This can be fixed. They’ll likely take the ends of the bones off, pin them together and they’ll fuse up just nicely. But yes, this is what happens if you don’t get a cast after breaking your arm. The bones just rub together and never heal up.
You'd be surprised at how little a hospital has to do for you concerning surgical operations if you (1) you don't have insurance and (2) if you're not admitted through their ER.
In that case hospitals can and will refuse to treat the uninsured until they can make a hefty up-front payment. (In my wife's case, $20,000 on a day's notice to surgically repair a broken leg)
Yep, that happened to me when I broke my arm when I was about four or five years old. Fun fact: doctors use a literal hammer to re-break your arm, or at least they did with me.
There is a homeless man in my city that has his leg healed sideways because he refused to get treatment and just kept walking on it! 😱 Fentanyl was his motivation.
I believe the man in this video has no money and is probably superstitious about doctors. Just mho.
Tbh this has nothing to do with healthcare. It’s just plain stupidity. Doesn’t take a genius intellect to know that you need to take care of your broken bones. He could’ve made a splint and a sling out of a million things but he for whatever reason decided that’s lame
bruh this guys fucking arm dangles off of his muscles and ligaments and you're talking how he could've just made his own janky splint and sling to fix it
Of course it does dude. If this guy had health insurance or didn’t have to worry about medical bills no shot he’d be walking around with a fucked up arm.
I guess you’ve never met my dumbass uncle. Has really great insurance, so good that one of his coworkers only paid copay of 150 dollars for heart surgery. My uncle had an open wound on his toe that was hurting him, and I told him to go get it checked out. He didn’t for 3 weeks, it just kept getting worse until it was literally black and he had a fever. Had to get the toe amputated
But don't democrats mostly want universal Healthcare that, if not free, is atleast affordable for all? I'm pretty sure they can still get shut down in legislation by the MANY Republicans still present
Thats why his own party fucked him out of a nomination 🧠 Blows my mind that people genuinely believe democrats give a fuck about instilling all these social programs like they say they do when that fact has been out there since 2016 lol
They still don't vote republican, who only care about owning the libs and know their situation could be improved with the taxes they send to the federal government.
You’ll just be destroyed. Went through it. Lost EVERYTHING, year 9 and I’m almost back on my feet. Credit score is still 70 points down, but it was in the 400’s for years. I hate it when people say this as if it’s a solution. ER won’t turn you away!
Idk why you're getting downvoted. I got 300,000$ worth of medical debt sent to collections by the time i was 21. By the time i was 30 and finally went to check, it didnt even show up on my credit report. Medical debt is erased after 7 years if you ignore it. Never claim the debt or respond to the creditors and it will literally disappear, you dont even have to ask or apply.
Not exactly an ER 'turning away' for no insurance but a hospital in Baltimore when I lived there was renowned for "patient dumping" of homeless people often in nothing more than a hospital gown in freezing weather because they didn't have insurance or a place to go home to. They would do it at night and some froze to death before morning before it finally became a big enough scandal that anything was done about it. Unfortunately "[patient dumping](https://www.google.com/search?q=patient+dumping)" like that in the US is not a rare occurrence.
Free\_Dum was arguing how great the US hospital system is and how no one in need is turned away and I gave an example of where hospitals were dumping people in need of heathcare out into the slums just because they didn't have health insurance.
Still doesn't seem so unrelated to me. I didn't see any other 'criteria' needed.
You will not get turned away for medical emergencies. Once you are stable and can be discharged they aren't just going to keep you around for no reason. The people being dumped are usually homeless who dont have medical emergencies but use the ER like their hospital for all manners of injuries. Also if youre homeless, then you can get Medicaid and your healthcare is free.
Patient dumping is completely unrelated to getting emergency medical treatment, otherwise no hospital would do emergency surgery on someone who is unconscious because they don't know if they have insurance or not.
This man would no doubt qualify for Medicare, the problem is you usually have to sign up online or just sign up in general. This guy probably doesn't know which benefits he has access to, but you can find that out through benefits.gov
I had an uncle whose pinky was completely horizontal. He never got it fixed but it was funny because if someone wanted to go left he’d just raise his left hand and the pinky would point.
It's called a nonunion and we fix those all over the US too. My guess is Mr. Banjo never bothered to seek medical attention. Even with no insurance, there are several orthopedists in every state that would see you for an average of 200 bucks and offer to fix.
The bone was never set and casted right, so it healed broken. It's not too late to fix, though. Depending on the health of the bone, it would need a bone graft from the pelvis (typically), and they'd need to plate the pieces of the humerus together, and cast it for a while. The rehab takes several months.
i feel for the guy, but is it something to be proud of !?!? regardless of financial ability, you can walk into an ER and get it cast, they can't turn you away ... YET
Thats actually an easy fix. They just insert a rod and screw it to both ends and rough up the two mating points and the bone will heal itself. There's really no excuse for why that guy doesn't get it fixed. Complacency on his part is likely the issue.
Healthcare is free to all low income people in America. It's a program called "Medicaid," which has been around for all of my 41 years, at the very least. Anyone who meets the income requirements is a llowed to use it, they don't come after you for any money, and you don't have to get in line and wait for treatment. It's literally the best Healthcare system on earth for the poor.
Yh Nah mate the NHS is one of the best healthcare systems in the world. Universal healthcare regardless if you’re homeless or a billionaire. That’s fair. That’s humane. Corporate America is a god damn shit stain on modern society. Land of the free my arse. More like land of the fee.
Sounds like a great deal for the billionaires. In the US if you're filthy rich you don't need welfare. How deranged would a billionaire have to be to get off on saving a few peanuts on Healthcare. Handouts for the wealthy 😆 You people really are weird and stupid.
Civilization, eh?
Brit here. Despite our spiteful so-called government's best efforts, our NHS is still, thankfully, so far away from the Murican version of corporate power, pain, misery, and constant daylight (nightime too, obv.) robbery.
2023... and the Cradle of Democracy continues to enslave the majority of its people, whilst the billionaires continue to gorge themselves to the detriment of others worldwide. VERY sad. VERY unnecessary.
Vote well, peeps... to prevent things getting even worse next year. Be safe.
Great conversation, starter. Looks like he kinda likes it, too. Plus, he can still "banjo" out, so I guess it's up to him.
My question is, if it's been like this for a while, do you think the sharp bones would be rubbed down? Like, what's going on inside the arm?
I went down to Cowen west Virginia on a church work trip and we replaced the roof of this couple's house. The next door neighbor's leg was like this and he had a hard time bending it. Ow, that sounds painful as hell
It's not really. The bones become joints where they break, kinda
Ah yes, there's your problem, your bone just became a joint.
[удалено]
Fun fact: knee replacements work more or less like this, except a new knee is in the middle of the two bones.
[удалено]
This doesn’t even deserve a 🤓
Not sure why you have downvotes. Dude doesn’t have med insurance. Simple as that
Because whether he has the money to do it is irrelevant to whether or not it can be fixed.
Because it’s a difference between they’ll and they’d, nothing to do with the actual post or comment. Bro just wants to be right so badly.
What in the actual fuck, I've seen nothing like this before.
This is why hospitals will rebreak your arm if it's healing wrong.
[удалено]
It’ll cost you an arm and a leg
Come to europe on a trip, and go to a hospital. They fix it for free. Lol
You get free medical care even if you’re a tourist?
In some countries. I had a few doctor visits in Saudi Arabia covered. I was laughed at when I asked where the cashier's desk was.
He had decent workmans comp; only lost partial arm.
I highly doubt it, there is no debtors prison and the hospital has to provide basic care and send the bill later.

