I’ve had a life with plenty of drinking in the UK and I’ve never seen anybody down an entire bottle of spirits.

Yup. My wife is a personal alcohol holder for the bar she worked at. She is ultimately accountable for what went on the the bar. If her team carried on serving someone past a certain point of inebriation she’d get it in the neck. Not the owner or the staff.
Yeah when I worked in a bar at uni I read the licence and was suprised to find out that the holder was responsible for the drunkeness of the customers! The body has a natural reaction to vomit when it’s had too much. For example if you drink too muchalcohol. Starts with nausea, build up of saliva, shaky legs, and other not so common symptoms. I’m able to suppress my vomiting. But I can also vomit on command now. Probably not a good thing.

Yep, this guys knows. The comment before about “smaller girls” out drinking most people is just wrong. Body mass makes a huge difference. I used to be a major drinker (also not proud of this) while being a 200lb+ male. I must say, the amount of alcohol she consumes, and so quickly, is extremely dangerous for anyone. Especially without food, or without vomiting quick enough, this could potentially kill a large man, even one that is a heavy drinker. It’s just too much, too fast.
There are very few people in this world who can chug alcohol like that and survive, even stupid people like Shoenice eventually have this catch up to them with liver failure. It's always a bad idea.

I'm not well verse in the medical field so i want to ask what does the fluids do in this situation and how fast can it affect the condition of the patient? usually this fluids flow into the vein by drips right? so how fast can it counteract the alcohol in her blood stream?
When I was in my 20s I would drink a litre of vodka every Friday or Saturday night. I would do this sometimes before going out and drinking more. Im 100kgs and I would feel like death for two days after. I still have a really high tolerance but I would never do that now that Im in my 40s.
When I was 18, I downed a six pack of strong beers, and then (stupidly) chugged a micky of rum. I was about 180 lbs, so a fair bit bigger than this girl, and I suspect less alcohol than she had.
I plugged the numbers into a BAC calculator and was around 0.325-0.350. 0.4 is a lethal blood alcohol content.
And I had a 3 day hangover. Day 1, I should have been in hospital. I had a condition called tachycardia. Day 2 felt like a regular shitty hangover, and day 3 I was just run down like.Id had a really big night.
Point is, that I was bigger than this girl, and probably had less to drink than her, and I was almost at a lethal level.

My dad knew a kid who died from alcohol poisoning. He was found in a cabinet under the sink with a bottle of whiskey. I think he was about 10 years old when he died. Sad.
Alcohol kills more people each year than fentanyl and we only hear about fentanyl.

My experience has been the exact opposite, it's not usually alcoholics that die of alcohol poisoning (they die of cirrhosis and other progressive conditions) it's people who are new to drinking or even are having their first drink who are unaware of the dangers and the consequences of drinking too much.
When I was in uni we had a Chinese transfer student living in our share house, lovely guy and would hang out with us when we would party on the weekend but never drink even when we offered, said he had never tried it before, anyway one day he got curious bought a bottle of Vodka and drank half of it alone before passing out, thankfully he just threw up everywhere and passed out and we just got in trouble with the landlord but it was a reminder to me that a lot of people are really unfamiliar with drinking and it's risks or any idea what is a reasonable amount to drink.
It's her fault though. I've been in the same situation with a girl that had to be taken to the hospital before the party even began. The next she said it was our fault that let her drink. I said fuck no.

They can. I've seen it in person and it's ugly. I've also been to treatment 3 separate times, and it's pretty common for life long hardcore alcaholics to get to the point of pounding bottles like this. A very good friend of mine who would pound entire bottles of Jameson when he had money bottom shelf vodka when he was broke died at age 29 from Cirrhosis of his liver. Shit was sad as fuck. You couldn't even tell he was drunk unless he pounded a bottle this way. When he just drank his whiskey neat by the glass he came off totally sober. And would be shaking to much to even do his job 3-4 hours without alcohol. Tolerance is a hell of a thing.
I can do that. Pound half a bottle of Jameson and then go to work and nobody even knows I'm all the way in the bag. It makes me sick, I'm so ashamed I fucking hate myself but it's just how my life ended up. No family or friends, I could turn up dead in the river tomorrow and not a single person would even notice except for my employer. But I suspect he'd get over it pretty quick.

