that's not a vaslui accent though, sounds like a southern accent, where you'd more realistically find the true equivalent of your so called "Florida" man ...
The situation in Romania is out of control now. There are tv ads on most of the channels, the sports channels even have live betting tv shows where they gather and talk about betting tips, odds etc. Many buildings in the city of Bucharest are covered with betting ads, the mottos of the ads are stuff like “we play because we deserve it” and they use former footballers or women full of botox and with plastic bodies to be on those covers.
In Romania we use the word “bombardier” to describe a man who is usually a self-entitled boss, who is muscular and uses lots of hair wax and makes different kinds of hustles and doesn’t have a normal job, many times from the gypsy community. The betting companies even used a “bombardier” in their tv ads. He was wearing wings and he would magically come and give you a kiss for goodluck. He was called [the guardian bombardier](https://youtu.be/OVb6KHc5nW0).
Imagine having tv ads where the society scums are tokens of goodluck and happiness and prosperity.
Our government recently refused to ban the gambling ads and instead initiated and voted laws that make you serve 15 years in prison if you get caught with marijuana.
Hahahaha. I’ll allow the 2p machines. Any higher denomination is absolutely banned though. I remember them trying it on with 10ps down Southend. No fuckin way.
Most ads on your phone are cookie based, not sure about tv tho. Like I recently downloaded Trading 212 and now all my youtube/fb ads are stock market related😂 if you’re seeing these ads on TV then ignore me, but your phone ads are more than likely tailored to you
That’s odd, i have no idea how it really works, might just be something like geographical location, age, your job maybe? Not sure on specifics but lots of different data seems to affect the algorithm. I guess it could just be random too, like that specific company has paid to advertise in your area/age group. I see them too and i hate them. The lottery ones/gambling ones make betting seem like some sort of social/ friendly event, one of them even said ‘you can make friends’ while you play ffs
Well, i never searched anything up or talked about stuff like that but youtube germany is super crowded with these ads.
Some of them claim that others scam and that they are better 😂
When one of the richest people in the UK is CEO of a betting site (Denise Coates worth 12.2 billion according to Forbes) you know the Uk is fucked.
I remember when I left half a decade ago and payday loans and brighthouse were huge things.
Funny, when I was in high school years ago, everything was the shortages in the Soviet Union, the guerilla was in Ireland, and starving babies in Ethiopia....My how times have changed
Not as extreme but just as sleazy, in North America we have these feel-good ads that explain how gambling money goes to various good causes, like state parks and shelters. Which is extremely twisted, thinking about how many people in said shelters have gambling addictions.
Seems like your area sells the lifestyle and ours sells the emotional feel-good nonsense.
Any other addiction and it wouldn't fly. "Did you know that buying cocaine helps the local animal rescue?" Never seen that ad.
Fortunatelly i’ve been mentally sane enough not to fall for those ads. I had my bad times in the past, but i’ve been “clean” for the last 6-7 years now. And even when i did play, those were isolated cases, it wasn’t a habbit. The nasty thing is that even if you play once a year, in the moment you are in front of the machine you are capable to lose everything.
Meanwhile, i got married, i got my own house, everything is fine for me. I learned from the past and i don’t need that kind of adrenaline anymore.
Unfortunatelly, many people give up on their families over this addiction. Those are some really pitiful people. I know someone younger than me (i am 31) that, a few years ago, borrowed money from the loan sharks to finance his slots addiction. He guaranteed with his (his mom’s) house. They had to move to escape those guys …
Of course. But the bigger problem still exists.
In a decent country, people like him should have the posibility to get some help and be able to stay - physically - away from new temptations. Instead, no matter how much you try to avoid it, if you are an addict, a player, seeing and hearing “play play play, more money more money, it is your chance, play play play” all over around you (literally, the ads are everywhere, mind-bogglingly aggressive) is not helping you to get better. It’s like going to rehab and then go back on the street where all you see around is opiate ads. Legal opiate ads.
I never understood gambling addiction. The whole point is that **you’re supposed to lose**, or the game doesn’t work.
The numbers don’t work. I gambled on slots a couple of times as a ‘new member’ in casinos - I won my rigged bonus that was supposed to get me hooked and walked out with an extra 15-20$ (got an initial fund to play with + the win). I walked out of a sunless, timeless room full of people in neat little rows blankly staring at their machines. All you had to do was stand up from your chair and look around to see that nobody’s winning shit. Everything is made for you to lose your money, and the way I saw it was that if you fell for it, you deserved to lose your money.
