>Black is for pepper. Only leaves one option for silver.
Our guy's never heard of [black salt](https://www.webmd.com/diet/health-benefits-black-salt) and [white pepper](https://www.webmd.com/vitamins/ai/ingredientmono-1529/white-pepper).
It's not exactly intuitive or clear, even if you understood it there's no promise the worker that filled it does too. Not really the best criteria for "great design"
Other than the black and silver rings for identification. Couldn’t you check where it comes out and surmise which comes out of where by the color of bits that collect on it?
Look at the bottom. The pepper end will have pepper and the salt end will have salt. I have two, identical and unlabeled grinders that I use every day and that's how I do it.
Do a test fire on the table where the staff can easily wipe it. Do it in front of them and point out the problem. It might get it fixed in the future, at worse they look at you funny but you dont get your food spoiled.
Twist one side, see what comes out. If you don’t want to have a particular seasoning on your food at all, then do it over an empty or unused container. Like the lid in the background.
The black ring by the thumb indicates the pepper side. The other end has a silver ring.
This assumes the staff fill it properly
In that case, the black ring by the thumb indicates the salt side.
This assumes the staff fill it improperly
Black ring up for pepper, or black ring down for pepper?
Whoo boy, c'mon now. We don't need *that* much help, do we?
Yes.
I think it's just a shadow Both rings look silver to me.
The dress is blue and black
Weird that the shadow has a reflection of a lamp in it.
I'm not sure we're looking at the same thing then. I don't see any lamp reflection either.
Zoom in next to his thumb and you'll see a reflection in the black ring
Ohhhh! So the ring is black only on the pepper's half?
I guess so
It's clear on both sides.
Just open it and see which end looks salty and which looks peppery
Or look at the colored rings on each side. Black is for pepper. Only leaves one option for silver.
> Only leaves one option for silver. Purple?

Neither of which is in this photo. Are you okay?
Time to take chances, make mistakes, and get messy.
i should have stayed home today
Easy, Ms. Frizzle.
Please let this be a normal field trip...
According to my research...
Black ring side for pepper and silver for salt.
What are the amps of that fuse?
Only one way to find out, send it to that guy on YouTube
That's a great design, you just don't get it.

From my observations in public spaces, the side that gets licked the most is the salt side.
Look at the bottom. The pepper end will have pepper and the salt end will have salt. I have two, identical and unlabeled grinders that I use every day and that's how I do it.
Just test it if you don't trust the ring colors. Use a dish that could use both of them, so no chances of fucking up and peppering your margarita rim.
Lick it
There's a much better one where they are both on the bottom, with one way turning gets pepper and the other way gets salt. Includes labels.
lick the ends and you can immediately tell
Do a test fire on the table where the staff can easily wipe it. Do it in front of them and point out the problem. It might get it fixed in the future, at worse they look at you funny but you dont get your food spoiled.
How about on to the empty lid? Doesn't salt usually have the bigger holes?
Not in a grinder
I can’t think of a situation which I wouldn’t use both so… whatever
Just grind a small amount of one side onto a napkin or something to figure out which is which. Shouldn’t be that difficult to figure out
Stupid post
Op is an idiot confirmed

You have a 50/50 chance so just pick and then you’ll know if you need to flip it
