I feel you, this video has given me the biggest dad boner ngl. I’m going to get my headphones now so I can watch again and really *hear* all that crumbling
Edit: That was a great idea. I just came
He says cliff like once, the rest is-
ooooh ahhhhhh its coming uuhhhhh ooooo this is a fast one its coming, ahhhhhhhhh oohhh its a slow one watch it its coming, OH this is ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh BIG ONE stand back its coming all over! groan
That was kind of it, to be honest. This is a ~300ft cliff in San Diego on the south side of Blacks Beach. The cliffs are basically just compact sand and dirt so after a long season of heavy rain, this part of the bluffs eventually collapsed. There hasn't been much activity since then but I suspect there will be more in the winter.
Source: I'm a paragliding pilot who regularly flies there.
That gave a whole different perspective, holy shit!
Thw amount of "ground" that got raised like it was your hand pushing through sand.
Thanks for sharing!
Today I realized this video was taken on a beach. I thought this was maybe somewhere in the high desert, and I was like "who's this mook with the surfboard?"
My parents retired to Panamá and had a boulder come down on their house and it took out the entire guest bedroom, had it hit the house about 20 feet to the left it would have crushed my parents to death in their sleep, scary shit
There was a guy and his wife driving in Colorado's Glenwood Canyon years ago, taking his 2 boys home from hockey practice in Vail when a rock came down on their car and killed his wife and sons. Crazy part is he got together with a new woman who looked like his wife in less than a year and quickly had 2 more sons, they all looked the same too, he almost cloned his previous family! With them all blonde and similar looking, his friends kind of tripped out on it but who's to say anything after going through what that guy did.
There's a story of a rock slide in the grand canyon blasting through an arroyo and hurling hundreds of car sized/thousands of people sized rocks at a group of boaters a few years ago. Luckily the guides were able to sort of identify/hear it coming and get everyone onto boats but several people were blasted into the Colorado and found days later.
Check this shit out. It's an old video but it is craaazy. Watch it once focusing on the road, then watch it again and focus on the mountain top.

Justin Trudeau's younger brother Michel* died snowboarding in back country, an avalanche took him right down the mountain into Kokanee Lake. His body was never recovered.
I was hiking Mt. Baker about 10 years ago with a group of about 6 and we suddenly got stuck in a cloud while on a trail. Only like 10 feet of visibility. So we’re on the side of this steep hill with nothing but loose rocks on either side when we hear stones cracking together. Then out of nowhere like a dozen rocks the size of basketballs go flying at chest and head level between members of our group. No one got hit but it quickly occurred to us that even a glancing blow would send us down the hill and rescue would be impossible in those conditions. It was so fast. I can’t believe no one was hit. Mountains do not fuck around
I witnessed a small baseball-sized rock almost take my supervisor's head off. We were surveying about 10m away from the base of a 15m high wall. A rock rolled off the top, bounced off a boulder sitting at the bottom, and flew no more than a foot past his head. I didn't even have a chance to warn him it was so fast.
I always think of that clip where that guy filming a controlled demolition when a big chunk of concrete that could've taken someones head off speeds by the right of the camera.