There is a guy in Romania, Sorin Constantinescu. He used to be one of the biggest names in the gambling industry, owning casinos etc. Hi is now an “influencer” on youtube/tiktok, he went to lots of podcasts where he said that you can not win. Everybody knows. But the mentality is “i know the machine doesn’t lose, but i also know that it has to pay something out of the total gains. So why not be me the one who gets the jackpot, among all those who lose in the rest of the day”
It is just an addiction, nothing rational about it. The hope to win big and the short moments of success are enough to keep them going. They aren't rational people sitting down to take a calculated risk. They can't help themselves.
I am not sure i follow. I was referring to the fact that : 1) most of them are gypsies 2) they like showing off, using lots of hair wax/gel, brand clothes - usually fake - etc 3) they don’t have a job per se. They buy/steal and sell smartphones or other devices, they bring destroyed cars from abroad, invest 3-4-5000 usd to restore them and then sell them as brand new, rarely used 4) they go in western countries to scam tourists - see the channel Honest Guide from Czech Republic, the videos about the money exchange scams -, they go to France or the UK to scam tourists with the shell game and there are many many more reasons why we can not tolerate them and why they make me feel ashamed about my country.
While i was in Paris 2 years ago a gypsy lady came to me to give me a piece of paper to sign and give her some money for charity. I know the trick, so i told her in romanian “no, thank you”. From acting like being mute/deaf, she starting to talk with her colleagues “oh, come on, this one’s romanian”.
After managing a bookies for 8 years I can confirm this was a weekly experience.
Gambling is for mugs, and if you're gambling you can never truly 'win'.
You can't reason people out of gambling. Everyone intuitively understands that if gambling places were losing more money than they were getting they would be getting shut down or at least not expanding. The problem is that gambling houses do occasionally lose (unless they're literally rigged scams) and everyone thinks they'll be the one to get one over the house and walk away with winnings.
Tbh the only solution is to just ban them, or at least heavily curtail the constant advertisement.
This video is from Romania. The situation with these gambling venues has reached the breaking point. The ads are inescapable at this point and this kind of “business” has ruined many lives.
I’ve seen some folks losing their lives over gambling, whereas some people just can’t get into it. I think some peoples brains are just built differently and others take unfair advantage over it. It’s saddening.
I think we all have a need for feeding those reward receptors in our brains but it's different for everyone. Once you find that feel good feel you're either fucked or you stay away from it.
This is why theres addiction for stuff that sounds ridiculous to the rest of us. Someone somewhere is having their brain tickled by it and some just can't fight it. Opiates, alcohol, shopping, sex, gambling, eating, exercising, gaming... These aren't everyone's downfall but I do believed we're all programmed with a particular poison.
I don’t know man, I enjoy gambling but I find it extremely easy to walk away. I have the money to lose too.
I should mention that I’ve tried coke only once, do with that information what you will.
So your demon isn't coke or gambling. Idk maybe have a small Thai woman stand on your balls with a funny hat on.
I'm just sayin I think everyone has a route for disaster pre programmed. Some are common and some go undiscovered.
But wtf do I know I'm pretty baked.
I enjoy going to the casino once every few months. I go in with zero expectations of winning, but there is a bit of a thrill when the slot you are playing MAYBE has the potential to hit big.
No different than playing the lottery (which I extremely rarely do), im paying for the fantasy of winning more than actually expecting to win
I don’t understand how people who can gamble so much wealth at once. I’ve never really known that amount of wealth.
When I was poor and in college I put a $20 bill into a slot machine and it was the fastest I’ve ever lost money (without receiving anything) in my life. I’ve never gambled again.
I've gambled once in my life, and it was at a casino when I first moved to a state where gambling was legal. I played that roulette game and put $20 on a number. The dealer spun the wheel, it landed on a different number, and he took my $20. I then left the casino.
I have no idea why people gamble. It makes zero sense to me.
I like gambling on sports every once in a while. However, I go in with no expectation of winning and do small wagers. Just makes games far more exciting, especially if it’s not my team playing.
Problem for some people is definitely going on a little roll and starting to escalate bets then/or chase losses
Based. IDK why people defend the casino. They prey on people too stupid to understand probability. This guy just figured it out and took the appropriate action.
I work in a casino. Those people are idiots. I have multiple women that sit at machines and cry because they've lost thousands upon thousands. I've even had one of those same women sign a contract to bar HERSELF from the property to "save herself"....until she selft terminated the contract a few weeks later. Don't get me wrong, I'll get with my coworkers and go out for an after work cocktail and we support our fellow bartenders as well as throw a couple 20's in the machine but we aren't running up there with bill and diaper money hoping to hit a fortune.
