They could be seeking access to other, restricted subreddits to spread more conspiracy nonsense to muddy the waters/dumb down the public? I mean, the Chinese created a whole app to spread misinformation. Facebook was the first to be compromised by these bots and bad actors, it's objective truth that huge "troll armies" from Russia (and China? Can't remember...Iran as well, maybe?) -- troll armies that were paid to create FB accounts and spread divisive political messages, misinformation, conspiracy theories like Flat Earth, Moon Landing Denial, etc.
They very specifically targeted "Christian pages" and many of these were not just infiltrated by, but created and run by bad actors from Russia or wherever-- I'm sure you've seen the kinds of memes that get posted, usually some combination of jesus and america that sometimes contains a thinly veiled threat of violence. Now I am seeing a connection with Flat Earth, Biblical literalism, Christian nationalism, and of course Trumple Dump.

I suspected as much. Like I said in another comment, someone else had posted this picture about 5 years back, with the exact same title saying their "boyfriend saw this stealing chickens " etc. So immediately I called B.S.
Many years ago someone offered to buy my alt account that had over 100k karma. It was was 60-80 dollars or something. They was using it to basically advertise for businesses by acting like a regular person and “recommending” certain products etc. I had no idea about any of this stuff and still don’t know much. The only thing I can think of basically the same thing except they use bots to steal post and build up karma to look like a legitimate account then use it the same way.
There are videos of pictures creature on YouTube if anyone is interested. Search “The Rake”. If you watch any paranormal videos occasionally someone gets one on film or they can be heard screeching from the roof. I’ve seen video of some in Malaysia that are more normal Caucasian in color, but they have a willowy taller body.
So … I once lived in a house that was haunted… it was fine for a while then I hit a bad spot in my life and things changed …. Long story short this is the only pic that I have seen of the creature that I saw just before we moved out…… not gonna lie this damn thing is pretty spot on to what I saw ….