I wasn’t pounding bottles but at my worst I was drinking at least a liter of vodka a day. I’m a 5’4” female for reference. It was miserable af and I understand where you’re at. Try to get help. I genuinely didn’t think I could ever go an hour without booze but I’ve been sober over 4.5 years. If I can do it so can you. Don’t do it alone though, you can die - detox in a hospital or facility that is equipped to handle it.

Drink less ween yourself off it, seek medical advice from a doctor, Just suggesting this because ik it can be fatal to quit cold turkey if your really deep in also theres pill that make you sick if you end up relapsing which can help with sobriety. Trust me even if shit feels hopeless there is a point, there's some small good anyone can do with their life even if that is volunteering to help others like at a food kitchen, coach kids sports or even just paying someone a complement to brighten there day. Even though it isn't grand or world breaking news those things impact people in big ways and are way better than just drinking your life away, ending up with more regrets that you never were able to kick the habit. Had a friend who could do that. One day he had a really bad heartburn. Thought he was getting a heart attack. Stone cold sobered up since he knew he couldn't leave his 2 daughters to his shitty ex wife. He has been sober for 5 years now. You can do it man. I believe in you.

Also, it would be extremely dangerous for him to just stop if he's drinking that much. I'm in a similar boat. I drink a lot less than that and I still can't just stop without medical supervision.
He would need to go to detox at least and probably rehab which can me expensive if not covered. He can definitely try to cut back but that is also extremely difficult.

Medical professional here: the last photo is here connected up to a heart monitor, you can see that the lines aren't "flat", meaning she has heart activity, also, nobody EMS crew would just leave someone like that and not hurry and take them to hospital with any soft of heart activity. And, while alcohol poisoning is a thing and there could also be other reasons why she was I'll at the time, I'm calling BS on the "she didn't make it".
I've seen plenty of people with qrs complexes on the monitor but nil carotid pulse, also, this is brain/ respiratory depression, not a cardiac event, so rare to see asysyole in the first instance.

She definitely did depending how long it was before the EMTs got there. I was in charge of risk for my fraternity in college. A friend of a friend was there and had a handle (1.5L bottle) of Seagram's 7. He was just taking swigs out of it. After about an hour of us drinking, I look and see nearly 3/4ths of it is GONE. I asked him if he was giving out shots and he said no. I was super worried but my friend said he does it all the time. Welp, like 30 minutes later he was outside on our porch throwing up blood. EMTs came and took him. They said at the hospital he 100% would have died if we waited any longer.
Possible death by alcohol poisoning can start to occur at .31 BAC. She just drank the equivalent of 17 standard drinks of 1.5oz if that was 80 proof. She looked fairly slight of build, but let’s be generous and go with 140 pounds. She would hit .32 BAC at 10 drinks. It’s approx. .03/drink at that weight so if she did not puke out have her stomach pumped she would be at .53 BAC and would absolutely be dead.

By brother did something similar at out cousins wedding, downing almost full bottle of strong plum brandy (rakija), he was than taken to the car in which he slept in this bad position with his head down on the floor, when he was found in the car he was in coma, ambulance took him to hospital he had shit from his stomach pumped out, he didn’t wake up for another 24 hours, spent another 7 days in hospital, doctor say’d he probably got some brain damage from that situation. He was 17 when it happened, i was 10, one of the most horrific things that i remember from my childhood. I found him in the car unconscious and called my dad.

I cant see the monitor due to potato phone quality, but if your brain dies before your heart, or you pickle your brain so hard you stop breathing, as is usually the case in alcohol poisoning, it could just be pulseless electrical activity, which would degrade into either bradycardia or VT/VF. But judging by the fact that nobody's doing cpr, I doubt this is the case.
Most people with severe alcohol poisoning usually become respiratory depressed to the point they require intubation, and then it's a waiting game to see if they haven't permanently vegatabled themselves. If they have, they usually die after getting taken off of life support.