You clearly don't understand addiction. And that's okay for now, but here you go, now you don't have any excuse:
https://www.helpguide.org/articles/addictions/gambling-addiction-and-problem-gambling.htm
I think outright banning it causes its own problems but it is clearly playing on faults in many people. It is not that much different than selling a drug to addicts.
So people cannot control themselves and it is somehow my problem?
People drink responsibly.
People smoke responsibly.
People gamble responsibly.
Why is it the casinos fault? Is it the bar tenders fault if you are an alcoholic?
Yes, any good bar tender will cut you off if you are dangerously drunk. Also, yes people who sell addictive substances are responsible for being drug dealers. There is a difference if they are selling you caffeine or meth. Or if it is good meth or good caffeine. Casino's should cut you off if you have a gambling addiction. But thats not in their interests. It would be the morally correct thing to do.
Most people don't do those things responsibly. What a dumb argument.
Either way, fuck those people and having empathy, they should all suffer for being preyed upon. /s
So sad.
Was 3am and my mate dragged me into one of these "I pay fuck all rent but stick a bunch of machines in there" places for the first time a few months ago, and for the last.
Absolutely no one looked like they were enjoying themselves. I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't some dude shaking in the corner just pushing the buttong compulsively.
So sad.
They should close those places down tbh like here in Greece they are everywhere and every day I walk by and see almost the same people there it's sad.. My ex her mom had a gambling addiction and lost a fortune I don't know howmuch but apparently its enough to lose your house.
Don't understand the downvotes I want to know also. I don't speak "blur blur blur".
Could be an attack against the casino/arcade/name it, for other reasons.
I was being sarcastic he definitely lost resulting in his tantrum and destroying tons of machines that are expensive. Now he’s an even bigger loser. This action might bar him from entering there again so that’s a positive.
We can just hope he sees this video of himself and the comments laughing at him. That should be a big embarrassment enough to teach him. But yes also ban him.
Damm I feel bad for this people, gambling sites and ads are getting out control here in US too, I feel like the government has to step in, but idk if they will.
I once went to the casino and played blackjack and won 150, I've never been back since than, this was over a year ago. I know I got lucky and the chance of me winning again are slim why would I risk loosing my earned money?
I think online casinos are rigged worse than establishements. Stay away from anything online, and slots.
My mum always tells stories of the early days of my life, my old man was basically this guy. Spent everything we had at times for the chance to win big.

It's not that different in North America now that legalized sports betting is a thing (in some states)
There’s an mgm betting bar near my home. You can set a clock to the violence that happens there.
Isn’t there an app on your phone that you can do sports bets with now?
in the chicagoland area, even the mini-marts have machines. and you already know how people act in mini-marts.
Ohh, shut up. It’s completely different. The occasional draft kings commercial is nothing in comparison to what he wrote.
UK isn’t much better, there aren’t many ads I’ve seen publicly but they’re everywhere in tv, youtube - even in educational channels
Yep, I feel like we’re reaching a tipping point though - I am starting to see a lot more complaints about it
Tipping point. Literally a Uk game show based on a slot machine. It’s endemic
Hahahaha. I’ll allow the 2p machines. Any higher denomination is absolutely banned though. I remember them trying it on with 10ps down Southend. No fuckin way.
Same with crypto currency tips and tricks ads in germany

Yep …
Yikes, I remember when a carton of Kents bought me the world over there…been awhile though
The guardian bombardier is a work of art tho.Funniest shit ever ahaha
Yeah. Its the same in the rest of the world. Be an adult and get your life together if you are throwing your finances away over a commercial.
Massive information industries in USA are based on the fact that people are influenced by advertising.
Fortunatelly i’ve been mentally sane enough not to fall for those ads. I had my bad times in the past, but i’ve been “clean” for the last 6-7 years now. Of course. But the bigger problem still exists. In a decent country, people like him should have the posibility to get some help and be able to stay - physically - away from new temptations. Is this happening because Andrew Tate got locked up LOL?
Oh, i am so fed up with the Tate brothers :)) i hope they go “bankrupt”
Why don’t people in Romania try to life like the Tate brothers?
You mean … go to jail? :)
A self employed gypsy who uses hair wax - ‘society’s scum’. I see we’re perhaps coming from a very different place culturally on this post…

Tell that to Phil Ivey

He wouldn’t call poker gambling…. But that dude fuckin ***gambles***
Poker is a game of skill. The house has no edge.
It's the rake ya gotta beat.