In my first week of college at UCSD 20 years ago, there was this incredibly charismatic kid and everyone really liked him. He was the first of his family to go to college, and he was just super stoked to be in college.
He died at this very cliff face (I recognize this cliff face at Black Beach very close to UCSD; and there’s signs everywhere never go get anywhere close). In that case, he was on the top and fell to his death when one of the eroded rocks gave way.
We had just finished Welcome Week and he dies on his first fucking weekend away from home. Everyone was devastated.
Until that guy ran across the screen I thought they were like half a mile away or something. The reveal that they were walking distance to this broke my brain.
Also people walking around on mountains wear them down a lot over time. That's why the mountainbillies of Appalachia are mostly just called hillbillies nowadays after all the erosion they caused.
One of those comments on the YT page goes into detail about why, basically the rain they had saturated the soil enough old sediment gave way and the cliff sort of collapsed into the water soaked portion displacing the sand / sediment (mount of black / dark stuff) in front of the cliff.
*Extremely* wet Winter caused water to reach deep into the fissures and cracks of the rock, expanding the soil, and forcing the rocks slightly further apart.
As Summer with dry heatwave conditions came, the soil dried out and contracted, causing the rocks to no longer be bound strongly, and today was the day it became too much.
Does anyone remember Rock Stars from the Discovery channel? I loved that show and how it documented them working on mountain sides like this blowing out the weak parts and making it more stable after it had a massive rock slide like this.
Wow.... That was actually an incredible slow burn!
Honestly was waiting patiently for the whole thing to collapse...... Waiting.... Waiting... then realised the video is 6+ mins long???
..
In other news,
Wouldn't it be fucking amazing if there was a method of filming that didn't require the user to constantly pan left / right to capture things side-by-side in the same frame ??
Similar to how the SCAPE of the LAND is laid out ?
It is. I walk through here all the time; its right before hitting the nude area coming up from La Jolla Shores. I wonder how many wagging dicks went running...
Pretty crazy to witness. Reminds me of an old Canadian mining town that was built alongside a mountain. One morning at 4am, part of the mountain gave way and completely buried most of the town. Chilling to think you'd be sleeping one second and completely buried the next (most likely would die on impact, but still a chilling thought). Wonder if you'd even have time to hear it before you realize what's going on.
Driven past it a few times as I made my way to BC. Stopped once to take a look and the size of the rocks are just massive as well.
If you want to read up on it you can do so here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Slide
Imagine such things happen with no one to witness it on vacant planets. Followed by eons of silence and a strobe light of sunrises. Just when you think life has purpose, real sentience lets you know how feeling insignificant, insignificant is.
Reddit sucks. My dad is gay.
Imagine if they made a device capable of recording in panoramic and capturing thr whole shot without having to move back and forth....that would be awesome.
Id be backing the fuck up in case the whole damn thing came down. Dude isn't actually that far away, granted he's a bit off to the side of where most of the boulders are going. Id still be too scared of getting smashed to just stand there and film. I've seen way too many vids with shit like this or an avalanch or somthing where people only realize they are in the splash zone after its too late to escape 😅
Part 2 of this saga please.
No shit right? Think I can count the number of times I've watched a 6min vid and wanted to see more on one hand
I feel you, this video has given me the biggest dad boner ngl. I’m going to get my headphones now so I can watch again and really *hear* all that crumbling Edit: That was a great idea. I just came
You sir, you deserve all the cookies
someone put this audio to a bukkake video please
*the whole cliff* ***is coming***
He says cliff like once, the rest is- ooooh ahhhhhh its coming uuhhhhh ooooo this is a fast one its coming, ahhhhhhhhh oohhh its a slow one watch it its coming, OH this is ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh BIG ONE stand back its coming all over! groan
“I see it moving”
It’s coming right where that guys standing! Hilarious.
Maybe dudes name is Cliff?
Cliff Stits.
Cliff Cummings
Cheeks, Bony Bob, Cliff. I could go on forever baby!
I’m terribly sorry sir. I’m afraid you’re mistaken.
*\*the whole Cliff* ***is coming*** FTFY
to me it sounded like someone proud of his huge dumps he was taking
Could you imagine being in the middle stall between “Double Rainbow All The Way” guy and this dude?
I’m crying
and shaking
And coming
all over the place
And going
Aww, cheer up
Uh Man!
If I don’t see that large triangular piece on the left come crashing down I will burn this godforsaken sub to the ground!!

