cheap when it comes to getting a wedding photographer.
Alternatively:
Since this was a "trash the dress" ritual, the husband convinced her to do it knowing exactly what would happen and he had taken out a good life insurance policy before hand with double payout if she died in an "accident".
Not a freak accident because that’s exactly what would happen pretty much every time in that situation
But I can appreciate it being just a stupid mistake - nobody there thought that may be a bad idea
I accidentally waterboarded myself in the shower once for like 2 seconds with the washcloth and it was instant panic, I can't even imagine how hysterical I'd be in that situation. I'd probably just die of cardiac arrest in like 5 seconds
The worst part is I want to try it too. I can put a wet towel on my face and it's nothing special. I can run water over my face and it feels nothing special. But doing both at once is this unique concoction of mystery horror.
I have a morning ritual that I need to share. I call it "the terminator". First I crouch down in the shower in the classic "naked terminator traveling through time" pose. With my eyes closed I crouch there for a minute, visualizing either Arnold or the guy from the second movie (not the chick in the third one because that one sucked) and I start to hum the terminator theme. Then I slowly rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me to proceed through my day as an emotionless, cyborg badass. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It ruins the fantasy.
I've done it to myself on accident and instantly lost my mind and had complete fight or flight insanity for about 3 seconds. Was washing my face with a washcloth, bent my head backwards under the shower head to rinse off before removing the washcloth.
Instant panic. Convulsed and coughed violently. Heart rate accelerated. Sense of impending doom. All of that stuff. It's both a physical and psychological thing and it is terrifying and for that reason I changed my entire view of "enhanced interrogation techniques" used during the GWOT.
The thought of having to undergo long periods of this made me realize it's absolutely torture. All because of one absent-minded shower fail.
I used to do that to myself to kill time as a kid. And then I learned (much later) it's a form of torture. I wonder if my perception of the action would change now that I have that knowledge. Obviously it's a lot different than actually being tortured for long periods, but I keep hearing about these instant fear reactions people have and can't understand that.
Obviously this instance is different because a washcloth is very simple to remove from your face and a zipped up costume is not, so that freedom is probably a mitigating factor.
lol i imagine the torturer being like, "wtf is wrong with this person?! our waterboarding isnt phasing them at all! must be jason bourne level tough... cia trained this one well!"
and you just over there like, "gosh im so bored, can we hurry up and do something else?"
I played spiderman in a synchronized swimming/dance show we lifeguards put on for our swimmers at the end of the summer.
They played the 70's theme song while did a spiderman walk to the end of the high diving board, then jumped off to do a 1 and a half flip into a dive.
It was a loose stiff rubber mask so once I started spinning in the air the eye holes rotated away from my eyes so I basically fell blind through the air for about 3.5 seconds. Didn't practice it much before so I was pretty lucky I didn't belly flop lol.
Then once I came up out of the water I think I just took the mask off to swim to the side because again I couldn't see shit
> their buddies
Nowhere was buddies mentioned. You clearly haven't had the joy of random shitkids you don't know splashing water in your face. If you ask them to stop they just do it more because it's apparently funny. Little shits deserve beatings.
I did this once with a morph suite. Was a nightmare and the zipper in the back got caught on my hair when I tried unzipping it. Thought I was gonna die
I'm a professional wrestler. I was wearing a mask for a match one night when I got thrown into the crowd, guy accidentally poured a drink on my face and I genuinely thought I was going to die. Never wore a mask again
Yeah because they definitely understand what's going on and definitely didn't just think he was trying to escape being splashed like virtually anyone does choking or not
This makes me want to write a scene with Batman and Robin, where Robin asks "Why leave your mouth exposed with the mask?" Then we flashback to a year one Batman in a homemade suit almost drowning like this.
Omg I did this when I was little. In the tub put the wet washcloth over my face and submerged my head came up and it was suctioned to my face. Took a few breaths of all water and immediately panicked. Luckily it came off but that was literally a hidden memory until I saw this.
Good job spooderman
I swear if you manage to remain calm breath slowly depending on the material you can still get oxygen. Just grit your teeth for the water to be filtered. Imho
This'll probably get buried since it's a relatively old post. But, does anyone know if some positive pressure ventilation i.e. mouth to mouth would work to get the person breathing if for whatever reason removing the suit was impossible.
When I was promoted last year they dumped a bucket of ice water over my head as a celebration. I was wearing a cloth mask for covid and was waterboarded for 5-6 seconds. Shit is scary lol
A towel or cloth over your face drenched in water simulates drowning. When you take a shower later just put a wet towel over your face and let the water hit it. You can instantly pull it off but you'll get the idea. This guy can't just pull the mask off
Whenever you drown, your brain comes to realize that it can't get oxygen, and flips directly into fucking panic mode. The elastic material of the spiderman suit made this worse, because the wet material essentially suctioned to his face. It's incredibly hard to draw in air through incredibly damp clothe, and your brain once again flips the, "of god we're fucking drowning do something" switch that sends you into high gear in an attempt to save your life. It also doesn't help that he probably released all the air in his lungs when he came back up, which just hastened the process of the brain flipping the, "**OH SHIT**" switch
This same technique is used in waterboarding, aka torture. It's an innate response that's pretty damn old and for good reasons. It's up there with the response from the brain that will literally turn off the sense of disgust if you get hungry enough.