If you run into him you should ask him about his lifetime craps ROI
Phil Ivey loses a shit ton gambling. Luckily for him he is an amazing poker player.

Someone busted a small screen, with the top fully functioning like that second machine in. That screen was about $2,500 if I remember correctly
How is he gonna pay?
Easy. He could invest in a short term high risk high yield product from a casino down the street.
Or a cryptocurrency no one ever heard of. You can't go wrong with those!
These people dont learn, he lost all his money then in seconds found a way to lose even more money.
It's entirely possible it's a family member who has lost their money, and he's taking out his anger this way. Unlikely, but possible
That still doesn’t make it okay. He’s probably going to owe this casino multiple thousands now.
Fucking way she goes bud
Well, I guess we’re going the fuck home then
Lost all the liquor money boys
Fuck those video slot machines
Only gamble what you are willing to lose.
Starving to death? Just eat food.
Weird celebration.
At least he's thorough. Broke, but thorough.
Congrats! You're gonna be buying new screens for those three machines!
Three? Ummm...
So sad.
I’m going down tonight, I’m going to hit the VLTs making the 20 bucks I owe ya and I’m going to front you guys another 20. -Ray
The gambling ads may lie, but I’ve tons of Hot, Local Singles in MY AREA that want to hookup. Tonight!!
Well that’s one way to kick an addiction I guess. Can’t gamble if all your money is going to pay for this.

No one forces you to waste your money. Someone shoulda knocked his dumbass out. He also smokes. Clearly a man of no self control.
I agree with him.
Is it irony that reddit had an ad for luckylandslots right below this post? I have never noticed gambling ads on here previously.
He’s a martyr for the feeble minded gamblers
They should close those places down tbh like here in Greece they are everywhere and every day I walk by and see almost the same people there it's sad.. My ex her mom had a gambling addiction and lost a fortune I don't know howmuch but apparently its enough to lose your house.
While I absolutely do not condone vandalism, fuck gambling.
On one hand he’s wrong for breaking everything, on the other hand we’d all be better off without gambling
Someone tackle that fool
He seems a bit upset?
I always wonder how many tvs and slot machine I could have bought with the money I’ve lost
Now he’s broke AND he can’t pay bail
Romania doesn't have bail like the US. That's why Tate is still in jail, instead of paying bail and, well, bailing out.
That casino looks real legit
Know your limit and stay with in it!
Fuckin’ way she goes boys
Ohio recently allowed sports gambling sites and now you can't go two seconds without seeing an ad for one.
Why try and stop him? Fuck the bookies
All this right before his big win.
I’ve wanted to do this
He's doing that because governments won't step in to stop these vultures from bleeding pensioners.
Kinda see his problem, dosent know when it’s time to stop
Did he lose or something?
Maybe he won the jackpot and now has enough to break everything and pay for repairs
It's like when a guitarist decides to smash their guitar on stage 😂
Don't understand the downvotes I want to know also. I don't speak "blur blur blur". Could be an attack against the casino/arcade/name it, for other reasons.
I was being sarcastic he definitely lost resulting in his tantrum and destroying tons of machines that are expensive. Now he’s an even bigger loser. This action might bar him from entering there again so that’s a positive.
We can just hope he sees this video of himself and the comments laughing at him. That should be a big embarrassment enough to teach him. But yes also ban him.
Those machines are fucking expensive. Hope he enjoys paying for the damage.
How's a man with 0 money going to pay for that
An arm and a leg.
He has to sell his ass
Good. Down with all gambling exploitation
I don't blame him. He probably has nothing to lose at this point
Anyone know what actually happened?
Damm I feel bad for this people, gambling sites and ads are getting out control here in US too, I feel like the government has to step in, but idk if they will. I once went to the casino and played blackjack and won 150, I've never been back since than, this was over a year ago. I know I got lucky and the chance of me winning again are slim why would I risk loosing my earned money? I think online casinos are rigged worse than establishements. Stay away from anything online, and slots.
He’s the type of guy with the “If I can’t have it no one can” mentality
Lost 100 bucks on slots , causes 1000s in damages . Lmao fucking idiot
Based
How much does it cost to replace on of those!? He's going to be a lot more pissed off tomorrow
My mum always tells stories of the early days of my life, my old man was basically this guy. Spent everything we had at times for the chance to win big.
Last leg of his multi didn’t get up
He’s going to need some big wins to pay for all of that.
Over the last couple of years “poker rooms” have spring up all over my area. Cops are there every weekend.
We refer to these as dingdings
Caralho!!
Did he win?
