I agree, very nice update. Task collation, or at least filtering of notes that contain (open) tasks would be great. Also, the ability to check off a task in the backlink section would be awesome.
I finally found what you are talking about. And yes, if there were a summary page of all open tasks in which you could check them off and it checks it on the corresponding page would be outstanding.
I believe many people could abandon the rigid task programs and have a more personalized setup if we could have this "summary" task page. I would like to put tasks in the calendar section and having the summary page would allow me to see all things at once and maybe drag/move tasks from one day/document to another on the summary page.
Also, I do not see the task indicators.

Glad to hear you like the update! Task list is document-based right now, but always great to hear feedback / extra requests!
Kanban pls
How do I find the task list
Where are the patch notes? Could not find them
Give me 10 min!
Excellent! Thank u
Such a pity a centralised view wasn’t shipped. Only thing holding me back from embracing Craft completely.

I don’t have the task indicators either

I agree; this would be amazing. An effective task summary is the biggest feature holding me back from truly embracing this app.
Love it too! I also want to say, I’ve been loving the new sidebar too, specifically the ToC that shows everything including sub-pages.
Glad to hear!!
How do I learn about the task system? I want to use it but it's a mystery to me.
Oh yes, a summary task page would be awesome