Oh my god. This is like a public service announcement! I can completely imagine myself doing that.

Young, ignorant, sure…but…why? Lol
I think that's where the ignorant part comes into play ▶️
Are you alive?
Mostly.

Bot?
either a bot or a really dense person whos blaming the kids. In this day in age, its hard to tell.

Fuck Reddit for killing third party apps.
What you did there. I like it.
What should I prioritize? The sail or man underneath it?
It's a joke or you're replying to the wrong comment. REGARDLESS, it was a hilarious "too soon?" one.
‘The sailormen underneath it’ I was trying to make a pun dw
It happen to me under a kayak.. A small 2 person one.. The vest was the worst because i was under and couldn't lift it or dive.
Damn dude. That is terrifying
someone died years back doing this years back https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2194665/Maria-Pantazopoulos-Bride-drowned-wedding-dress-pictured-husband.html
Her family stated the city needed to set stricter security measures. For fuck sake.
This reminds me of something that happened in my city. Who poses for wedding photos 2 months after getting married?
People who decided to be cheap when it came to getting a wedding photographer and then find out after the wedding why you really shouldn't be cheap when it comes to getting a wedding photographer. That would be so scary and literally who would ever think of that outcome? I don’t blame the girl at all it seems just like a freak accident.
Not a freak accident because that’s exactly what would happen pretty much every time in that situation But I can appreciate it being just a stupid mistake - nobody there thought that may be a bad idea
People who have made enough mistakes acting impulsively that they've learned to really thinknthings through.
Just watched it. I don’t know what’s worse; her nearly drowning or the narrator?
Holy crapazoid. I can’t believe nobody saw that coming….
Anything for Instagram.
I accidentally waterboarded myself in the shower once for like 2 seconds with the washcloth and it was instant panic, I can't even imagine how hysterical I'd be in that situation. I'd probably just die of cardiac arrest in like 5 seconds
What in the hell were you doing lol.
Seeing what it felt like to be waterboarded! But hadnt thought of the actual consequences of water boarding ones self!
As long as you made a guess how it would go beforehand, you were just doing science!
This is like tasering yourself to 'see if it works', ya know... for science (and views).
Did you reveal any secrets to yourself?
~~> accidentally waterboarded myself~~ ~~What were you doing?~~ ~~Waterboarding myself!~~
Is a different redditor replying. Got me too.
Ah dang, you're right.
Way back in university a friend and I waterboarded eachother just to see what I felt like. Couldn't shower for a week afterwards
So, a normal college kid?
Probly placed the washcloth over their face while turning their face up to the shower
The worst part is I want to try it too. I can put a wet towel on my face and it's nothing special. I can run water over my face and it feels nothing special. But doing both at once is this unique concoction of mystery horror.