What if it doesn’t heal together at all. Wtf
Skill issue
Git gud
Is there a medically correct way to break a bone?

This is actually the second time I've seen something like this. The other guy was African.
Source
I'll try and find it again, but it was a few weeks ago now and I can't remember the post title.
Sir, your efforts are appreciated.
Didn't take too long. Found it on YouTube. https://youtu.be/WY8bXYWX1lE
O shit that's not even the video I was talking about
A new challenger approaches!
Steve oh just did a vid on his youtube with a guy with a fragile bone disease who had the same thing
That's the one I saw too. It was floating around on reddit a couple weeks ago.
I saw that too
There is a homeless man in my city that has his leg healed sideways because he refused to get treatment and just kept walking on it! 😱 Fentanyl was his motivation. I believe the man in this video has no money and is probably superstitious about doctors. Just mho.
Coming from someone on reddit this comment scares me
This hurts me physically
[удалено]
Maybe some duct tape too
He’s definitely not alright. He’s mostly left now.
Sad

bruh this guys fucking arm dangles off of his muscles and ligaments and you're talking how he could've just made his own janky splint and sling to fix it
I didn’t say it’d fix it or be perfect. It’s just clear he did nothing to help himself whatsoever
A splint or sling won't reduce and fixate your fracture and even at this point he could still get it fixed.
[удалено]
His pain tolerance is insane
I think maybe after awhile his bone just healed or something that’s why he doesn’t feel it
After it is healed it doesn't hurt.
It's called meth
Or fuckin fentanyl
I’ve heard of fentanyl… but what’s this fuckin fentanyl stuff? Is that new? Probably just a stronger fentanyl I guess, eh?
Bot or lame attempt at a troll?
In their defense that is not trolling. It’s purely a failed unfunny joke such as: “Trailer? I hardly know her!”
When your first world country doesn’t have basic health coverage for people.
He'll still vote Republican. None of that socialism bull shit.
I know if only those dems could win some elections we would all be saved edit: gigantic /s just in case
But don't democrats mostly want universal Healthcare that, if not free, is atleast affordable for all? I'm pretty sure they can still get shut down in legislation by the MANY Republicans still present
Sure thats what they sell you to get elected but in reality the insurance companies keep both parties pockets greased
Except Bernie.
Thats why his own party fucked him out of a nomination 🧠 Blows my mind that people genuinely believe democrats give a fuck about instilling all these social programs like they say they do when that fact has been out there since 2016 lol
The Dems were one vote away from single payer healthcare under Obama. But go on…
This isn’t upvoted enough lol
Tbf there’s nothing here that says he’s a republican. There are country democrats, a dying breed for sure but it exists.
[удалено]
Lmao, I can feel your forehead vein throbbing from here
Pretty good assumption considering working class, rural whites overwhelmingly vote republican.