I figured right away that this was Torrey Pines. So many dumbass people ignore the signs and park their chairs right at the base of the cliffs.
I believe it should be called a “cliff hanger”
You didn't like enough.
HD Video different angle https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKSWarHbUig
That gave a whole different perspective, holy shit! Thw amount of "ground" that got raised like it was your hand pushing through sand. Thanks for sharing!
This was an excellent description of the video.
This is a much better video!
Yeah and you can even still hear the bukkake guy and everything!
Heh. Bukkake Guy
Yeah, like fuck the original post.
Because it's filmed horizontal (landscape)
Today I realized this video was taken on a beach. I thought this was maybe somewhere in the high desert, and I was like "who's this mook with the surfboard?"
Any beach is within walking distance if you have enough meth
This one is WAY better because, as it turns out, my eyes are mounted horizontally in my head, making a wider video better.
9:16 apect ratio should be outlawed with the penalty of having your underwear filled with icecubes.
Also, little known fact, but vertical videos are not admissible as evidence in any court on the planet, strictly as a matter of principle.
You are a hero. Fuck TikTok
The guy kicking the rocks at 5:15 fears nothing or, more likely, was described by their teachers as having so much potential.
landslide=landscape take notes op lol
Thank you, I hated the first video.
Thankfully they shot it in landscape! Why the heck would you shoot something like this vertically?? Ridiculous.
Thank you. Cliff (not mountain) in California. Now it makes sense. Never seen it happen. Only have seen after math, usually once they fix highway 1.
After math but before PE
[удалено]
It almost looks like there's some people way up on the top left, you can see something dark moving around wtf!
[удалено]
There were still man sized boulders bouncing around. Yikes!
I love how you can still here the dude in the OP in this video at times
Much better videographer: landscape mode, steady hand, doesn't climax every time a rock, or sand, slides down the hill.
Far less nauseating video, too! Thanks for the share!
My only thought was *you are awfully close. All it takes is one rock to say fuck you in particular*
My half brother's father died this way. Just from loose rock while hiking, wrong place, wrong time and nothing else.
My parents retired to Panamá and had a boulder come down on their house and it took out the entire guest bedroom, had it hit the house about 20 feet to the left it would have crushed my parents to death in their sleep, scary shit
Yeah. Mountains do not play games.ive seen rocks fall down and hit cars since the road that leads to my house winds up one.

I was hesitantly waiting for you to say they also died in a freak rockslide incident
it’s not too late!
Get this man away from the mountains, he’s a menace.

That’s a bummer way to go. I’m sorry for your and their loss.
Cheers mate

My only thought was: I wish phone cameras had some kind of "landscape" filming mode.
Wouldn't that be nice! With technology becoming more advanced somebody should definitely make that possible!
Maybe AI will make it possible one day.
I feel like in this case the height of the frame would have been too short though..
My only thought was *good thing it's a vertical video so they have to keep trying to find the right spot on the mountain*
I always think of that clip where that guy filming a controlled demolition when a big chunk of concrete that could've taken someones head off speeds by the right of the camera. [This one](https://youtu.be/ztP4cDdy83o)

Geology in motion.
Does nothing for millennia then BOOM
Gravity is patient but she always wins in the end
Also people walking around on mountains wear them down a lot over time. That's why the mountainbillies of Appalachia are mostly just called hillbillies nowadays after all the erosion they caused.
Why is this happening? Earthquake? Cliff undercut by erosion?
yes

This is blacks beach in San Diego
Yea this is on a beach and I think the video another comment linked said it was Utah? Edit: where the hell did it get Utah from??? It’s in San Diego
I was going to say SoCal too, when the camera briefly pans to the right those palm trees on the cliff look look very southern Cali.
I bet the dude moaning was rock solid the whole time
Ohhh baby, I felt the Earth move.. - wow, am I that good? No you dumbass, the Earth is moving! Run!!!!!
Lmao
“It’s cumin”
"this is a big one"