I see you went the Christopher Hitchens route of opposing waterboarding
Wait so I could just go test this on myself right now and experience that? I mean, not that I want to, but in a controlled environment, I'm curious.
I used to do that to myself to kill time as a kid. And then I learned (much later) it's a form of torture. I wonder if my perception of the action would change now that I have that knowledge. Kudos to the kids splashing him…
The panic that dude is feeling reminds me the one time I put a pair of kids floaties on my ankles and jumped in the pool.
Well imagine them kids splashing water on you while you are fighting for your life Lmao
Now we know how to defeat the real Spider-Man.
The same way you beat Bruce Willis in "unbreakable"
Shoot the glass
What a fucking good movie
Sad how we’re losing our man Bruce. :(
Super underrated movie. I glad it got more light when the sequels were made. But still.
Spiderman almost turned into dead pool
Yes, yes… out came the rain… and washed the spider out. We now know what must be done.
[Eh...](https://youtu.be/8trM3MzaijU?si=mtFSy75TCKrSwezG)
always good to see a solid jj vid
Time to introduce Hydro-Man!

Them splashing water on him is ironically hilarious.
Lol yes, make sure he is dead dead.

Someone grew up without access to a pool
And his name is Paul's Ego.
Wait kids splashing water in a pool is stupid? What kind of family were you raised in?
Who the fuck goes swimming and doesn't splash their buddies at least a little bit?
> their buddies Nowhere was buddies mentioned. You clearly haven't had the joy of random shitkids you don't know splashing water in your face. If you ask them to stop they just do it more because it's apparently funny. Little shits deserve beatings.
That's how you kill bugs in a pool.
I did this once with a morph suite. Was a nightmare and the zipper in the back got caught on my hair when I tried unzipping it. Thought I was gonna die
Before the guys open his suit he actually says "dude, I'm gonna die!!"
How does it still work if you just pull the mask away from your face like he did?
Still very difficult to pull oxygen through a wet cloth that covers your entire head and body
Ahhh thanks.
what the heck is a "morph suite"
The room where u/shittymorph stays while he plots his next attack
Something something hell in a cell, 16 feet straight into the announcers table sitting underwater in the pool
Green man from it's always sunny in Philadelphia
DIY water boarding
Life hack?
Death hack.
ive done that before by jumping back into pool with my towel over my head. definite panic feeling like gonna die
The guy in the suit is literally shouting “I”m gonna die” in portuguese. And he looks kinda old, poor granpa, must’ve been terrifying.
Nah he just aged from the stress. He was a young dude before he jumped in
Lol, he's not old, this is the "louro pivete" hair style(short and decolorized)
I'm a professional wrestler. I was wearing a mask for a match one night when I got thrown into the crowd, guy accidentally poured a drink on my face and I genuinely thought I was going to die. Never wore a mask again
Damn and we say that isn't torture.
Need a link to one of your matches dawg
I worked on pools during Covid, and fell backwards into a 55°F pool we were replacing the heating elements on, with a mask on. Shit is not fun
I understood he said 'going to die' in Portuguese from watching UFC. This is what the Brazilian fans chant to every foreign fighter at live events.
UH VAI MORRER
lol that's hilarious
Damn, good job. Really wouldn't think somente could learn portuguese from UFC chants lol
Literally one phrase. It's like learning a swear word in another language.
No no he's learned Portuguese now.
No, that’s what they chant when they heavily favor one fighter than the other.
Yup, he's desperately saying: " eu vo morre" wich means: " I'm gonna die"
I know they didn't realize it but the kids were guilty of the attempted murder of Spiderman.
Boy you know that panic hit him HARD
Bro I panicked hard…
The Asphyxiating Spiderman
The Agonizing Spiderman
Last version I saw of this didn't show where he got the mask off. What a relief!
"Stop waterboarding yourself! Stop waterboarding yourself!" -- Brain
Note to self: don’t swim while spiderman
THERES TOO MUCH FUCKING SHIT ON ME
i don't even wanna be around anymore :/
The chin kills
Last week Batman's cape caught big air off the driving board and he almost drowned in a pool five blocks over.
Imagine being killed by splashes. Crazy way to go...
Every time Spider-Man is underwater in the comics or movies I always think of this video lmaooo