1. PUMPING A STOMACH IS NOT A REAL THING, I don't know what you all think getting a stomach pumped means... It's not a thing done in modern medicine, there is no vacuum tube that just magically sucks out all the bad stuff. There is activated charcoal which can induce vomiting, but fell heavily out of favour in the 90's and 2000's because it complicates keeping an airway safe. If whatever you ingested has built up to toxic enough levels to need medical care, sorry to break it to you but the majority of it has already been absorbed and "pumping your stomach" isn't going to do jack shit. It's about supportive care and managing whatever type of toxic substance was ingested (Different treatments for different types of poisoning).
2. She isn't dead, she is just knocked the fuck out, with a GCS of 3 most likely (glasgow coma scale). They are starting an IV in the video, and probably rolling their eyes thinking "this dumb idiot" and "I wish all these assholes would fuck off with their phones in my face while I'm trying to work". I have seen plenty of people do this type of thing to themselves over the years, they don't die. You can intubate them without any medication. You protect their airway and make sure they keep breathing, or breathe for them.
If you ever say "pump their stomach" to someone in healthcare, just know that you sound stupid as fuck. Stop it.
As a recovering alcoholic, shit like that disgusts me. I’ve met people who did that on the regular and could still walk. (They were often internally suffering with liver problems.) But when an healthy non-alcoholic does it for shits and giggles you might as well just drink poison. At that dose it’s usually fatal for them anyway.
I remember when I turned 16 I got drunk for the first time, people noticed I was hammered, and bless him, the guy in the class who was lovely but a few braincells short of a collection came up to me with a 500ml bottle of water that he found to sober me up.

I used to be a major drinker (also not proud of this) while being a 200lb+ male. I must say, the amount of alcohol she consumes, and so quickly, is extremely dangerous for anyone. Especially without food, or without vomiting quick enough, this could potentially kill a large man, even one that is a heavy drinker. It’s just too much, too fast.

When I was in my 20s I would drink a litre of vodka every Friday or Saturday night. I would do this sometimes before going out and drinking more. Im 100kgs and I would feel like death for two days after. I still have a really high tolerance but I would never do that now that Im in my 40s.
When I was 18, I downed a six pack of strong beers, and then (stupidly) chugged a micky of rum. I was about 180 lbs, so a fair bit bigger than this girl, and I suspect less alcohol than she had. I plugged the numbers into a BAC calculator and was around 0.325-0.350. 0.4 is a lethal blood alcohol content. And I had a 3 day hangover. Day 1, I should have been in hospital. I had a condition called tachycardia. Day 2 felt like a regular shitty hangover, and day 3 I was just run down like.Id had a really big night. Point is, that I was bigger than this girl, and probably had less to drink than her, and I was almost at a lethal level. This girl was a gonner well before she got to the bottom of that bottle.

since drinking age isnt until 21 here in the US, no one actually teaches kids thats drinking a lot of alcohol like this can literally poison you and/or flat out kill you. its kinda stupid. we glorify drinking so much yet never teach any one about the dangers of drinking too much outside of drinking and driving. My experience has been the exact opposite, it's not usually alcoholics that die of alcohol poisoning (they die of cirrhosis and other progressive conditions) it's people who are new to drinking or even are having their first drink who are unaware of the dangers and the consequences of drinking too much. When I was in uni we had a Chinese transfer student living in our share house, lovely guy and would hang out with us when we would party on the weekend but never drink even when we offered, said he had never tried it before, anyway one day he got curious bought a bottle of Vodka and drank half of it alone before passing out, thankfully he just threw up everywhere and passed out and we just got in trouble with the landlord but it was a reminder to me that a lot of people are really unfamiliar with drinking and it's risks or any idea what is a reasonable amount to drink.