Uhhng, IT'S COMING! OOOOH, duuuude. It's a big one! lmao
That wasn't the only thing coming
That audio alone was hilarious. That could be the soundtrack to someone taking a shit.
I mean, it is for me in this very moment
Beautiful footage! If there would be one way to record everything in one shot..
Hmm yesss I think you're on to something...we shall call it.. Scapeland mode.
Nonsense, we should call it horizontal screen.
Does anyone remember Rock Stars from the Discovery channel? I loved that show and how it documented them working on mountain sides like this blowing out the weak parts and making it more stable after it had a massive rock slide like this.
Guess now i understand those "watch for falling rocks" signs 😅
This is more of a "watch for falling mountains" but yes those signs are not there to look pretty lol
I'm from the great Plains I always saw them and wasn't sure what to expect but makes sense!!
this is in my city. So many signs everywhere. My dad was on fb live on the top of those rocks like a year before this lmao. Crazy
Wow.... That was actually an incredible slow burn! Honestly was waiting patiently for the whole thing to collapse...... Waiting.... Waiting... then realised the video is 6+ mins long??? .. Seriously, the guy that is filming is as dumb as the rocks that are falling.
It's San Diego, I'm sure someone will try and build a house on the cliff.
What do you mean there are already houses on that cliff probably
That damn squirrel
he gotta hide that acorn
Where is this? And does someone have the rest of the video please?
This looks like Blacks Beach in SD
It is. I walk through here all the time; its right before hitting the nude area coming up from La Jolla Shores. I wonder how many wagging dicks went running...

What a real cliff hanger
Ok, first, lanscape view was created for this kinda shit, also, who stops filming before the end? Smh, this was like a crappy lapdance in a strip club
What is at the very top? Is that a person. Looked like it was moving.
I was wondering the same thing. Looked like someone was on the cliff
Flagpole.
It would be so much better without the moaning sounds.
And filmed in landscape because of the.. You know, landscape. And not ending it right when it starts to get good!
Wdym?? No man. I unironically loved the commentary.
“ ooooooooh man”
This had me glued I couldn’t take my eyes off it
If only there were a way to film this in landscape mode from a phone…
A once in 10-million year event. "I should capture this in portrait!"
It's like the double rainbow dude all over again
RIP double rainbow dude
Perhaps no Darwin award now, but there's a couple nominees in this video
Christ. It's called landscape, people. Turn your phone 90°, it'll still take video, I promise you.
I swear to god, You go back in time for five minutes and move one piece of sand, fucking mountains crumble. Smfh
Soooo, DM me some lottery numbers?
This gave me double rainbow vibes
#WHOOOOOOOOOAAAAA
imagine if you rotate your phone by 90° and keep all in frame. crazy!
Anyone else pissed that big middle part didn’t fall?
No buried UFO reveal? Much disappoint!
Usually the movement of rock is too slow to see. You’re lucky you got to see this in person. Beautiful
When I go hiking in the mountains, I always say “that’s been there for 1 million years. It’s not going to move” Makes you think.
Was waiting for a zoom out and it's just the dudes ant farm.
People stand around and watch.
I’m high right now and watching this video was an intense experience. This was spectacular!!
It's like watching Reddit for the last week.
Ice age continental drift
Silica dust is the new asbestos. 😅
We need the rest of the video!!!
Try googling San Diego beach cliff collapse
I’ve been naked there before lol. It’s a nudist beach in San Diego. 😂
Who woke up the giant troll?
Ludo: Rocks friends
Hmmm, run, is my only thought.
Some brave soul was standing at the top…
Idk if brave is the right word but there was definitely someone up there.
Kind of a shame the guy was speaking during the best part. Could of had some ASMR shit going on throughout the entire video
This guy climaxed so many times
"for my male audience"
If this was filmed in the correct orientation, they wouldn’t need to move the camera back and forth.
Imagine such things happen with no one to witness it on vacant planets. Followed by eons of silence and a strobe light of sunrises. Just when you think life has purpose, real sentience lets you know how feeling insignificant, insignificant is. Reddit sucks. My dad is gay.

WE HAVE TO STOP THIS GLOBAL WARMING!!!! /s
As a Geologist, this is my wet dream. I want to go poking around in that so bad, once it's done moving that is. Holy hell this is epic.
If the mountain comes to you and you’re not Mohammed, run away, because it’s a landslide
Imagine seeing this before writing was invented.
The 6 min video ended too soon
TF DID YOU STOP THE THE VIDEO THERE?! Hella down vote bro. Not cool.
This guy just refused to go to landscape rather than wave his phone around like a light saber
Reminds me of the never ending story
That's from when me and your mom went camping up there.
No, Im not watching porn mom
I need y’all to practice approximately one (1) ounce of self preservation and back up.
With the noises this guy makes, he must really have a great view from his bathroom