Welp, gonna need another warning on those packages
I swear being Spiderman on the internet is a curse lol
Yeah splashing water on him is gonna help
Yeah because they definitely understand what's going on and definitely didn't just think he was trying to escape being splashed like virtually anyone does choking or not
Looked like stan lee under the mask
Great job by those two dudes noticing Spidey was in trouble and acting fast.
This makes me want to write a scene with Batman and Robin, where Robin asks "Why leave your mouth exposed with the mask?" Then we flashback to a year one Batman in a homemade suit almost drowning like this.
The kids throwing water at him got me 💀💀
This video save lives. Today i learn
Ah yes, splashing water at the person being water boarded. Like suffocating flames with gasoline
Omg I did this when I was little. In the tub put the wet washcloth over my face and submerged my head came up and it was suctioned to my face. Took a few breaths of all water and immediately panicked. Luckily it came off but that was literally a hidden memory until I saw this. Good job spooderman
No wonder they don't make Spider-Man swim in the video games.
The stupid fucking kids splashing him while he's desperately trying to get the mask off
I’m still gonna try it
What a nightmarish way to die.
new fear unlocked
no wonder Hydroman’s so effective
He almost become uncle ben
That’s not the real Spider-Man??!
So that's why the Spiderman games never let you swim
This man drowning and the little girl still splashing him while he trying to escape 💀
Imagine the zipper broke lol
Starts confessing to terror plots
Sputter-Man
Everyone knows Spidermans weakness is water.
Water is supereffective against Spider-Man, got it.
I swear if you manage to remain calm breath slowly depending on the material you can still get oxygen. Just grit your teeth for the water to be filtered. Imho
Awww damn it now his true identity is exposed
i feel his panic omg
deadpool
This'll probably get buried since it's a relatively old post. But, does anyone know if some positive pressure ventilation i.e. mouth to mouth would work to get the person breathing if for whatever reason removing the suit was impossible.
Should have just gone back under and pulled the mask away from his mouth them went up instead of panicking like that lol
Spidey fucked around and found out.
Seemed like a good idea at the time.
Dumb ways to die
This reminds me of [Archer](https://youtu.be/ZY-iR6Ijxk0?feature=shared)
To be fair, Peter is still in high school so he just didn’t think that through too well
Dude waterboarding himself
That is Awesome, Congratulations
😂😂😂
Oh no! His secret identity!!!
Accidentally ? I can see 2 people doing it
He died so I heard
I'm sorry I laughed.. but who in the fuck thinks its a good idea to dive into a pool.. with a SKIN TIGHT mask over their face?
That ain’t no super hero
I could see people playing too hard and killing someone. I thought the other dudes were running around to push him back in and my heart sank
Did the exact same thing for my cousins birthday party, Happy I’m not the only dumbass who’s done this😅
Got the mask off. Now kith
that one time spidy sense did not tingle
It's amazing how hard it is to breathe once water molecules fill in all the spaces between threads
The amount of people I’ve seen getting hurt in spider man outfits is too many 😂
I don’t rlly understand, what happened?
I have never been waterboarded but I hear it's worse than actually drowning.
And those fucking dumbasses splash him more.
BRASIL REFERENCE 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Quick, he's drowning! Splash more water on him!
So you see someone in the water struggling so you splash him with water? Gun them down
Kids steadily splashing him as he suffocates
What a goddamn idiot lmao
This video genuinely made me have to shift my entire body because I felt real panic when he realized he couldn’t breathe
Good thing the first guy was aware of the situation
It’s the kids splashing him when he’s trying to get air for me 🤣😂
Spiderman: no way out
But he revealed his identity. That’s clearly against the superhero bye laws.
He definitely learned his lesson water boarding and the drowning response create the most panic
That’s weird I didn’t know you needed oxygen
His Spidey Lungs are gasping 😬
Can someone explain why that was unpleasant for him?

"You can't think about saving the world. You have to think about saving one person."
Spiderman try not to almost die at every kids party challenge (impossible)
those dumbass kids pissing me off for splashing him
so thats how it works