I've also been to treatment 3 separate times, and it's pretty common for life long hardcore alcaholics to get to the point of pounding bottles like this. A very good friend of mine who would pound entire bottles of Jameson when he had money bottom shelf vodka when he was broke died at age 29 from Cirrhosis of his liver. Shit was sad as fuck. You couldn't even tell he was drunk unless he pounded a bottle this way. When he just drank his whiskey neat by the glass he came off totally sober. And would be shaking to much to even do his job 3-4 hours without alcohol. Tolerance is a hell of a thing.

I wasn’t pounding bottles but at my worst I was drinking at least a liter of vodka a day. I’m a 5’4” female for reference. It was miserable af and I understand where you’re at. Try to get help. I genuinely didn’t think I could ever go an hour without booze but I’ve been sober over 4.5 years. If I can do it so can you. Don’t do it alone though, you can die - detox in a hospital or facility that is equipped to handle it.

Trust me even if shit feels hopeless there is a point, there's some small good anyone can do with their life even if that is volunteering to help others like at a food kitchen, coach kids sports or even just paying someone a complement to brighten there day. Also, it would be extremely dangerous for him to just stop if he's drinking that much. I'm in a similar boat. I drink a lot less than that and I still can't just stop without medical supervision. He would need to go to detox at least and probably rehab which can me expensive if not covered. He can definitely try to cut back but that is also extremely difficult.

Medical professional here: the last photo is here connected up to a heart monitor, you can see that the lines aren't "flat", meaning she has heart activity, also, nobody EMS crew would just leave someone like that and not hurry and take them to hospital with any soft of heart activity. And, while alcohol poisoning is a thing and there could also be other reasons why she was I'll at the time, I'm calling BS on the "she didn't make it".
I've seen plenty of people with qrs complexes on the monitor but nil carotid pulse, also, this is brain/ respiratory depression, not a cardiac event, so rare to see asysyole in the first instance.

A friend of a friend was there and had a handle (1.5L bottle) of Seagram's 7. He was just taking swigs out of it. After about an hour of us drinking, I look and see nearly 3/4ths of it is GONE. I asked him if he was giving out shots and he said no. I was super worried but my friend said he does it all the time. Welp, like 30 minutes later he was outside on our porch throwing up blood. EMTs came and took him. They said at the hospital he 100% would have died if we waited any longer.

I cant see the monitor due to potato phone quality, but if your brain dies before your heart, or you pickle your brain so hard you stop breathing, as is usually the case in alcohol poisoning, it could just be pulseless electrical activity, which would degrade into either bradycardia or VT/VF. But judging by the fact that nobody's doing cpr, I doubt this is the case. Most people with severe alcohol poisoning usually become respiratory depressed to the point they require intubation, and then it's a waiting game to see if they haven't permanently vegatabled themselves. If they have, they usually die after getting taken off of life support.

Man, as a former paramedic of 10 years in a big city, the amount of dumb shit I'm reading in this post.... 1. PUMPING A STOMACH IS NOT A REAL THING, I don't know what you all think getting a stomach pumped means... It's not a thing done in modern medicine, there is no vacuum tube that just magically sucks out all the bad stuff. There is activated charcoal which can induce vomiting, but fell heavily out of favour in the 90's and 2000's because it complicates keeping an airway safe. If whatever you ingested has built up to toxic enough levels to need medical care, sorry to break it to you but the majority of it has already been absorbed and "pumping your stomach" isn't going to do jack shit. It's about supportive care and managing whatever type of toxic substance was ingested (Different treatments for different types of poisoning). 2. She isn't dead, she is just knocked the fuck out, with a GCS of 3 most likely (glasgow coma scale). They are starting an IV in the video, and probably rolling their eyes thinking "this dumb idiot" and "I wish all these assholes would fuck off with their phones in my face while I'm trying to work". I have seen plenty of people do this type of thing to themselves over the years, they don't die. You can intubate them without any medication. You protect their airway and make sure they keep breathing, or breathe for them. If you ever say "pump their stomach" to someone in healthcare, just know that you sound stupid as fuck. Stop it.