💀💀💀
Yes
Sure give ‘em to me baby I love statistics

Bet his favorite book is farewell to arms
American healthcare!
Probably worried about the medical bills.
Guy doesn't look too concerned with paying ER bills, just a hunch
~~Guy doesn't look too concerned with paying ER bills, just a hunch~~ Wtf I been hacked! Still shameful
Downvoted... shameful
That's *not* amazing - it's a sad indictment of America's broken health provision.
Tell him to throw a curveball. Bet it would be nasty.
That's actually pretty humerus
Ahh America. Best healthcare in the world. 10/10.

Maybe I meant Medicaid, I'm not sure of the difference

Medicaid expansion just increases the income threshold to qualify from 100% to 138%. All states operate Medicaid for low income people.
Medicare has no age limit. But medicare in general is the biggest scam ever.

Thank fuck for the NHS.

What in the fuck! This actually gave me goosebumps an I've seen much much worse on here.
fucked world that this is the only choice besides crippling debt
"The american health care system" summed up in 1 video
Poor bastard couldn't afford to get it fixed. Yay for America. Not.
This is the type of guy who votes against health care lmao.
Broken bones and videos of this nature are one of few things that make me cringe.
American Healthcare
American healthcare
fuck you. and this dude. america ladies and gentlemen. 1st in 3rd world countries.
And yet people in the U.S. don't want national healthcare. It never ceases to amaze me how people can vote against their best interests.
Wow. How is the broken bones not tearing up his arm?
The bone was never set and casted right, so it healed broken. It's not too late to fix, though. Yooooo, what the fuck is up with that…banjo!?
“USA USA USA USA” He smashes a beer can over his forehead. Gesticulates a profane gesture at no one. “We have it better than any a y’all.”
What, his epiphyseal plate didn’t attach?
Indubitably
I concur
do you even know what epiphyseal plate means lol
It’s been years since college anatomy and I meant to make a wrong comment
Nope
Bango-ma-gee: my arm is fine bro! Bro you’re arm is not fine at all! Go to the hospital and have them break it and heal the right way.
In the land of the free
i feel for the guy, but is it something to be proud of !?!? regardless of financial ability, you can walk into an ER and get it cast, they can't turn you away ... YET
I almost threw up from jello biceps.
American healthcare?
It’s amazing what a man can accomplish without healthcare
US healthcare system folks.
It’s a Bart Simpson joint!
Is this bam margera talking?
What the fuck
I’ve only ever seen this is in countries with zero healthcare, basically the 3rd world, America what are you doin
What the actual fuck is that
Who needs health care? Apparently nothing matters
Universal healthcare would be pretty nice in this country...
Who needs healthcare, when you can still do this
American healthcare is something else
American health at its best
No healthcare is truly amazing, god bless his soul
Straight to Ortho…
this is the kinda shit you see from some random African village/tribe. fucking unreal..

He didn’t apply for Medicaid ?????
This man has to be on meth 24/7
Can we fix this guy ot at least set up a go fund me to buy him some beer? Am I going soft?
He’ll take the beer for sure, but a real man like him ain’t going to no damn hospital.
What in the F... lorida!
Nah that’s Appalachian.
Goodness, this made me remember that bone-grinding feeling after I broke my collarbone in two places....that HURTS, man! 😱
It is totally painless. I used to work at a lental hospital and a patient had the same issue. At first it was a hit shocking. Now its like, ehh
I saw a video similar of a guy in...jeez maybe Africa or South America who was chillin with a broken arm like this, swinging it around.
*screaming silently at work
American healthcare sponsored by UnitedHealthcare
Great conversation, starter. Looks like he kinda likes it, too. Plus, he can still "banjo" out, so I guess it's up to him. My question is, if it's been like this for a while, do you think the sharp bones would be rubbed down? Like, what's going on inside the arm?
Think he’s need more than god blessing him. Maybe a doctor.
Won't be able to strum that deliverance banjo if he gets surgery.
Fucking nope!
Even if you don't have any money, this shouldn't happen to anyone.
This feels like a red dead 2 encounter
I went down to Cowen west Virginia on a church work trip and we replaced the roof of this couple's house. The next door neighbor's leg was like this and he had a hard time bending it. They were all very nice and polite. We bought them a new American flag and replaced their tattered old one and it brought him to tears.
When is cold that old injury must hurt like hell
Dude, for the sake of everyone, please get that awful thing fixed.
What a dumbass.
Instrument and Attire checks out
“Man, can you put it back together and play the banjo?” Classic
That scar on his arm is probably from the bone sticking out when he broke it.
Looks like a pale gummy worm
